100% agree with your argument for remote turrets... It is after all hundreds of years in the future, you would think it would have dawned on them the benefit of remote turrets and ability of the crew to be able to be located in one area that makes not only communication better but improves chances of survival due to proximity of escape pods. Particularly with the future "death of a spaceman".
Absolutely love the idea of sorting the salvage materials! Definitely adds a nice level of detail to the profession that it's sorely lacking. Also love your idea for the Reclaimer, make it like the Arrastra with an onboard "refinery" but for sorting reclaimed materials, definitely room on board to do it.
I can't wait for the Arrastra! It has pretty much all the quality of life changes I need in a mining ship and killer looks. We just need another salvage ship that isnt the Vulture
I've been dreaming of a Mole-ish size salvage ship since the profession was announced. Vulture is too small, and the Reclaimer is just too damn big imho. Hopefully some day!
I like your idea on sorting salvaged materials. It doesn't make sense to take it to a refinery or other defined industrial centers we already have but I think Dumpers Depot and other shops that are thematically second hand parts shops (even though that's not a mechanic yet) it would make some sense that they would have the capacity to sort the material. If I remember correctly the Dumpers Depot shop at Area 18 have a ship being dismantled in the back of the shop so they seem the logical people to do this sort of work.
The Endeavour pilot vessel would make a great space prime mover (like the Nostromo from Alien) for huge home base/refinery/industrial platforms. We need something that can connect and pilot larger structures that are not independently mobile.
What do yall think will be more effective as a profession Mining or Salvage Im thinking about getting either a reclaimer or arrasta next go around and I'm fine with either gameloop?
for the hover stuff i think itl be much better to drive around when they finish the planet terrain and fix the wheel physics if they kind of push wheeled vehicles away then why even use hover vehicles and just use a ship at that point? ships are faster than hovers
The new atmospheric flight model will make hovering in a ship waste a ton of fuel that's why I advocate for dedicated hover vehicles and wheel vehicles will still have a place in tight quarters like caves and distribution centers because hover vehicles will be to fast, it solves so many problems and I will never understand the push back it gets lol

Is it me or does the Pioneer look like a futuristic Giant 3D printing machine?
Swiss Army Ship
@@Glathgrundel it has a tooth pick somewhere in it lol
That’s because it literally is that.

Thank you! I wondered if anyone else would like that, it just seems to me like it would be the right amount of complexity people are looking :)
The galaxy is a really interesting ship and probably the one I’m most excited for

They promise to come in 12 months but it is cig. Not before 2025 q2 for me

Yes it would really make those locations feel more functional :)

o7 ... perhaps also a Vulcan

Maybe for hover vehicles the higher you go (up to a point) the slower you travel, Your choice
Where is oddysey????
I am saving that one for the exploration ships video :)
cool. thx
to be made make a requirement for players have to expand their brains meterology, chemistry, other scientific comprehension for or minning salvage
