I was about to die from an overdose in my apartment in Miami all alone after so many different drugs…I went to grab my phone and I couldn’t even see what I pressed and out of no where TH-cam started and this song played. My heart was beating out of my chest and then the room turned white and I felt at peace. My heart slowed down and I survived. Jesus Christ is real people. He saved my life.!!!

My husband unexpectedly passed away two months ago. He was the love of my life, best friend, and soulmate. He was the absolute best husband. We played this song at his celebration of life service. The grief can be overwhelming, but this song is helping me heal. It reminds me that he is fully healed with Jesus and I will see him again one day.

Why would want to be heaven now and see our family members struggle and keep feeling pain here on earth with darkness, corruption, deception, false teacher? The word tells us to STUDY SCRIPTURE FOR OURSELVES. We are to check on all that a pastor, teachers say, to see if it lines up with what Christ says. We must get Right and Stay Right so we can be with love ones that make it to heaven when Christ returns. Genesis 5:24 Enoch and 2 Kings 2:11 Elijah are in heaven. King David was a man after God heart, and he isn't in heaven, and good blessed Job isn't in heaven, at least not mention.

It took me a while to listen to this song. I lost my 17 year old son 3 months ago today. I am finally able to listen to this song all the way through. I do shed tears, but it helps me to cry and brings comfort to me that I’ll see my precious Michael again one beautiful day. Jesus is definitely holding me right now during this early grieving process. I can’t make it without Jesus.

I heard this song while my wife was in the hospital. After she passed away, I took one song out of her funeral arrangement and added Scars in Heaven. During the service I got up and stood by her urn and sang this song to her. I play it every day. It said the perfect words from me to my wife.

Hello 👋 everyone l have lost my mom i have lost my baby girl at 30 weeks old a while now but I still misses both of them 😢 but I have found my self having alot of depressed days. I am so happy a few years back when I was listening to Klove and I heard one of casting crowns songs 🎵 at that time it was just released , I bought the song and I liked it, over the years I have listened to casting crowns and their songs bring joy to my heart and soul I was broken inside and am beginning to heal day by day, I know alot of you out there have lost love ones and have been going through alot of stress but I truly believe, our God he is a way maker, miracle worker promised keeper and he will never leave you or forsake you just keep your faith in our God everything is possible just keep believing in him and have faith ❤️ one of my favorite is the only scars in heaven

My Sister told me about this song a few weeks ago. I'm a Pastor of a Church, and I lost my wife to cancer in September 2020. It still feels like yesterday. We were married 41 years. I've cried just about everyday. But this song comforts me because I know she's in heaven with Jesus. It's only the strength of the Lord that upholds me and knowing I'll see her again.

God loves us more than we love our own children. Much, much more. So let me ask you? Do you still love your son? Would you let him back into your home if he were still here? Yes, and yes. YOU SAW them working long and laboring hard to receive the grace by justification even though YOU stated, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent."(John 6:29 KJV) YOU SAW the unwillingness to accept YOUR PLAN OF SALVATION THROUGH YOUR SON JESUS CHRIST. YOU SAW them living with the guilt of committing crimes to the heart. YOU SAW them enduring personal crisis. YOU SAW the weight of the burden on their hearts with each tribulation. YOU SAW them seeking comfort from the above mentioned topography, ONE OF THE MANY MARVELS YOUR PERFECT HANDS HAVE MADE. 👏👏👏 YOU SAW their worries about tomorrow.
If their hearts were a window that they could look through, oh the pains and scars they would see. What a cruel fate the skin gives as a mask to the inward pain. But the skin couldn’t cover THE SUFFERING YOUR ONE AND ONLY SON BORED on the cross as PAYMENT for all our sins because HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ALONE HAD THE MERIT TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF YOUR HOLINESS. Indeed, ONLY HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IS SUFFICIENT TO SAVE us from this present evil world as evidenced by Mary's song of praise. Despite this conviction, YOU ARE MINDFUL of them as evidenced by the fact that YOUR JUDGEMENT is not speedy, allowing them to pursue the desires of the flesh.
They are aware of hypocrisy in religious assemblies that like to be seen and heard. In addition, secular education teaches that there is no right and wrong, if GOD exists there is no way of relating to HIM, and moral standards shift according to the whims of fashion. Therefore, their minds are conditioned to question everything this world has to offer including “THY POWER THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSE DISPLAYED.” They have accepted the heavy burden of dealing with the troubles of this life and seek to know another way, YOU THE GREAT COMFORTER TO ALL who did receive YOU as their personal SAVIOR. Still, YOU have shown them NEW MERCY every day with each thought they make and each breath they take.
Unfortunately, like the prodigal son, we are all guilty of wandering far from YOU LORD because the negative experiences of our lives tend to build roadblocks to the TRUTH. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them to identify the way, truth, and eternal life (that is YOU). Since to know and follow your SPIRIT is more exciting than any 007 movies, and YOU DELIGHT MAKING the ordinary into extraordinary. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST MAKE them understand that there is no way around YOUR TRUTH, and that there is something about YOUR NAME. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them defeat in their minds what is false in YOUR EYES.
LORD GUIDE their thoughts to know that the path of sin is hard on their hearts for the purpose of crying out to YOU to know the joy, peace of having the heavy burden LIFTED by THE GOD OF PEACE I AM, and ANCHOR their souls in THE HAVEN OF REST. In other words, LORD use the storms in their lives to get a hold of them to trust YOU and believe. In truth, YOU ARE THE JOY that seekest them through pain.
LORD HELP their fainting hearts to believe that YOU, who was slain on the cross over 2000 years ago has the POWER TO CHANGE lives today through the INSTANTANEOUS GREAT FAVOR from GOD to the house of Israel made known in believers by YOU to make YOUR NAME EVERLASTING. 🥰 For as the statue liberates the citizens so the cross liberates the soul. ONLY YOU can calm the trouble waters of the mind when one admits to wanting salvation from one’s sinful nature, JESUS IS LORD, and believes in the heart that GOD RAISED HIM from the dead TO LIFT the heavy burden of sin's guilt away from the heart in accordance to YOUR WORD found in Psalm 51:1-10 KJV. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 O, the wonder of it all to experience within the flesh the feeling of a tree being cut back/pruned in order for it to grow stronger and more beautiful after meditating on the words of said Psalm. 🥰🙌
LORD MAKE them know that ONLY YOUR HOLY SPIRIT, through the experience of a new birth within believers, can prevent the family circle from being broken because THE HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE YOU HAVE GRANTED means a chapter of their lives is decided. Creation sings the rebirth song for them yearly, through YOUR PROMISE of springtime, giving rise to the idea that by the mention of YOUR NAME flowers grow, and the desert blooms again. 🥰
LORD GUIDE their understanding of words to use to come into YOUR PRESENCE with an honest reverence of WHO YOU ARE to experience the beauty that time can't erase YOUR WISDOM resting on their faces. LORD STRENGTHEN their determination to never waiver in efforts to search for YOU because the wages of sin is too high for anyone to pay. Additionally, THE KING OF KINGS is needed in their hearts to learn how to expand their capacity to love for YOU are LOVE in any language. 🥰 Once they learn to speak it with boldness through YOUR WONDERFUL COUNSELING all the world will hear, and know that LOVE is the language of their hearts. So LORD, KEEP KNOCKING on their door until they let YOU in to know hardships and struggles will end with a GREAT CELEBRATION WITH YOU. 🥰🙌
If one believes faith cannot be forced, YOU WILL GIVE that individual over to the stubborn heart to follow own counsel which will surely fail him or her to the extent that the punishment will last forever found in Psalms 81 NIV. Given this, I pray that YOU WILL MAKE that person see that this feeling is wasted for a world in which we become strangers as we age, gives us thrills instead of peace, aims to solve a problem but creates another, and unrest surges with each passing generation. Shed some light into their broken hearts for YOU ARE THE GREAT JEHOVAH, THE GOD THAT HEALETH thee.
Lastly, LORD when they call on YOU in earnest prayer to come into their hearts to be born again (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life), I pray that YOU WILL GIVE them the blessed assurance of their salvation because nothing breaks YOUR HEART, or tears YOU apart like when they cry from the trials of the devil who comes to slander, falsely accuse, steal, kill & destroy. Only by drawing nearer to YOU LORD will put them on a path to a glorious one way trip winding upward to YOU where pain is not welcome because the heart will never break anymore. For ONLY YOU UNDERSTANDS our tears since YOU LOOK at the heart, while humans look at the flesh.
O LOVE that will not let them go. When they don't have the strength to try, and have cried all they can cry hear their hearts that need YOU more today than yesterday. Many thanks LORD for speaking TRUTH in our lives TO BLESS those who are not offended by THEE. LET YOUR WILL BE DONE because YOUR LOVE ALONE CONQUERS everything by WAITING for them to cease struggling, and finally surrender to YOUR EMBRACE to learn about YOUR LOVE AND PROMISE TO TAKE CARE of your children exquisitely. 🥰 Since... That's what people tell me too. Since my husband's death I have found that the Bible truly came to life! When God spoke of "The two would become"ONE FLESH" Throughout these years since his death I realized that I'm not so much "a widow" but an amputee! Half of me is gone and nothing can make me whole again. Just bidding my time and waiting to join him with our Lord and I want so much for him to be proud of me for "hanging in there" and making it until we see each other again. I am so sorry for both of your losses. I too lost my husband just a year and a half ago, and this song is now my favorite, but wow, do the tears flow! My husband passed just one week after being admitted to the hospital, and finding out he had liver cancer was a shock...the biggest shock was it was so advanced, and that he was too far gone and weak for treatment to even save his life. Was thankful that he didn't suffer long, but at the same time felt so cheated and helpless all at once.

I can't imagine your pain, but I do believe in something other than this world. I've seen several psychics to deal with my loss and some were obvious fakes but there was one that told me things that nobody knew but the one I lost. It made me hope that there is a day we will find our loved ones again.

If I could talk to Casting Crowns members I would tell them that this song was the song I chose for my husbands funeral (2 weeks ago) because the lyrics touched so deep. Your song has touched me and everyone at his celebration of life with full force. I can never listen to this song without crying both with sadness and also joy, sadness because If I had only known the Last Time would be the last Time, and Joy because my husband now has both legs which were amputated 7 years ago after a motorcycle accident. I would often tell him that in Heaven he will have his legs, and no scars. Bill was doing great the day before then suddenly he died. Prior to that I had had him listen to Scars In Heaven and it brought him a smile to his face. I love this song and Thank first God for allowing you all to create such heartfelt words and put the perfect melody to it. Your songs will touch millions more people. Mayb you find the wisdom and the guidance you need for every step of the way and the strength to do the right thing. In Jesus Name Amen. With your family member who has dementia, you may know this already, some things you have to accept they have forgotten because each time you remind them that is not the case, you take them back through things over and over each time. It is sometimes best to just go with what they think is true. If they ever forget you as a member of their family, if they think you are the cleaner and you keep reminding them I'm your child etc then realise it is best to let go and be the best cleaner friend you can image. Then say As your cleaner, can I be part of your family like a real son / daughter? Play along if it works out that they treat the cleaner nicely. Hope this makes sense. God bless

Aug 30 will be the 3 year anniversary of losing my 28 year old son. He died 2 days after I put my dad in a home for dementia. The comfort I take is knowing I will see him again. Jesus is our strength, and I know I could not have got through it without him. But each time the tears came (and still come from time to time), I feel His comfort as He reminds me that He's got my son and now my dad as well, in His care. Much love and strength to you as you go through this tough time. *hugs*

I lost my son almost a year ago on 11/01/2020, a motorcycle accident. At the time his favorite song was THERE WAS JESUS. Nothing has been as difficult as losing one's best friend, helper, deepest love, my faithful, a true Queen in Heaven. This song briefly speaks of our pain, but points us to Jesus, who will make all things right and who will bear the scars of humanity and forgiveness forever. You speak right from my heart, remember, too, though, that these things you mentioned, you grieve those, too. I grieve my ability to walk. I grieve the cognitive strength and memories, good and bad, that I lost in surgery for my tumors, or in comas fighting to live only to have to learn a new way to live. Again. The ones that I have let go of that makes this song pierce my heart, weren't the only things that taught me about grief.

This was played at my first grandpa's funeral, and it was really hard for me to get back to being ok to listen to the song. Then, not even 10 months later, I lost my other grandpa. We played the song again at his funeral because the message in the song is an amazing and very comforting thing. They both struggled so much near the end of their lives, and now, I know they're both in the Lord's arms with no struggles, no pain.

My fiancé died 7 weeks ago. He got an infection, fought it for 25 days, he couldn’t beat it. He never regained consciousness after a week in the hospital. I was with him when he passed. I’m still devastated & very lost.

Hi Lisa. I lost my oldest son 12 years ago. Although it does get easier it never goes away. You will always miss him but thank God we have the hope of seeing them again one day in Heaven. My Mom passed away 12 days ago. The pain of grief gets so overwhelming sometimes, but there is Hope. I have met grief counselors through Hospice, and I found a grief support group at a local church. It seems that so much of this will be walked out alone. I have Jesus, it just seems so hard, cause it is hard. Just telling someone I'm not going to give up can help. I'll get some more counseling, and I have friends to support, and I'm not going to give up. I listen to Casting Crowns often all night. God uses it to minister to my hurt. Won't give up!

YOU SAW them seeking comfort from the above mentioned topography, ONE OF THE MANY MARVELS YOUR PERFECT HANDS HAVE MADE. 👏👏👏 YOU SAW their worries about tomorrow.
If their hearts were a window that they could look through, oh the pains and scars they would see. What a cruel fate the skin gives as a mask to the inward pain. But the skin couldn’t cover THE SUFFERING YOUR ONE AND ONLY SON BORED on the cross as PAYMENT for all our sins because HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ALONE HAD THE MERIT TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF YOUR HOLINESS. Indeed, ONLY HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IS SUFFICIENT TO SAVE us from this present evil world as evidenced by Mary's song of praise. Therefore, their minds are conditioned to question everything this world has to offer including “THY POWER THROUGHOUT THE UNIVERSE DISPLAYED.” They have accepted the heavy burden of dealing with the troubles of this life and seek to know another way, YOU THE GREAT COMFORTER TO ALL who did receive YOU as their personal SAVIOR. Still, YOU have shown them NEW MERCY every day with each thought they make and each breath they take.
Unfortunately, like the prodigal son, we are all guilty of wandering far from YOU LORD because the negative experiences of our lives tend to build roadblocks to the TRUTH. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them to identify the way, truth, and eternal life (that is YOU). Since to know and follow your SPIRIT is more exciting than any 007 movies, and YOU DELIGHT MAKING the ordinary into extraordinary. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST MAKE them understand that there is no way around YOUR TRUTH, and that there is something about YOUR NAME. As time marches on, JESUS CHRIST HELP them defeat in their minds what is false in YOUR EYES.
LORD GUIDE their thoughts to know that the path of sin is hard on their hearts for the purpose of crying out to YOU to know the joy, peace of having the heavy burden LIFTED by THE GOD OF PEACE I AM, and ANCHOR their souls in THE HAVEN OF REST. In other words, LORD use the storms in their lives to get a hold of them to trust YOU and believe. In truth, YOU ARE THE JOY that seekest them through pain.
LORD HELP their fainting hearts to believe that YOU, who was slain on the cross over 2000 years ago has the POWER TO CHANGE lives today through the INSTANTANEOUS GREAT FAVOR from GOD to the house of Israel made known in believers by YOU to make YOUR NAME EVERLASTING. 🥰 For as the statue liberates the citizens so the cross liberates the soul. Given this, I pray that YOU WILL MAKE that person see that this feeling is wasted for a world in which we become strangers as we age, gives us thrills instead of peace, aims to solve a problem but creates another, and unrest surges with each passing generation. Shed some light into their broken hearts for YOU ARE THE GREAT JEHOVAH, THE GOD THAT HEALETH thee.
Lastly, LORD when they call on YOU in earnest prayer to come into their hearts to be born again (repentance manifesting itself in a changed life), I pray that YOU WILL GIVE them the blessed assurance of their salvation because nothing breaks YOUR HEART, or tears YOU apart like when they cry from the trials of the devil who comes to slander, falsely accuse, steal, kill & destroy. Only by drawing nearer to YOU LORD will put them on a path to a glorious one way trip winding upward to YOU where pain is not welcome because the heart will never break anymore. For ONLY YOU UNDERSTANDS our tears since YOU LOOK at the heart, while humans look at the flesh.
O LOVE that will not let them go. When they don't have the strength to try, and have cried all they can cry hear their hearts that need YOU more today than yesterday. I lost my husband of 11 years and 15 years of being together, and 23 years of knowing eachother on May 16th. We have 3 little kids together, 8, 5 year old sons & 4 month old daughter. I was at your concert in Wheeling, WV tonight and heard you guys sing this song. It was the first time I truly cried in almost 4 years. My dad had passed away in 2019 and everyday I always thought I should've hung out more with him or talk to him more. When he died, I burst out crying and haven't cried since then as my depression just blocked my emotions from coming out. I know a man who always tried to treat his mother well. He was a real good person. One day his mom visited him and asked him to fix her battery cable as she left. He complained a little but fixed it. Luckily he told her he loved her as she left. The next day she ran off the road and the car rolled in a pasture and cut her in pieces.

My story is similar to yours. My dad lost to cancer this past July also, it was difficult to see him in pain and waste away. Today, January 1st, is his birthday. We miss him, but can't ask for him back. He is no longer suffering and is in the arms of Jesus. This song is difficult to listen to, yet comforting knowing that he is in glory.

My brother died, an extremely violent death, in September of 2021. It was after days of turmoil that I listened to this song and prayed for peace. I became “still” before the Lord. My mom just passed away of cancer. She raised me as a single parent and passed when i was 14. The Lord healed her the first time she Got it. but 6 months later, it came back again, i knew he could heal her again. And to this day, 4 months later i still wrestle with the question 'why?". And I may never know that answer but what i do know is, if he can bring my mom out of drug addiction, then he can bring me out of greif. I trust his plan and i listen to this song whenever i want to feel close to her.
2 weeks ago my wife's brother in law was killed in an accident and her sister has been in intensive care. Unfortunately, like the prodigal son, we are all guilty of wandering far from YOU LORD because the negative experiences of our lives tend to build roadblocks to the TRUTH. Since to know and follow your SPIRIT is more exciting than any 007 movies, and YOU DELIGHT MAKING the ordinary into extraordinary. I first heard this song 3 yrs ago on my car radio just days after my husband died. I had to pull off the road and sob. It felt as though it was written for me. I had left my husband in the er to go home to accept delivery of hospice equipment. He was at the end of a long journey with cancer. He was to be brought home by ambulance. His nurse called and said i should come. He was not responsive when i arrived but i got to hold his hand and talk to him for the last 20 minutes of his life. I still cry every time i hear this song but i also am comforted by its message. I know where my husband is and I know I will see him again. Thank you Jesus for your scars.

I dedicate this song to my daughter, that was murdered 7 yrs ago, this Dec 5th. Jesus has took the band of depression away, and has put joy into my life again. I know my daughter is no longer being wounded by the enemy, but she is now resting in our Lord's presence. I just came home from placing flowers on my wife’s grave. She’s been gone a month today. I lost her to a tragic accident at work. @castingcrowns It feels like you wrote this for me. Thank you so much! My heart isn’t torn though, it’s destroyed. I’m alone in this world now. I’m struggling to understand why. I’m convinced it was not her time. She’s a victim of our fallen world. I don’t serve a stingy God who strips people from us just because. Still I ask, why?💔
