I love ls engines, Ive bought a SBC 427,4.155 pistons. 4in crank, the thing made 705.6rwhp 600foot lb of torque. With cheap out of the box heads a 6.40 lift can with 300degrees of duration at 0.50
There was some stout stuff there on the day but none of the really big hp local cars showed up for some reason. I know at least one guy there was happy to sit back and drink beer watching dyno runs while his 900rwhp Torana was sitting back in the workshop. Still some good cars and a fun day for all. Full video to come.
And 14 to 1 compression, the heads are darts with 1050 Holley carb, I wish I would of went with a blown motor cam2 race fuel is the only brand near by here
I LOVE IT how shit (mostly) breaks when its revving close-to or mid-range and higher revs haha No really funny lucky no one was hurt. Not much of a problem from my perspective because VN commodres are cheap as chips apparently......finding spare parts should be a no-brainer.
Awesome shot of the tail shaft.

Better on the dyno than the street or track. Could have caused a bad accident.

How about a solid driveshaft for the next run instead of the stock thin-walled hollow tube?
@blownhemi How does the tailshaft break on a dyno run??? Looked smooth up until that point, did it just come loose ya reckon and than break???
Where'd he get the tailshaft? Autobarn??!
typicle holdens
Think it must have been made out of plastic to break at only 450hp lol....
Or it was not bolted in properly which is alot more likely.

Yep...I hate that sound.
It was a Calibre brand from Supercheap - finest chinese plastic...
shit you must be one of those tough excel drivers hahahah
whoever straps these cars down needs a lesson on how to do it properly. i wouldnt be standing infront of any car on that dyno
Shambler101 .. yeah I wouldn't either but lucky for them the tailshaft snapped haha
lucky it's only a shitbox vn or else that'd be expensive to fix/replace the car.
Definitely shaft
Must be some low horsepower cars.. XD
shit, thats a weak shaft.... sucks though.
hahaha awesome
