An alternative to adding a tag to items you mirror in Next Actions is to create a new bullet in Next Actions summarising the context and house the mirrored item in that. This way you don't end up with superfluous tags on all the tasks inside Projects.
Excellent! I have been reviewing David Allen's book to implement the lists in my Workflowy routines, and in fact I had just created something similar some weeks ago. Good to see your approach. Also congrats for this new series of videos and tutorials, there are always good ideas and nuances to be found. Thanks!
#Workflowy rule!!!
This was very helpful. The once piece I was hoping you'd crack open and get into a little more was the calendar and how that fits in. When do you check it? How do you pull things out of the calendar and get them into actions etc.
This would be excellent, if I would be able to collect inbox items effortlessly. Now I have to open the app, search for the inbox, and this is at least 15-20 seconds, which is too distractive for me. Do you plan any widget / "one tap add" solution?
@@internisus Yes, we have a feature called move-to that lets you send anything you want anywhere you want without having to navigate to it first. So you can create an item called "Inbox" and send items there. without having to use the mouse or navigate to the inbox first.
I added the template to my Android phone. I then duplicated the template and deleted the original embedded template. It seems to be functioning. Haven't tried it on the PC.
Very nice presentation of using Workflowy to implement GTD. Although the template link displays the Workflowy outline, clicking on the log-in button returns the error message, at least on Chrome, Something Went Wrong.
@@workflowy Thank you for the valuable resource, started implementing this over the weekend and I can see it makes me far more effective. And glad the link is fixed, thank you for the attention to that. :D
Wouldn't it be easier to implement "next actions" as a tag instead of a separate folder with mirrored items? Then you could just search for the tag and not worry about mirroring anything.
I tried implementing it with a next actions tag but it was clunkier since I still needed a separate “next actions” folder for all the 1-step actions that aren’t part of a project.
What if you do like the secret weapon and do tags with prioritizing? 1-Now 2-Next 3-Soon 4-Later 5-Someday maybe Also can you filter and or for example?
They are the emoticons available on all platforms...on PC: hit the windows and semicolon key at the same time to pull it up. On smartphone, access your emoticon menu on the virtual keyboard when you are typing.
Hey Michael, you might need to duplicate the template then delete the original one. This is something we're working on fixing to make the saving of templates easier.
Hi Chanda, we're still working on dates, so this is something that could possibly become part of the feature. We know a lot of users would like some sort of calendar integration.
Hey K 2, these are just emojis, you can put them anywhere in your Workflowy. We like to use them to help sections of our Workflowy documents stand out.
Really beginning to love Workflowy. They need to place a quick add widget, and even sync with Google Calendar
I'm loving these weekly videos guys! Keep them coming.

Finally we have something that makes sense!
Thank you. Mirror functionality is quite useful. This helped me streamline my GTD system on workflowy.
Thanks for the video. I'm starting with GTD and getting the template helps a lot.
Super helpful tips for using workflowy. Great examples too. Thank you

Great video. I don't have a specific inbox as I just use the WF top level to enter everything, so that's the 'inbox'. Then categorise after.

Good stuff, thanks for the video. Is this your primary calendar or just a supplemental to another calendar app? Thanks.
Thank you! This workflow is really helping me to getting things done. The Template button to sign in is not working!
The issue is the `beta.` in the url. Remove that, should work fine. The issue is cross-subdomains.
Thanks! It works🙌

Do you mean an easier way to get to the inbox or to add items to the inbox?
@@workflowy Sounds to me like they mean adding items to the inbox without having to get to it. Is that possible? (I'm not a user yet, so I'm curious.)

This should be possible soon with an upcoming zapier integration@@BDV000

I had the same problem, but simply remove "beta" from the url and it works fine. Different subdomain.
@@tobiasparent4806 Your solution worked like a charm! Thank you.
Thanks Tobias! We've updated the link in the description.

I added the template to my account but I can't seem to edit it - can you please provide any suggestions?

How can I get these icons on the bullets?

How can I find the symbols ?
Hi Andreas, you can use any emoji or combination of emojis you like!
can't make the template copy work. I clicked on the link above and then 'Add to account" but I cannot add any bullets to anything.

But how to see all your dates in one place chronologically listed?
Hi will you implement tags for dates and assignees that can be exported to a calendar?
Hi Chanda, we're still working on dates, so this is something that could possibly become part of the feature. We know a lot of users would like some sort of calendar integration.
Hey, how do you get the icons next to the bullets?
Hey K 2, these are just emojis, you can put them anywhere in your Workflowy. We like to use them to help sections of our Workflowy documents stand out.
How did you get those lovely icons into WF?
Hi Petr, they're emojis. A lot of workflowy users use them to help quick visually distinguish different sections of their Workflowy document.
I've known GTD for 7 years I haven't still read David Allen's book 😅
