Good advice Dale. Back in the 70's if I had a fox caught I carried a gallon pail with me. Took dirt from where that fox was caught . Took that dirt to a set that had not caught a fox yet. I mixed it in that set. Was deadly.
Great job on the video Dale. I never really thought about taking your used stuff with you. Wow all the info you been giving is awesome. Thank so much . Enjoy the videos Dale. I love the trench set and the skull set. I talked to you on the phone back in February. You replaced the bait I got of yours that I didn't think was good because it was Liquid . Instead of being paste. And then I bought some beaver lures from you... Thanks again👍🏻
Good stuff Dale👍 Back in the 80’s here in Eastern Iowa the ratio was probably 10 foxes for every 1 coyote. Now that ratio has been flipped. I release all foxes today when possible.
Thank you Trapper jdb IA. Yea it was the same here. My fox are coming back now. They're closer to towns now though than before. Thanks for watching my videos. I appreciate it
Golley Sir, your videos are just so informative, I learn something new every video. You just gave me a great idea for a new pipe dream set. I love using those sets, but I'm gonna switch to a 2x2 stake and drill a hole in the side towards the top for lure and try it this season. I'll keep ya posted on results. Thanks for the idea

@@billingsleybrandtrappinglu1531 now Dale you know that everything on the www is the truth!!! LOL Fox are starting to make a come-back up here in NE Iowa on the flat tillable ground. 10 miles away is where the hills and big timber begins. Still lots of fox in the hills but scarce here. If I catch 1 I release them 99% of the time. The Coyotes are killing them I believe and there's no shortage of them. Keep up the good work tho Dale!!!
Coyotes maybe killing a fox now and then but in my opinion the dozer is killing more than anything else. Loss of habitat is the main cause in the decline of red and grey fox both i believe.
@@billingsleybrandtrappinglu1531 that is definitely contributing to their demise without a doubt. Up here farmers are ripping fence rows out so they can another row of crops in. But in the last 10yrs I've seen Coyotes chasin fox across an open field. Usually it a pair of Coyotes or a big male. I never got to see if there was an end or not Dale. Was driving down the highway twice in my semi and other time was a passenger. But by the body language of them all, it looked pretty serious for the fox.
Lots of things it could be John?? Send me some messages and tell more about what you're trying to trap and where you're trying to trap at. Those 2 things can be a big help in figuring out what is going on? Thanks for watching. Go look at some of my other videos. Maybe something in 1 of them would help you??

What do the numbers pertain to on traps? Like a Duke #2 Bridger #2 1 3/4 etc etc
The size of the traps Just Me. Those have been standardized for a couple hundred years now. Alot of pertains to the jaw spread of the trap
