You can tell that Aaron is very well versed in his profession. Being able to identify an Amouage and Tom Ford fragrance without knowing you're smelling them is outstanding enough!
Just for fun, I was fact checking Aaron's interpretation against Fragrantica breakdown and I can tell you this guy is a nose pro. Very impressive. 👌 Love the video!
@@drunkenmonkey1887I find that highly unlikely. Musicians can do the same thing aurally. Pros can listen to a piece and play it back to you. I love the videos when you guys collaborate. Having only recently taken a real interest in fragrances, I surprisingly find they help me regulate my mental state. I’m bi-polar and ASD and often find myself waking up knowing what I want to smell of to help me get through a work day. ATH really added a lot to your video. He has such insight into all aspects of fragrances, including, blending, quality of material, and the trade offs. Thanks for bringing him in. Think about a second session with him. I’m sure you did the panty droppers for the clicks. That theme doesn’t appeal to me. It looked like ATH was embarrassed by that constant theme.
Yeah I think they both didn’t seem very comfortable with it, although ATH has a frag called slut 😂. They have done multiple other videos though if you have a look
This was really really fun, thanks for coming up with a great idea like this and charming Aaron into joining you. The one enduring disappointment you both made me revisit was the permanent stain of grief and mild anger over the discontinuation of Tom Ford's 'Plum Japonais'. I agree with Aaron about the oddly underwhelming direction TF/Lauder has been going in. I've found absolutely nothing like PJ and cannot understand why they'd delete such a magnificent classic creation. All I can think is that either IFRA's constant regulation changes made it impossible to stay faithful to it's production technically, and thus the plug was sadly pulled OR it was too expensive to make and didn't sell as well as they hoped long term. I cannot understand it. All so-called dupes are laughably and entirely inaccurate. Bummer for me. I really hope they bring it back, as glorious as it ever was. 😢🙏
Always great to see Aaron, and I love the selection of fragrances you chose for him to smell. That man truly has a magical nose and it's amazing to listen to him break down a fragrance into its individual components.

This was a great video! I just wish I could smell the reason Oud Wood is considered among the best at dropping draws lol because the first time I smelled it I almost threw up. 🤮 It was among the most repulsive things I have ever put my nose on but I will give it props for actually creating a clear picture of what it smelled like to me: an abandoned Victorian house with holes in the roof that rain has poured in for a hundred years, rotting the all-wood interior that various wild animals have left poo and pee inside of. 😆
