Lord willing you’ll get it done ,winter time is a good time to get projects done. I’ve got a couple to do myself hopefully get them done before spring time. Ps so looking forward to when time changes back and warmer temperatures lol
How-D-Dew Mr. Bill! What a tour, I hate to admit it, but I think you have even more projects on the back burner than I do! We too are looking at making a move South. Liking the look of Southern Indiana. The move will force some huge changes in my lifestyle which in turn may allow me more freedom to travel some. If you end up in Tennessee, we will have to get our heads together…. Just imagine all of the world’s problems we could provide solutions to!😳 Bless’ns to ya my good man, Tedd
Tedd!! Great to hear from you! I hope your move is successful and a positive thing for you and yours. Get our heads together? The mind reels at the possibilities!😳
@@meandthemrs7403 Being a native of the Deep South… Of Michigan, I have always appreciated Indiana. Dad raised registered Percheron draft horses, so we traveled to Northern Indiana a lot for stud services in the seventies. Between corporate farms and green energy companies, it’s getting very discouraging to continue farming here. The farm and aging parents are what has kept me here, but I feel a calling to move. Hoping for something Southeast of Indianapolis. Bless’ns to you, Tedd
The key to building a shop is to make it 3X bigger than you think you need, and just past what you can afford. They are never big enough if you built for what you need today. If you have a 4 row planter, build the shop for a 12 row to fit in, because you will be kicking yourself when your kid joins the farm. And it's the same with the shop you have, Bill. Them boys done took all your space! 👍👍🤣🤣
Awesome cool ole stuff Bill, always enjoy looking and the ole JD and other antique parts, I would love to have ole Popping Johnny JD tractor to pull in the antique tractors pulls, but just can’t seem afford one, maybe one day, God Bless
We have always run either a block with crank driven oil pump or now we run an oil pump out front that runs off a cog belt. We had a bearing go bad years ago and found that the crank had a crack in it. Then I made a billet crankshaft and we have about .005 clearance in the rods and .006 in the mains. The extra clearance seems to allow some extra oil to leak by and cool the crank journals. You just need a big pump to overcome all the leakage. We run about 100 psi at idle and more when it revs up. Havnt had a bearing problem since and we run them 3 or 4 years and lots of pulls and sometimes pulling down to 1800 rpm at the end. We start out about 5200 rpm.
Great Video, Bill. I’m glad I’m not the only one that has a list of projects to do a mile long. I can’t throw away good stuff either. You have a nice collection. Was the farm going to stay in the family if you moved to another shop? Thanks for the Videos, Bill. I really enjoy them.
@ sad to hear your leaving your family farm. Been in the family for quite a few years. Is the residential housing moving in, making it impossible to keep farming?
I love old stuff too and I will never get rid of any of it but you have to take two days move all the old stuff in the one building, and start wrenching in another.. just do it and get it done
Nice look see, lots a cool stuff. Projects? It's part of how I keep things i should sell or give to a good home or heaven forgive scrap. Now a days i focus on what my son wants to do. I'm sure you know what i mean
Your videos take me back to my youth. I recognize a lot of tractors in your old videos. So, a question i remember tom savage, Gladhill's service manager running Delaware ether eater. Was Mr. savage original owner and builder or just worked on it? Fredrick was fun, you could be at Gladhill's and walk across street to h b DuVall ( IH) and see flock farms 1466 SS sitting in shop. Saw your video about your first pull, mine was when i was about 14 and Gladhill's daughter beat me bad on their unstyled Jd A.
Mr Bill i saw on the news Larry Hogan took video of a bunch of drones, from his home in Davudsonville Md. Have you guys seen any? We have seen a few over here on the easternshore.

Love Southern Indiana. Wish I could move there. There are some very remote areas down there. I'm in Northern Madison County.

When we move, the farm will be sold after we're finished moving everything. It could take 2 or 3 years.

@@douglasmayherjr.5733 This will be the 99th year, yes, it is no longer a farming community.

All you need is to make a little bit of room that all
With a big oil pump maybe you need spacers under the intake screen. I would say 3/4 an inch off the pan
Hey Jason! Yeah, 3/4" sounds about right.

Haven't seen or heard any yet.
I haven't laid eyes on the Ether Eater in a lot of years!!!!!
You could build a shop as big as the world and still not have enough room.
First!😂😂😂
