I beat the story on “I Am the Night” without TOO much difficulty. Then, while just strolling around the world map casually looking for some collectibles, I stumbled into a thug with a machine gun and died the most random, meaningless death imaginable. I honestly didn’t expect it to reset my save since all the story stuff was done and I was just casually gliding around the open map. When I realized that’s exactly what happened, I turned the game off and haven’t played it since.
I'm gonna be completely honest, I loved "I am the Night" mode in Arkham Origins. But I legit wished that both the Return to Arkham games and Arkham Knight involved this game mode. With New Game+ being honestly my preferred way to play the games. This provided a really nice way of giving me a new challenge. With Firefly being the most difficult.
Couldn't you just do it on your own? You might not get anything like you do for origins, but can't you go through new game plus, and if you die, just restart on your own?
@@austinmann1435technically yeah. But you would have to have multiple save files backed up. And on the 360, you can’t really do that. Trust me I tried to do that a few times. Had to restart all my saves😢
@@austinmann1435 I could, by it would be a real pain in the rear to do so, since you can't erase your newgameplus data without straight up erasing your save file, so anytime I die I would have to play through the ENTIRETY of the regular game again just to unlock newgameplus and try again.
Years ago I beat this as a really, really persistent and frustrated teenager. I love this mode to death and have been contemplating giving it another try. Earning that Batman Arkham Origins XBOX Avatar skin drove me to crazy limits trying to beat this. Stuff like Deathstroke, and the Bane fights in particular I remember being horrific in this mode. It's cool to see you got it completed! Revel in your victory!

It's a real shame that this mode wasn't carried over into Arkham Knight. I always adored these ultra nightmare type difficulties that are designed to absolutely push your patience to it's breaking point.
Fun Fact: if you stay perfectly still after the cutscene when Gordon comes in to help fight the thugs in black gate, the thugs just won’t lock onto you and you can essentially just wait for Gordon to take them out. I did that on my I Am The Night run and used it as a opportunity to catch my breath after both Bane fights lol

You had your own Knightfall arc man lol first fear and uncertainty allowed Bane to beat you, then your victory made you weak and overconfidence let him break you, then you came brought stronger than ever and showed Bane who rules the night.

This vid is what made me try this challenge again. And after 6 runs and so many heart attacks, I did it. With 100% all side missions. Thank you Clown Puncher, your the best.
This took me 8 tries to get through. Bane killed me so many times. Congratulations on getting through it. It's definitely a true test of determination.
Always lead with a smoke bomb while approaching a fight from above. Sometimes you can even find some time to squeeze one in while they're running to you
i wish all the other arkham games had this gamemode, it would be super fun to be able to do this on one of the other more optimized and less glitchy games
As someone who beat this mode a year or so ago, i can say bane was also my run enders. Nonetheless great vid/stream and i salute you for becoming the night
I died in I Am The Knight mode once. I was fighting bane at the hotel, nearly beat him, when my older brother slammed his hands on the window outside. I pissed myself, and got ran over by the Bane Train.
Brooooo! Looking back on this challenge makes me feel nostalgic! To remember the time when I hadn't beaten it yet... those were such difficult times, but some of the most hopeful and remarkable! Love to see someone else become the Knight as well, and nobody deserves it as much as the true Arkham fans like yourself!
I actually discovered the reverse Hotel camera scene about few weeks or a month before you started this challenge, I find it funny how back tracking can actually do that
Let's be honest, Deathstroke is incredibly easy once you figure out how to time the counters rather than just mash the button (except during the staff/sword beatdowns of course). Also, on the Copperhead fight, explosive gel works just as well (maybe even better) than the concussion detonator. I actually beat I Am the Knight mode on one try, mainly due to a glitch. I specifically remember dying near the end only for the game to some how respawn me as if it were a normal playthrough.
Due to you personal I picked up the arkham series to some of challenges thank you for the inspiration to play though the games ago clownpuncher I'm proud of you for completing this challenge you are seriously the goat of the arkham games

The guy saying because I was dying at Bane, that is the most soul crushing sentence I have ever heard. Because I’ve played Arkham origins, and I have died on Bane.
I remember when I was in high school and I attempted this challenge. As soon as you said, being in the Gotham royale, I almost just turned off the video because I had some bad memories….
The Bane train is easier to deal with the more mooks are on the field. Just keep flipping over their heads, and you're safe, even if Bane runs into the guy you flipped off of.
i remember when i 100% completed this game and thought i was ready for this mode, i got to the bane fight at the hotel and died same as you, i decided to never touch it again it made me so upset, but after seeing this i think i might go for it again 😂

Great tip for the brute section in the final offer: since you'll know hes gonna bust through the door. Set up glue gel traps to knock the enemies down and beatdown the brute first, gives you a headstart
I finally beat “I am the night” mode and at one point I died but closed the game quick enough that it didn’t save that I died, I was so happy because I was almost at the firefly boss. I have never stressed more than when I reopened Arkham Origins after closing it
For the Bane Train the trick is to leave some thugs to use as stepping-stones for dodging. The i-frames and hit detection are much more generous when leaping over thugs than doing regular rolls.
Having spent many years playing the Arkham games myself, I've become very skilled at these games. I used to be scared to try the "I am the night" mode.
