One of your videos popped up the other day. Started watching a lot of them. Would like to see more of the pulling tractors. You are a talented man. Thanks
I could spend hours looking at this stuuf and talking to this man, trip back in time how pulling tractors began and how much we have advanced.....enjoyed this a lot.
Hey, glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the positive comments. Please be sure to hit the thumbs up on my videos and share 'em with all your buddies, that helps my channel get more exposure on you tube. I'll get some more vids. up soon as l get a chance.
I talked to you a few yrs ago, you were pulling a JD R in Bridgeville De. I was a big fan of Coleman and the Delaware Either Eater, and saw your video based it. I remember when Coleman had the modified Massey Harris and also saw the Deere Power many times
o man i love your videos i took apart my first engine when i was 10 years old and that was a lawnmower my dad said it will never run but it did , That eas my start now for some reason i got 6 boys that are very good with all kinds of engines i hope i can meet you some day , My uncle which is no longer living his 4020 J D its called oll Herman has pulled st Fishersville VA this past year and did very good
My father had a John Deere 600 diesel Industrial with factory loader. The 600 was based on the 4010, that was a very tough tractor. Found it back about 4 years ago in a junk yard, still ran but in rough shape. They wanted 5k for it Canadian, kinda wish I made an offer on it.
Very interested in that 1010. Currently restoring one myself that has a 115 gas engine in it was wondering if you might have some input on the option of boring it out and getting over sized pistons instead of buying a new liner/deck.
Can you find oversize pistons? How worn are the sleeves? If you can hone and get the bore fairly even top to bottom you could knurl the piston skirts and get oversize rings and file the correct end gap. I don't know where you are located, but we do that kind of work in our shop. The gas 1010 we have has a 2010 diesel block and bore size, it has 175 cubic inches. We had sleeves made and fit them into the deck plate, used automotive pistons , cut the rods in half and welded chevy small ends to 'em to make 'em the right length for the shorter piston. We turned it 6000 RPMs.
Damn 6000 rpm’s that’s really impressive!! And I can’t find over sized pistons that are meant for it I’ve been looking into finding a piston that would meet the size I need. I’ve never hear of knurling a piston skirt. Do u just chuck it up in a lathe and knurl it? It’s 30 thousands below size. I can get ver sized rings. How much do you think I could gain with a knurled skirt?
Thank you I’ll give them a call in the morning. I did some research on piston knurling too. That’s a pretty cool concept. How do you knurl yours? Does the knurling hold up long?
@@attack0321 We have a knurling tool for our lathe. Yeah it's just supposed to minimize piston slap, keeping the piston from cocking too much in the bore.

@@attack0321 .030 is a lot of wear. Call Martin parts & repair, 574-598-6083, they have oversize pistons for 1010 gas, not cheap.

Absolutely!
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 great! I've been getting more of your videos in the feed and saw the 70 pulling. Amazing engine work!
Do I see a set of cut tires for a garden tractor puller?
Yes, we cut- sharpen tires, and the boys build engines and components for compact turbo diesel pullers.
Louie put a 806 fuel pump on his 560 it would rev
You ever gonna get Hazardous back out?
We pull at our local Fair with it from time to time. We want to freshin' it up a bit and up grade the turbo.
Must of put motor out of 7720 combine in it
Yep, had one layin' around when the 4010s original gas engine spun bearings.

How much for the farmall
The boys had hoped to get $6,500 for it, they got way more than that in machine work, parts, and labor.
o brother be carefull or that 4010 will turn the feed grinder to scrap metal
more !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will when l get time!
