Small correction Chris. High octane fuel actually burns slower than the 91 your using. High compression engines require the higher octane fuel to prevent detonation in the engine combustion chambers. High octane fuel also has a high calorific value which means you get more energy from the same volume of fuel. Not quite sure why your fuel consumption is down using the higher octane fuel. My Y62 towing uses far less 98 than 91 especially when towing. Cheers and safe travels!

Actually Matilda was part of the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games! It actually ended up at Puma servo at Tugun for a while before heading back north. A well traveled Roo 😂

Hi guys....noticed you don't cross your tow hitch chains as a cradle to catch hitch/A frame digging into road surface if attachment separates.

Awesome episode as usual, great to see you back on the road. Matilda was at the puma at Kybong (the changeover point for Greyhound coaches) on the 'Old Bruce Highway ' before the works on the bypass was done, then it was shifted after they constructed the new Roadhouse.

Great to see the excitement on your faces being on the road again. One thing I noticed on this video, being on the road full time why you have not done one of the mods that would make your life so much easier? Towing mirrors like Clearview or MSR? Just wondering your thoughts on it. Enjoy the rest of your maiden voyage in the new van.👍👍👍

Why didn’t you wrap the bonnet ? To make it all match?

  • @frankguernier2280
    @frankguernier2280 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

I don't know. The cost of that wrap would be as much as a paint job. The ones I gave seen go a little yellow over a few years and the edges start to lift.
I would have just cut and polished then spray it over before selling . But each to their own. Cheers.

Hey Chris, do you have a link for the tow hitch you bought ? I think I need a new one to allow the Stone stomper to attach. My Hayman Reese one ,is flush up on the mounting point on my Y62 tow bar. Van looks epic, congrats. We are now in our new Titanium and getting things ready for kick off January 2023.

I would love to see how the wrap is in a few months after some sun and weather with regard to the deeper scratches. Very impressive though 👍
    So nice and shiny 💖
Love the Chucky Chicken alternative 🍗
    🤤
Jack and Jayda are just growing up so fast 😊

I used to drink a lot of chai latte.
My granddaughter is 11 now, when she was 3, I introduced her to chai latte. Her mother doesn't like her having chai latte. My granddaughter misses the chais. My granddaughter absolutely loves chai latte.

We completely understand your feelings regarding preferring country driving to city driving especially towing a caravan . We are city living people but much prefer getting out of the city . Living in WA we spoilt for outback destinations . Enjoy your travel to where ever you go and we will follow you there .

All my experiences with 95 or 98 have produced greater range than 91. In most cases the usage was very close to the same $/ km.

Yea I also agree as I am towing with a Y62. As a matter of fact his comment saying high octane fuel burns quicker couldn’t be further from the truth. High octane fuel is used in high compression engines to prevent detonation. The fuel burns slower and is more controlled during the burning process. It also has a higher calorific value hence the reasons for better performance and economy.

Hi Chris and Sian - love your travel videos - they are really entertaining and informative. I have a question for you... You have recently been talking up the benefits of composting toilets. We currently have the standard cassette-type toilet and are wondering about changing it to a composting toilet to help with off-gridability. Here's the question (because I tend to think about the practical things, like what happens when it comes time to empty it) - How long after your last "deposit" (I'm talking number 2s here) do you have to wait before things have composted and it is "safe" to empty the toilet cannister? My understanding is that it is slower than a cassette-style system and am worried that it may take several days.

You know,we’ve hooked our TV via Bluetooth to the fusion but there’s a slight delay with dubbing. We then added an aux cable and there’s still a dubbing issue but less. So if you can crack the code let us know!!!

Love your channel but at 17 minutes in the video your daughter ran straight out onto the road from behind a parked vehicle without looking. Don't mean to be a nark but it could of resulted in a terrible accident. Keep up the great work, and safe travels.
