Oh, the memories! When the curtain drew back at around 1:00, it caused a flash surge of a previously forgotten memory. I actually REMEMBER that curtain. I was always terrified of that larger bear (I think they had a statue of him, or a guy in a costume of him, that would stand on the play floor as well). The show has several tables facing the stage, and looks a bit like a vegas lounge inside. We sat at a table nearer to that animatronic a lot when I was a kid, and it was that brown bear in particular I always wanted to watch to make sure it didn't start coming at me. I will admit, I did kind of start looking up the history of Chuck E. Cheese's and Showbiz because of FNaF, but the jokes are starting to become really tired and not funny anymore.
Wow, Seeing this footage now makes me appreciate how much work went into this show. When I was a kid in the 80's, most families I knew didn't even have home computers, so the software and mechanics they used to get this running had to be pretty pricey. Even then, they still took the time to give the characters subtle movements, like leaning back and swaying their shoulders, which I imagine took a ton of time to choreograph. Managing the inevitable technical breakdowns must have been a major challenge as well. Anyway, it's really cool to think how far some companies went to entertain kids back then. These days they'd just slap 'em in front of a monitor and be done with it.
Hell yeah! They in fact had only a super early Apple computer, and each action is generated by a switch. That's all there was: A list of switches [I believe they numbered from 10-20, depending on how many motions the animatronic has] that, when programmed in a certain order, syncs the mouth to the music, or generates those lifelike sequences of action. My kudos to Fechter and the programmers for being so incredible with such limited tech!

This was the first ever RAE show I ever watched! My mind was blown because before I saw this, I only ever have had known of my Chuck E. Cheese’s Studio C Alpha show 😂 I wish they kept these guys!
This is actually quite fascinating to me, having grown up with Chuck E Cheese and to see how far the animatronics have come. They were srill pretty advanced back then, too! Then I look at the Disney theme rides and am even more fascinated!
Oh My Goodness! This brings so many memories. I had my 8th birthday party here. I remember this show. Those were the days. Yes, that Gorilla scared me too. His eyes moving back and forth made think he caught my eyes and was looking at me when he turned his head...I thought he might get up and chase me...lol

2003, I only went to Chuckee Cheese like twice in my life and it used to freak me out. I heard they took the robots out and it kinda bums me out a little haha. I would’ve liked to see this.

I wasn’t born in this era and I wish I could’ve been there to see a performance by these guys. I’ve seen a ton of shows online with them and they are a lot more entertaining to watch than those puppet shows on the TVs at Chuck E Cheese. I adore their personalities and I hope that one day I’ll be able to see one of their shows in person.
I worked at the Showbiz in Nashville TN from the summer it opened as one of the first franchises in the company in 1982. Friday and Saturday nights there would be a line to get into the restaurant going outside down the sidewalk. My last year, I worked as the assistant tech and loved working with the animatronics and other games in the game room. Sweet times and the best show in town! It was sad after Chuck E Cheese sued saying Showbiz stole their idea. The way I saw it they took the concept and made it better. No different than any other product. That was just the show. The pizza was some of the best, the salad bar fully stocked, and a wide variety of sandwiches if you did not want pizza.
UGH I have lived in Minnesota my entire life. Stupid Chuck E cheese replaced both known locations of Circus Pizza. :U One of them was where the Chuck e Cheese in Burnsville Center resides now. (It at least has the Studio C stage, and has remained unchanged since I went there back in 1999/2000. I was..5/6 at the time I believe. But i'm going off topic) And the other one was Located in Blaine, Minnesota. (As it says in the desc) It's too bad that these guys were swapped out by the time I got to see what Chuck e cheese actually was. I would have preferred these guys WAY over Chuck e cheese any day.
I just feel so bad for the poor staff that worked here. How many times a shift do you think they had to endure this? Brutal. Great fun for a little kids party though...

I remember being in junior high school back in the 80s and Showbiz Pizza would have "Teen Night" on Fridays! They would have a DJ and a dance floor and everything! We would get tipsy in the parking lot on MD 20/20 (back in the 80s, the real grimy hood corner stores would openly sell alcohol to teens! 😄) and wild out in Showbiz! Things would be jumping until some rival high schools would clique up and a fight would pop off! Ahhh memories!
You know it’s bad that people are complimenting the lifelike movements as compared to CEC programming when a decent amount of the movements on this show aren’t even functioning haha

I can't think of a clever username. I make videos. Showbiz is still there. They are just under management of Chuck.E.cheese
This was the first ever RAE show I ever watched! My mind was blown because before I saw this, I only ever have had known of my Chuck E. Cheese’s Studio C Alpha show 😂 I wish they kept these guys!
I remember looking under the curtains when they weren't playing. It was freaky
This is actually quite fascinating to me, having grown up with Chuck E Cheese and to see how far the animatronics have come. They were srill pretty advanced back then, too! Then I look at the Disney theme rides and am even more fascinated!
They should bring these guys back as a restaurant/entertainment establishment
Oh My Goodness! This brings so many memories. I had my 8th birthday party here. I remember this show. Those were the days. Yes, that Gorilla scared me too. His eyes moving back and forth made think he caught my eyes and was looking at me when he turned his head...I thought he might get up and chase me...lol
I remember this back in the 80s. I had a good time back in the day.
the smell of this place just came back to me. :p
Pepperoni and sausage with the crushed crushed peppers in the shakers. Everybody had the same thing so the smell would light up the room....
I remember so many birthdays at Showbiz in my childhood. Wow. 😊🥰
i remember this as a kid. i lived near a showbiz and i'd go there to play video games and sometimes eat a pizza. i actually was embarrassed being in the room while they were doing their act. i'd bet a collector could make some serious bucks selling them now.
I never got a chance to go showbiz pizza because I was born in 2001 😢
Same, except i was born in 2004
I'm a 2003 child.
2003, I only went to Chuckee Cheese like twice in my life and it used to freak me out. I heard they took the robots out and it kinda bums me out a little haha. I would’ve liked to see this.
I want to buy those and have em in my basement. I saw video where they are reprogrammed so thats neat
***** IKR! Scary,You would have to play five nights at Freddys in REAL LIFE EVERY NIGHT! AND NOT GET ANY MONEY!
The Rock-a Fire Explosion isn't scary. They're the most lovable animatronic band I've ever seen.
Jenna Buffolino look at those animatronics. Does any of them walk? No. Does any of those want to kill someone? No.
Volym Kitsune yea but still creepy. and u don't know what they could do (jk lol)
Jenna Buffolino How old are you? Because you act like 8 year old honey.
lmao the bear is still scaring me in 2016 😂
Its 2020 now Im 37 and I see why the Gorilla scared me at age 2 and 3
Me or billy bob?
Which bear? There’s Billy Bob and Beach Bear
I wish places still had animation if bands. That looks like a great time.
They need to bring this place back it looks so RAD!
When I was younger that gorilla used to scare the SHIT out of ME!! When all the kids would run down to the stage I stayed put and ate my pizza. Creepy ass things! Showbiz had better games back then though!
I am 40 years old I remember I had my 6th birthday party at showbiz Billy Bob brought me my birthday cake and the Rock - afire explosion band sang happy birthday to me I will never forget. I will never forget you Billy Bob, Fats Geronimo, and mitzi mozzarella
I think this is the first show I ever saw where all of the robots were working LoL
I haven’t seen this show in about 35 years!!
these characters are in very good condition 100% it lookslike they where just built Aaron would be proud
My dad told me about a time when he was a kid and they let him touch Billy Bob's guitar, but he just froze with fear instead.
This is so disturbing. I totally loved this as a kid though!
It's funny they were able to sue them when really Disney started all the animatronic stuff.
Wow, bring Showbiz Pizza back please.
I remember these from when I was a I kid....LOL....wow....i can't believe I would get excited about these
UGH
I have lived in Minnesota my entire life.
Stupid Chuck E cheese replaced both known locations of Circus Pizza. :U
One of them was where the Chuck e Cheese in Burnsville Center resides now. (It at least has the Studio C stage, and has remained unchanged since I went there back in 1999/2000. I was..5/6 at the time I believe. But i'm going off topic)
And the other one was Located in Blaine, Minnesota. (As it says in the desc)
It's too bad that these guys were swapped out by the time I got to see what Chuck e cheese actually was. I would have preferred these guys WAY over Chuck e cheese any day.
Well, Aaron Fechter, the creator, is planning on re-vamping the Rock Afire Explosion in the distant future!!!
I get it! I live in mn too!
Payton Johnson Oh Sweet! In what area?
The southern part or northern? :3
South👌🏽
+Payton Johnson NO! We need them in the west too!! We never experienced the RAE D:
I’m 44 and used to love going to Showbiz Pizza. I miss it.
I just feel so bad for the poor staff that worked here. How many times a shift do you think they had to endure this? Brutal. Great fun for a little kids party though...
Shit, if there were Showbiz Pizza's still open, i'd love to work there. Or be there at the least.
No different than people that work the shows at Disneyworld or Universal.
I'd say you learn to tune it out eventually
when i was a small child, I would have gotten absolutely terrified of these!
Thank you!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤗 Childhood memories! Just showed it to my 7 year old who only knows of Chuck E Cheese and Fnaf! Fnaf was totes inspired by Shobiz!!! She’s like that animatronic has a puppet like Funtime Freddy has BonBon! Okayyyyy.yaaaahs!!!!
That weird bird thing in the barrel & the gorilla scared me the most.
Showbiz pizza is better then Chuck E. Cheese
Showbiz pizza is better than Chuck E. Cheese like if you agree
Wutaii1 Nostalgia yeah
@@jovarheopangalila5476 I just got back from a trip and we saw the original animatronics today. I willl upload the video soon up
Chuck E Cheese says they regret buying showbiz, so yeah. Even they admit th hat this was way better than their own animatronics, and restaurant
@@rtofthe_dead but showbiz bought Chuck E. Cheese’s they then merged
If I were to travel back in time, this would be my first stop. :)
Billy bob is my favorite I’m also making a billy bob stage made out of cardboard
That gorilla used to scare me as a kid but I loved show biz. I’ll never forget those days!
The gorilla scared me when I was little I never wanted to get close to the stage
here in Minnesota we had “circus circus. “Which was a pizza joint with arcade which had this same robot band in dining room area. Man this brought me right back to asking mom and dad for quarters to play arcade- life really goes quick.
I wish showbiz was open I am eleven and it looked like a good place to have fun and it's pizza looked amazing can anyone give me information about showbiz pizza
it's opened. but not for long, because the animatronics flipped shit, and ran to the kids cove. to find a man in a golden suit murdering them. you're welcome!
oh, and the animatronics are scared for life, so they wont sing. they just sit there... silently, thinking about dead babies.. or... whoever goes there
NO
There's one all the way in Barboursville West Virginia that I used to go to when I was your age. I think there's one in Utah also
Samioo Theres also antoher Showbiz Pizza in Michigan I made a video about it.
My dad used to go to one in Pennsylvania and when he moved here he went to one in Michigan.
Endy Plays Me?
This terrifies me to my very core…
Rolfe and earl were my favorite
Poor drummer dog, he looks like he does not sleep for 3 months and is still smiling, truly a hero
Thank you for sharing this video, this brings back memories.
God bless Aaron Fletcher and Creative Engineering! Would love to see the Rock-fire Explosion do some awesome pre british invasion amercian garage..just like this vid!! Louie Louie ???
I remember being in junior high school back in the 80s and Showbiz Pizza would have "Teen Night" on Fridays! They would have a DJ and a dance floor and everything! We would get tipsy in the parking lot on MD 20/20 (back in the 80s, the real grimy hood corner stores would openly sell alcohol to teens! 😄) and wild out in Showbiz! Things would be jumping until some rival high schools would clique up and a fight would pop off! Ahhh memories!
Mitzi - fun cheerleader & more 🎉
You know it’s bad that people are complimenting the lifelike movements as compared to CEC programming when a decent amount of the movements on this show aren’t even functioning haha
Almost everything works on this show even if it may be slow. The only thing I can see that’s broken is Mitzi’s ears and one of Dook’s ears
Those things freaked me out so much as a kid
