Aaron, I think your bright background is alright. 😉 But the dark background suits you much better. I think a dark background really reflects your passion for fragrances. I know it sounds weird. 🤪

It’s funny - I know you’re not the biggest fan of this fragrance, and it’s certainly generic and derivative but it will always have a place in my heart. It was the first fragrance that made me go “oh wow”, and kicked me off on a fragrance journey that has led me to becoming a hobbyist perfumer. For that I will always be grateful for this one!
Most compelling take on this gem. This is my absolute work scent when I'm too frugal with my aventus. Thanks for the notable comparison!

I’m glad you found some positives with this fragrance. I too hate dupes but this is using the same kinda dna but in a different way that makes me enjoy wearing it instead of aventus sometimes. It’s definitely one of the favourites, especially with such a good price

This is my favourite Perfume & I'm so glad finally someone with knowledge spotted the fact that although the base is similar to Creed, it still has it's own character.
When I compared it with Aventus, it lasted longer plus it still keeps that fresh woody smell after hours however Aventus becomes more sweet and gradually disappears.

I recently got a bottle of it with knowing nothing about it . I wear it more than my chanel let alone dior . It just stands out to me so fucking much , favorite to date.

Hey, you remastered the old, scuffed Explorer video! It was so good in its own right, but the way you do things now is so much more informative and contemplative. I won't lie and say that I don't kind of miss the old semi-ranty style, but I'm still really glad you're looking back at the old stuff with a more analytical and mature perspective. Can't wait for the direct comparison video!

The background change is interesting and different, and hair change is very cool. We all get in our comfort zones, the black background is all of ours, I read that you'll go back to it due to location which is great. There _is_ something more dramatic about the dark that suits you, but again, occasional change is all good. Very interesting/neat cut to the hair, hope you're well, cheers!
This is one of my favorite fragrances! I compared this to Creed Aventis one night and it smells very, very similar to Aventis, but to KY pleasant surprise the Explorer had much better longevity than the Aventis. I think Explorer is great just as it is

Montblanc Explorer is brilliant. I directly compared it to Creed Aventus and both myself and my wife couldn't tell the difference between them. I own a 200ml bottle after instantly buying it when I smelt it on a colleague. (Not that I wanted to smell the same as them, just it was the best, strongest scent I think I've ever smelt!). Performance, sillage, everything is great on it, it's clean and fresh and woody and masculine. It works in pretty much all situations, all year around. I would literally rate it 10/10, and I have hundreds of pounds worth of fragrances. I would say it suits a man aged 30+.
It’s my favorite fragrance and yes you actually can wear this all year everyday day or night and literally any occasion you can possibly think of. I think it’s the most versatile fragrance out of all fragrances whether it’s designer or niche.
Thanks for the this review. I'm sure you'll never go down this rabbit hole, but I must say, I'd love to see what you would do with a Creed inspired fragrance!
Love your haircut looking good. I have this frag and it smells good. Though the sillage and projection is not that good but it lasts on my skin for 6-7hrs on 4 sprays

I saw you have fragrances on Max Aroma, including a 23x2ml discovery set. Most if not all showed a notice that they’re expecting to be in stock around November 1st or 2nd. I hope those are on track to hit early next month. As a long time sub I’d love to purchase some.

Not everyone can afford creed so for a designer to get you near the experience for less is good, but I love montblanc getting their back on creed was a baller move.

Even if you don’t like clones. I would love love love to see you review a Lattafa or Al Haramain fragrance. I would like you to tell us how it is even possible that they sometimes sell a 100 ml bottle for less than 20 bucks and still gets amazing reviews on Fragrentica or Parfumo.

I recently received your sample set. After a 48 hour testing I'm confident that Haze, Daddy, Guapo, Boss Bastard and High Voltage will be in my rotation. This is saying a lot because I usually only connect with 1 or 2 fragrances from a house. The only other house I have bought multiple style fragrances is Tom Ford.
Having said that theres one fragrance in particular that grabbed my attention.
Hard Candy.
After reading your description I decided to give it a proper run instead of assuming it would be too sweet.
I grabbed my sample of Hard Candy and went into my room. It was nighttime so the mood was set. I turned on the blacklight and turned on the soundtrack to Charlie and the chocolate factory.
I closed my eyes took a healthy inhalation of Hard Candy after two sprays.....
I opened my eyes just as Mr. Wonka himself started to speak
"Come with me and you'll be in a world of pure imagination"
Hard Candy is an absolute masterpiece, Mr. Hughes.
I then went to purchase a few bottles and it appears sold out as it was a limited run...
Is there any chance you can do another run of Hard Candy? Otherwise Hard Candy will remain a mere whisper to my senses.

Just got a 100ml bottle for £34, such a great value fragrance. Loving your reviews.
I picked up a 100 ml bottle of this for about 30 quid! Absolute bargain. Love the bottle and it smells really nice on me and lasts well. It's an easy any time any day kind of spray. Have a lot of compliments aswell if you're in to that. Nice to know I don't smell bad.

I picked 200ml for 70 Euro! The first 20 minutes are amazing forget the rest...

More explosive you got Armaf club de nuit edt i guess. I would pick explorer for that exact reason as it would work better at work indoors. Great video 👍

While I find myself not particularly fond of Aventus , I rather like Explorer as a safe work scent. I rarely wear it outside of the work environment however. On my own time I prefer dark, rich scents like your Onyx.
I honestly like the black background better. It seems to fit his personality and the feel of the video.
Explorer is my favorite fragrance. My favorite scent profile is the citrus woody aromatics.
Yesterday I sprayed it on my hand in the store...even after I showered some 8hrs later, I could still detect it. Potent stuff. I'll probably go back and but it today

I have Creed Adventus, Explorer and Hacivat. None are clones imo. I like them all but drydowns are all different. To me, I get huge performance from aventus, that has fresh/sweet/wood drydown. Explorer is more ambroxan and peppery, and Hacivat is green and earthy.

I got this for $28 for 3.4oz as a cheapy… the ambroxan is harshhh but I’m PISSED that this gets me more compliments than my niche masterpieces.
I agree with you, when I first smelled Explorer I was surprised, but after a year or so when I rarely spray it on I like "meh".

Haze Black to me is his version of Aventus. Has Pineapple, black current and ambergris.
Theres tiziana terezi orion, another twist same dna but with birch

With Explorer I cannot smell the pineapple, with Aventus I cannot smell anything but. Maybe I should layer or combine them to get a "full" fragrance with pineapple note? I purely bought Aventus because of the AWESOME pineapple note!
I believe that Mancera Intense Cedrat Boise would be a great one to review since it has its own spin on this DNA

I've always hated citrus scents and freshies, and yet I fucking love Cedrat Boise and can't get enough of it.

The explorer that i've tried at a store doesn't last very long.. probably 3-4 hours of scent bubble? Then I can't smelled it anymore on my arm or is it that it has become weak, it still is kinda expensive for the performance and scent imo

This is a citrus-acid white musk and smoke bomb cloying bomb.
For $40 bucks on Discounters it's a good frag, but it's cloying in the high heat. Suppose to be an Aventus clone.
Aventus is much smoother and tame with the citrus-acid, and Patchouli comes into play in the Bottom Dryoff.
I smelt a girl walk past me corporate Downtown wearing it, and for some reason i just find it tacky.
What hair gel you using? Needs a review as looks good…

I sold my Explorer. Really didn't think it was that great. Loving Parfums Vintage Emperor EDP though. On my third bottle now.
I recently bought a bottle off eBay but Im getting no performance from it I put about 6 spray's around my neck and before I know it I can't even detect it in the Air. The seller says it could be my skin but I see you've said In previous vids your skin isn't the best for fragrances but here you say the scent is strong and lasts a long time. Guess maybe I got a bad bottle 😭
I would suggest Parfums Vintage take on Aventus, Pineapple Vintage Emperor.
They have mastered the Aventus inspiration to a level unmatched.
The Emperor EDP and EXTRAIT are what Aventus SHOULD be.
