Great looking van congratulations. We looked at Zone and was very impressed however we went with Kedron. The Kedron does have disk brakes and ESC fitted together. Looking forward to seeing where you take the Zone and how well it handles.
Kedrons are also a great van, they were too heavy to be an option for us! See you out there 😊

Congrats on the new van guys. Looks awesome. A word of warning though, don’t rush out and give your levelling ramps away. They come in very handy to use on the car for those occasions you stay connected and want a little extra height on the car.

Hi, that's great advice. We don't use ramps but our maxtrax come in very handy with the car for that extra levelling. Carrying them anyway
Well done guys - easy to see why zone are winning the hearts and minds of full time 'influencers' and committed van lovers. Tell me have they addressed the handful of keys normally provided at handover? I will be won over for the first manufacturer who can customise and key alike all the hatches. Happy travels ahead.

Don’t reckon you’d be putting too much in that tool box, jerry can full of fuel, diesel tank full, gas bottles, wood on top and staying within your ball weight limit
When they design the Zone vans, they overcompensate weight into the back of the van which allows you to add additional kilos to put into your toolbox and front. Gone are the days of an overweight front end at handover before you even load weight onto it! The engineering behind this van is next level! You’ll be surprised just how much we can put in there 😉👏🏻

Wow, you've joined two of my favourite TH-cam travellers now have zones, I now have 3 favourite travellers in zones. So great to see and it's really exciting. If you're ever in central Queensland again we'll be starting a hipcamp camp on our cattle property soon, just in the process of getting some sites pegged out. Heaps of 4x4 tracks and mountains and stars, and if it doesn't happen we'll enjoy following you guys as always. Looking forward to the inside tour of your zone next week.

I'm so keen to see how well this go the distance - I've seen lots of them off-road for once-off touring shows etc but you guys and the FGF will be able to show how it goes and ages over a longer term trip!! Congratulations - they are an amazingly beautiful van!

Calling that an outdoor kitchen is a bit of a stretch, it’s a cupboard
Has no sink, no real cooking facility (you can put an induction element anywhere)
It’d make a great bar 😉

Understand your thoughts, how about we call it the outdoor cooking/drinking Larry’s bar and being out of the elements area? 😂😛 haha but technically it’s a pretty bad bar too with no fridge 😉 we will definitely make good use of it and maybe even rename it ourselves 😄

Hi guys this has come up a few times in other posts, not this group I don't think.
However it's illegal to use a bbq on the gas bayonet without a flame out unit. All BBQs have to have a gas arester fitted if run from the bayonet fittings on a van Just saying🙂
I just bought a new baby Q and then found out the new regulations.
So now I will run the BBQ on a bottle until Weber get this sorted with the compliance.
Your Ziggy original doesnt have this feature.
Unfortunately, not. Flame Failure Technology is only available on the Ziggy Portable Nomad Series. The flame failure model has a number of different parts to the standard model including the valve, burner, cooking grill, sensor probe and heatshields. Gas valve changes can only be done by an authorised person.
We’re aware and chose to use the Ziggy anyway, we have a nomad coming so it’s only temporary now 😊

Chris - Alko ESC absolutely works with disc brakes - works exceptionally well in fact.
Since learnt it’s a Cruisemaster thing, they don’t have it yet :)

Oh and no, we had no diesel heater or diesel on board before as our car and chainsaw are petrol. The diesel heater is a new thing for us going forward

Great job. We bought our 1st caravan and it's been a horrible experience....and it wasn't a cheapy either! We've learnt a lot like you guys! Zone are definitely on the wish list. Look forward to the weigh in and the price tag (ish). 👍🎉🍻
Sometimes the bad things are a good thing so you can learn for the next venture/van. Without problems we would be none the wiser on how things work etc! Hope it all sorts it’s self out guys 🙏🏻

Good vans, average suspension
I wouldn't say suspension is average, but I'd definitely take a decent load sharing Roller Rocker suspension over the suspension on this Zone any day of the week
@@i_bite that's what I meant. These fancy new suspensions offer no advantage whatsoever and is simply marketing at its finest
But does that auto level itself at a campsite? 😉 That is the biggest reason we are SO excited for airbags 😍🙌🏻

I actually have BOS stabilisers so can level side to side with my drill in a matter of minutes (in very similar fashion to airbags).

Drum brakes actually have better braking force generally- how ever disc brakes have better cooling ability and you loose friction with higher heat

Awesome van. TBM? Tare? ATM? Length? I also like that the electrically are outside and not taking up an inside cupboard making it basically redundant as storage.
Some weight info coming next episode however official weigh in at the end of the month which we will film too! Agree the electrical set up is next level and really has storage for the user in mind 👏🏻

It feels like the longest wait but it’s the best when you get it! We chose to stay with a manual awning as we used to it, personal choice I guess and also you can strap down a manual one! As you know we go to some pretty crazy places and if the weather isn’t right, we really need to be able to strap it

I follow a few traveller's, I have noticed that they seem to start with hybrids but then change to RV type of van.
What is your reason for this?
This van I looked to purchase but I would need do GCM upgrade on new Ford Everest, just wonder which car you using and if you upgraded GCM?

Welcome.to the Zone life. Aren't they just the best. The dust protection is more along the lines of a triple seal. We love our base.
I hope you touch on the technology of the composite 4 panel build that other vans claim. I think that's what sold us on our Zone. No timber or ply of any sort. We love that it is more apartment looking rather than caravan looking inside also.

There must be another reason for the drum brakes. AL-KO does ESC for disc brakes.
Cruisemaster currently don’t offer ESC with the disc brake ATX suspension. We have also gone drums with Esc for this reason on our Sojourn.
Yeah it’s a Cruisemaster thing! Not sure why but apparently they’re working on it
Nice vid. We ordered a Peregrine back in March so still waiting. What’s the tunnel door height both with and without slide. Just want to see if my Weber will fit.

We didn’t look at the vacationer but considered Kedron for a short while however they aren’t very modern and have weights suitable for a small truck when it comes to towing, way too heavy for us 😅

Hi Guys, love your content. question on the Zone, I recall you getting your set up weighted recently. I'm considering a Zone Peregrine Summit and noticed the ball weight on delivery without water was 290kg. One of the issues I have with my current van is ball weight I can only travel with the rear tank to be legal. I was keen to be better understand the weights once your gear is loaded and water. Any insights would be appreciated. Any thing else I should know before putting my order in. Things you would do next time or wouldn't.

Hey Derek, thanks so much for the support! Re-the awning we’ve gone with a manual as it can be tied down. Electric awnings can’t be tied. We end up in some pretty crazy places and that’s something which was important to us plus we are familiar with the manual awning and it’s one less electrical item that can go wrong on the external of the van
You do have ESC with Disk brakes, but you don’t get individual braking (side to side) when it starts to sway both brakes come on to slow the van and eliminate sway, new system is coming which is two hydraulic actuators one for each side , BUT LOVE YOUR VAN

Congratulations guys, nice van! Just wondering about the front door on a Sojourn. They don't show them like that on the website, is it because it's a bunk van?
The couples version of the Sojourn has the door at the rear, to compensate for bunks it gets moved 😊

No just the full size vans at this stage but I believe later this year they’re bringing out an expedition which is very different

No satellite dish, there is an antenna, we have Internet plans though! Stay tuned for that :)
