    I'm so on board with the philosophy behind the "ressourcerie."

    I can’t believe you came out w/o a pottery jug of some sort! That 25euro pottery vase took my breath away and “oh God oh God” came out of my mouth thru the whole pottery section 😮😊😂

    We go to this ressourcerie every three weeks or so and rarely come away empty handed - wonderful for picking up that little gadget, spare part, extra glass, vinyl LP records etc etc. I almost pipped you at the post with that magazine rack as I was going to buy it last week! (Got a trotinette instead for next to nothing!)
    Ive followed you for some months now and was surprised to recognise my (adopted) home town when you came whizzing through after your first visit to that ressourcerie! Bravo for all the work in your beautiful home, and Joyeuses Pâques to you and your family!

      What a coincidence! Tjerk was looking for a magazine rack and there were about 6 in the furniture section and he had already picked one when he found this one in the hardware section which was strange, but it was perfect.

    Hi Marloes! So fun going through the thrift stores with you. Unfortunately what we find thrifting here in Canada is not nearly as nice as the old pieces you come across. What will you use the cheese mold for? We are headed to Nederland in 6 weeks, so will maybe have a look at some thrift stores there. I'll be trying some recipes from your cookbook soon. Im excited.
    Have a wonderful Easter with your family!

      I use them to store garlic and onions. Enjoy your time in The Netherlands!

      When you visit The Netherlands, don't go to the big chain thriftstores like Het Goed, Rataplan or Noppes. They're too expensive and sell low quality.
      Instead find some local stores... I can revommend Dorcas stores though. Or Woord en Daad. They're christian based stores who sell goods for charity

    Hello,
    What is the wire item that you bought for 8€? What is it used for?

  • @brendarushka9966
    @brendarushka9966 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    In the United States we call the non-profits, thrift stores. In the UK they call them charity shops. What is the general term for the non-profits in France? Emmaus is the name of the organization correct? Like Goodwill in the United States. Is “resourccerie” the general term for these places? So if was to Google the nearest … to me in France I would enter that word?

    • @FrenchCountryLife
      @FrenchCountryLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! No the term Ressourcerie isn’t the generic term for all of them. And actually there is also an association for the ressourceries. The best way to find all the places is to search for Emmaüs and see what comes up. Then do a next search for ressourcerie and check that out and then do a last search on brocante. That should give you most places that are out there, knowing that some shop owners or associations may not be on the internet at all so there may be more. Hope this helps!

    Why do you always buy those clay pots with holes in them?

    • @FrenchCountryLife
      @FrenchCountryLife  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because I’ve been looking for them for five years and only found them in this place. I am storing garlic and onions in them in my kitchen and I love the look of them.
