Hi! This is the first of several vintage French décor hunts we'll be embarking on down in Provence, so be sure you've subscribed so you don't miss them !
Thank you for taking us along to the brocante! I look forward to more videos like this in the future. I hope that you both had a Happy Bastille Day!! 🇫🇷
Love the glasses and the coordination. I can't wait to see a day in a life. Can we also get a closet tour haha? I still remember those gorgeous boots:) I'd shop all day there. Gorgeous picture frames, baskets and more. I really really love the unpretentious setup with everything on the ground. Thanks for this amazing video. Looking forward to the next one:)
@@VelvetandToads You are so welcome and going to watch now. I hope in the next few days. So thanks for the encouragement and asking. For now, I am enjoying yours plus others that I enjoy. I just came back from running and feel better. Happy Friday and please have a good weekend:)
Aha, 4.30 If I was there I would have bought the white casserole, its lovely. the yellow basket at 7.22 too, I can see trailing pelargoniums placed in that. I can only sigh . Thank you for a lovely day out.
Thank you Chris! You know, I saw that same white pot again at another brocante later and hesitated once again. I’m always weighing the question of where to put finds! I’m glad you liked the wooden basket. I was wondering if I’d gone mad to have fallen for such a thing 😅
Fun! I went to a flea market today. It was fun to look but I left empty handed. I just didn't see anything I wanted. I'm still on the hunt for the pearl handle cutlery....no luck! I smiled when you said you didn't need anymore books. My books are my treasures but they are beginning to take over my house! As hard as it was, I recently thinned out my collection..Now I have room for more😊
Same here, all I found was that 1946 Jacques Cousteau newsletter. Fortunately it won’t take up too much room in the bookcases! 😅 How did you dispose of your books? I used to give them to friends or donate them, but it seems everyone is in the same boat these days, no more room for books! I guess are electronics now occupy that space 🤔
So excited about all your upcoming French Vintage hunts. There was some lovely finds….I liked the Mortar and Pestal at 4:21 which I think was wooden. I agree with you about the very cute green wooden square basket with the branch handle. At 12:26 I’m not sure what the 2 pictures of the couples were on but they were gorgeous. I loved the basket at 12:59 but I really liked the small head bust for the wall with art. The gorgeous dog at the end looks like a twin for my brothers dog “Scout” that he saved from a cage in Taiwan and bought back to Australia (we all loved very much) and he passed away this year after 13 years here. Thank you for sharing 🐕🐕🐕
I loved the mortar and pestle too! If we owned the house we summer in I would have nabbed it, but in Paris it would take up half my kitchen 😅. I think the couple miniatures were painted on porcelain. The dog at the end was so sweet, a little hard of hearing, had to be close to 13 himself. 🐕
True, this particular one is always small, and even smaller this year. I've got an antiques barns video in the works (I hit four in one day!) where there's a lot more furniture, but it's a few videos down the line. Thank you so much for stopping by :)
It looks interesting but you pan too much and focus too little. When you do stop to look closely at things it's stupid stuff like the ugly vases or the comic or magazines. Please show us quality antiques, unusual hard goods.
You're right about panning too much. I'm working on that. As I've explained in other videos, a vide-grenier is basically a junk sale where the locals drag out whatever they want to get rid of, with a few brocanteurs (professionals that carry slightly better junk) thrown in. The treasure hunt is part of the fun. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Have you seen any of the French Chateaux TH-cam channels? There are lots of them. I suspect you'd enjoy them more.
@@VelvetandToads Sorry, I didnt realize the difference in the types of sales in France. We would call that a yard sale or garage sale in the US. I guess in England they call it a boot sale. I have watched a lot of French sale videos. As long as there is time to have a good look at most things, I enjoy them. However people often focus on what is interesting to them, for example, dishes, and pass too quickly over things I would like to have a better look at. I suppose there is only so much one can capture in a short video.
Yes, the French don’t do garage sales-actually, I take that back, during my thirty years here I have seen one-but they do these collective vide-greniers, literally“attic-emptiers”. Actually, I should do a whole video on the different forms of antiquing and scavenging here. Thanks for the idea. In the meantime, I will work on my iPhone moves.

Ah, my heart when the man was handling the old comic book so roughly

Thank you, I so enjoy your antiquing trips when you share them. Looking forward to your next one too!
Thank you for taking us along. I love seeing your life in France and I’m looking forward to your new videos.
A bientôt.
Thank you Marie, more coming up!
Love brocantes, good deals, talking, following one's instinct ! A beautiful illustration of these peaceful moments. Thanks
With beautifully framed engraved illustrations to go along with it! Thank!

Thanks so much! You’re in luck, just posted a day in the life! When will we see more from you?

Fun time at brocante with you
Oh good, I have another one in Aix en Provence coming up a few videos down the line!
Good friend 👌💐🤝🇴🇲🇵🇰🤝💐
Thanks for visiting
I'd love to see the prices.
Several people have told me that! I’ll try to be better about including prices in the future. Thanks for stopping by!
Umm 🤔 No furniture, brocante to small?

PS, what kinds of things would you like to have a better look at, assuming I come across them?
@@VelvetandToadsYes, that would be an interesting video. You could also include the different kinds of stores like second hand, thrift, charity, etc.
