  • Visiting some of the best things to do in Singapore including the Cloud Forest Dome at the Gardens by the Bay, the National Museum of Singapore, and some of Singapore's most iconic neighborhoods including Little India, Kampong Glam, and Orchard Road for high-end shopping. Of course I'll eat some tasty hawker foods along the way including prawn noodles at Albert Centre, carrot cake at Ion Orchard, Indian prata at the Tekka Centre, and chicken rice at Hawker Chan at the new Jurassic Food Court.

    Hey, Chris. Fantastic job on making an interesting place even more interesting, as usual!! I really enjoy watching your vlogs which are always well-paced, fun, and informative. BUT ESPECIALLY, it was a nice surprise running into you and chatting in the National Museum in Singapore 😆. Hope our paths cross again somewhere in the world someday!!

    Your latest Singapore travel vlog series takes me back, Chris!! My family and I went to Singapore in 2019 for 2 weeks; it was raining every day (the rainiest and most humid time of the year), and despite the weather, we still loved it!! You included a few food courts and locations we weren't aware of then, so it's good to know there's more to Singapore even after being there for 2 weeks. would love to go back

    19:27 - these ice cream carts are disappearing... we can barely find any nowadays. There's one quite frequently outside "Sim Lim Tower" (a building along Bencoolen Street) and one regularly just outside the Sembawang MRT/Sun Plaza Shopping Centre. As a kid I used to love listening for the ice cream bell (yeah they had those back then) and all the kids would run to the carts and get some. The ice cream used to be 10 cents to 50 cents back then 😂

    Hi Chris. Glad it was a beautiful day for you to do this walking video. The Cloud Forrest Dome is a great place to get out of the heat and cool off. I like the chicken rice in the earlier video than the Hawker Chan version. The Sprctra Light show is just a wonderful as the Bellagio Fountains.The Helix Bridge a great place for a night stroll. Thanks for sharing your wonderful adventure in Singapore. For me, the best part is always the wonderful types of food you get to enjoy. So jealous. LOL, Take care.

    6:45 - actually locals don’t have the luxury/habit of afternoon naps. It’s usually the migrant labour force… taking a quick doze after lunch. Their life is hard and sweaty, so a quick recharge for them.

    Hi. Love this vlog! Informative and entertaining.
    However, I feel I just have to mention one thing. In Singap0ore, whenever you buy/get served with a plate of rice (whether it's chicken rice or other rice dishes), please use fork & spoon to eat the food. Singaporean-Chinese only use chopsticks if it is served in a bowl, otherwise it's fork and spoon. Also, it's spoon to get the rice while fork is for getting meat/vegetables. Not all Chinese food are to be used with chopsticks. In fact, you can even use your fingers for some deep fried item, much like finger-food (McNuggets, etc.)

    The most misunderstood part of Chinese food is…..we have to eat everything with chopstick…..we really don’t do that.if it’s on a plate, it’s perfectly alright to eat with fork and spoon……and yes…spoon is used to scoop up rice…not the fork.

    Great video. Why call it carrot cake then? Lol Does carrot mean something else in Singapore? That is certainly a spin on an ice cream sandwich! Lol. How much was the coconut shake? And was that Garrett's from Chicago next to the coconut queen? 😮😮😮

    • @YellowProductions
      @YellowProductions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Coconut shake was around 6 SGD. And yes. That was indeed Garrett's from Chicago! And your guess is as good as mine as to why they call it Carrot Cake 😉

    • @MelvinSimKH
      @MelvinSimKH ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s made from radishes. In Chinese, radishes are called “white carrots” while the regular carrots are called “red carrots” so carrot cake is correct in Chinese, but not so in English :)

      English is the working language in Singapore. All subjects are taught in English in schools alongside a “mother tongue” (Mandarin, Malay or Tamil) so all Singaporeans speak at least 2 languages where English is one that everyone shares.
