I think Mont Blanc messed up by not keeping a recognizable note in the blue and platinum. And that note to me should've been the pink pepper that is in explorer.
Yeah, I agree. Explorer Ultra Blue woulda been more interesting with that pink pepper note. It does have it but it shoulda been more noticable.
Am i losing my mind ? I just got ultra blue a few days ago and i absolutely love it 😂 ima need you to relax ! It smells very earthy while somehow still being blue to me . I think it’s amazing . My favorite blue scent rn
Really nice video again Ash. A little something I noticed in this video that I really appreciated, was your word choice of saying "share a couple of sprays", as opposed to the usual "waste a couple of sprays". Which...might seem like an insignificant word change, but in the way how some similar fragrance channels do their presentation to viewers, it makes it a lot more welcoming to viewers, rather than coming across as a bit dismissive. So excellent job on a simple thing, that carries a lot of weight behind it. Huge kudos to you.
I noticed he made that change months ago. I agree, I like that choice of words better.

Sampled this one yesterday and am considering pulling the trigger at full retail. It does have some similarities to D&G's K EDP however feels more refined to my nose.

I am really looking forward to this one. The original is one of my favorite easy picks! From opening to the awesome drydown a 10/10 designer fragrance in my book. Ultrablue was just so underwhelming. I hope they are on an upwards trend with this.

Got mine this week and I do enjoy the opening a lot. I actually get a cucumber / Gin Tonic vibe, which unfortunately fades away quickly and turns into yet another standard woody scent. Not a great projection and longevity, so unfortunately not a must-have and won't rebuy.

Same with the top of both of my explorer bottles. All it would take it a little sticker to peel off. How no one thought of this is beyond me smh
I smelt this today, its nice and definitely has a little sweetness. I only had one spray, comes across linear, mass pleasing scent, seasons Spring and Autumn, any age range and any occasion.
Better then original explorer?
@@logancohan that's a subjective and the two smell different. This has Violet Leaves; middle note is Clary Sage. One or both of those notes are prominent. It's different to Explorer I really like Platinum.

Yep youd be correct, this is in no way even similar to SMW, completely different scent, least to my amateur nose anyway lol...tis nice though, been enjoying it so far 👌🏻
Wouldve been nice if MB would've taken some of the original DNA of Explorer like the pepper or something and added something a little different. But this smells nothing of the original. MB is only using there initial success with Explorer and making a totally different scent profile and hoping for sales. Evidently alot of ppl have my same feeling on this because its cheap on discounters already

I just want to say, being a subscriber and looking at the comments, listening to ash talk about frags and seeing his collection.. makes me feel less crazy about my collection of frags. And the “want” to keep collecting. 😅 I just bought 7 different bottles to add to my collection and they just got here so I’m stoked!! But I just looked at my different websites carts and counted it up… 10 new bottles (mostly niche) idk if I can’t spend over $1000 right now but man I wish I could.. in due time
I got a couple in “luckys” cart fragrancenet, joma Michael muhal. Etc etc lol I window shop on all the sites and just fill carts up knowing one day I can hit check out 😅😂

Whatever happened to the Explorer that was mentioned/previewed at the same time as Ultra Blue? It had a green wrap. I've never seen it actually come out.

So theres one note in the original mont blanc explorer that one of my colleagues at work finds kinda offputting and we both cant put our fingers on what that is, but we both agree that it is the thing that gives it a dry saw-dusty roughness kind of feeling that strangely enough, doesnt always come out as pronounced depending on skin moisture and environment temperature. I still like the scent and wear it to the office, but not on a regular basis. If your skin is well moisturized and the weather is warm and slightly humid, I get almost none of that note and Explorer performs its best.

The only reason I bought Montblanc Legend was because my favorite character in all of fiction is named Montblanc Noland, he was also an explorer so I had to get the explorer too. 😂😂
How is Noland your favorite one piece character?

He was executed because he was about to disrupt the world government's iron grip on the world. There's much more, but also, I was quite obsessed with Noland's character as a kid, and that impression still lasts.

I bought it microperfumes... didn't really notice the pineapple? But not one woman complimented me, 4 guys did the 2 times I have worn it..lasted no more than 2 hrs on me 65 degrees F those days

This coconut scent is driving me crazy. Why is it that it’s not even mentioned in Fragrantica? And other people from my family smell coconut as well. Can coconut be confused with the cedar notes? What’s going on? 😅

I've smelled this scent long time ago in 1986. I felt it on the skin of a loved one. He was on the other side of the street, going to the gym. I felt it flowing through the window milling cutters. I opened the window and searched for the scent source. Then I noticed that handsome guy smiling at me. Then he waved, blinked his left eye, and sent me the most romantic kiss 💋

Hearing Explorer Platinum, i thought this was going to be a stronger, sweeter, and darker take on Explorer that got a little closer to the old Aventus. Not a 1 to 1 clone, I like that it's its own thing, but maybe with a little smokiness that the old formulations of Aventus had. I was way off, apparently.

Has literally no resemblance to explorer whatsoever. They’re just using the name as marketing tool to bank more money. Should be a different name altogether
To me it suits me better than classic Explorer. From another perspective iPhone SE has literally no resemblance to other iPhone models but it’s still an iPhone. That doesn’t mean it’s another phone. It’s all about the theme, you know the explorer platinun that make you feel of top of the snowy and scary mountains, original explorer is more masculine like safari or trying to survive in nature kind of feeling. So it’s all up to you when or where should you wear it, how you wanna feel that day. These are fragrances you shouldn’t judge them like classic and strawberry flavored oreos. But yeah I admit you are not completely wrong.

Smells like musty lemmon Pledge furniture polish. A blind buy for me, but way disappointed since I like Montblqc Legend. Stinks! Not a fresh scent at all.

Dude, this isn’t a TV show. Five minutes in before we hear anything about how it smells. You do great reviews, but this should have been a three minute video or even a short. How does it smell? How does it compare to the OG? Do you need one or both in your collection? Boom. Done.

I don't know why but don't like fragrances like Mont Blanc, Mercedes Benz, etc., no matter the hype. I prefer sticking with established fragrance brands.
