I love the fact that she doesn’t use unnecessary sound effects to make it more dramatic. It’s just her talking, telling it how it is.

The patriarchal justice system in action. We have the same here in Australia. How dare a girl leave her house looking pretty and expect to not be raped and murdered. Of course she must have been blackmailing him for a job making sandwiches all day (when she already had her dream job). Also, how do we know it’s his first murder? Maybe it’s just the first time he got caught. Clearly he’s capable. Sickening! I hope he rots in there. So scary to think about how Paige just went to do something as normal and mundane as going to pick up a sandwich and never would have thought she’d be walking into a dangerous situation.

My theory: He caught a liking to her after her coming into the shop so much and being such a bright and cheery person. He, in his own sick mind, thought that she was into him. He made an advance at her which she refused. It pissed him off and he lost it and killed her. The amount of wounds definitely suggests a person who is not in their right mind. The sloppiness of it all makes it pretty clear he'd never done it before.

This could be a possebility that he murdered her because of his sexual attraction to his own daughter, or that he was sexually attracted to Paige regardless, either way, a lot of rage was envolved here- could be because he hated himself for the possebility he is attracted to a young girl, or, that he was also *rejected* by her. Things like these are unfulfiled fantasies, that a person losing their control on them can get into a lot of frustrations when they can't come true. This could be also a direction for a person to follow the path of a typical serial killer.

Unfortunately, ppl that DO cheat often have a "lovely" significant other. When someone cheats it has nothing to do with the person being cheated on, and everything to do with the cheater themselves. I'm in NO way saying I believe she herself was having an affair with that creeper. I don't know enough about her to know whether she'd do such a thing, and it's unfair for ppl to speculate or point fingers when she can't defend herself. How could the cops not think he was a suspect when he first said he'd never seen her he didn't recognize her cuz so many people come in and out, but then all of a sudden he says oh yeah she comes in here all the time. That's the biggest red flag from the start before they saw the tape and stuff. What a sick twisted liar. That story of her threatening him was BS imo. Wth is wrong with the jury. 23 yrs for brutally murdering a child??

    • @Azby64
      @Azby64 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

He was still regarded as a suspect; as law enforcement it's not a one at a time sort of thing, it's recording actions and any gained evidence and returning as seen fit to narrow things down in a calculated manner. (And a manner that cannot be pointed at by defense!)
Even if a questioned individual seems ridiculous or fishy, it's your and your colleagues' duty to not jump to ANY abrupt conclusions and to always behave as neutral as possible so as to not affect the culprit's own behaviors.
Due diligence in solving a case also significantly involves avoiding red herrings that can impede a just conclusion--as well as closure for the living victims of the tragedy.

I turned to my mom who was sitting in the room with me and was like - ‘imagine just walking past someone like that and not knowing there was a dead body in the suitcase.’ And my mom replied saying she could hardly think about it because you could do it every day without knowing. Pamela went through something so hard in losing her daughter and yet she’s come out of it continuing to fight for those like Paige. Based on information shared about Paige and about how much of a bright light she was, I think that would be something she’d be extremely happy about. Her mom keeping her memory alive but also using the memory of her daughter to help others. That’s really powerful.

Another great example of why all girls and women need to know physical self defense!
    - always carry pepper spray, where if is easy to access (such as on your keychain or looped through your purse)
    - a small taser if possible, kept in your bag and locked
    - when you’re out by yourself, slip on some large and sharp rings on your fingers to create a sharp weapon if you throw a punch
    - when you form a fist with your hand, keep your thumb on the outside of your other fingers, laying across the others so that it doesn’t get in the way or break during a punch
    VERY IMPORTANT:
    - if it comes down to a brawl, do NOT give up.
    - scream, bite, kick his chins/crotch, stomp on his feet, hit his nose as hard as you can
    - use the base of your palm to strike upwards under the nostrils to shatter the nose, which will ruin their vision
    - claw their eyes, dig your nails into sensitive areas
    - make a big scene! Do NOT give up!
This is way more common than it should be. Take some self defense courses. Don’t travel alone, if possible. I believe in you ladies, don’t become another number! ❤️
