This walk covers most of the area around the National Mall, and includes famous sights such as the Jefferson & Lincoln Memorials, Washington Monument, White House, US Capitol, and US Supreme Court.

Next time you visit, check out the District Wharf in Southwest (lots of restaurants and shops) and walk down to The Yards (baseball stadium, soccer stadium, more restaurants,shops and activities to do). Love your videos of Miami (husband’s hometown)!

Welcome to DC, our Nation's Capital. I've been to this city numerous times; my dad used to take me and my family to memorials, museums, particularly the Smithsonian ones because they're free, shopping malls, and other places of interest.

Took this walk 3 years ago. People underestimate just how huge our nation's capitol is, as did I. I've never been so tired nor thirsty while walking around a city. It was late June of 2019, so the summer heat was getting to me, and I conveniently found that walk-in store next to the Lincoln memorial and across from the Vietnam memorial and bought a huge gatorade.
Best drink I ever had.
I KNOW WE ARE IN WASHINGTON DC I KNOW THAT. THE LIGHTS ON THAT BRIDGE REMINDS ME OF SOME OF THE LIGHTS IN DOWNTOWN GRAND RAPIDS MICHIGAN

Hi Ken, there’s so much to see in DC. If you go to the left of the tidal basin they have the newly renovated Wharf and fish market at the southwest waterfront. There’s so many restaurants and bars and you can take a ride on the taxi ferry. Hopefully next time you’re in DC you can visit there.
No cherry blossoms or any other flower has bloomed here in Chicago. Too cold and we’re still getting snow! 😟

Wow awesome walking tour!! I've been to DC many times but I've never seen the cherry blossoms in bloom, so beautiful! You should check out the Smithsonian national zoo when you get the chance. The Giant Panda Royal family lives there, Tian Tian, Mei and Qi Ji, they are worth the visit! Thank you for filming, really loved your tour! 🐼❤️🐼
Just a note - the pandas are now scheduled to be returned to China in 2023, so this is the time to see them. The two adults were sent here "on loan" from China for 10 years. Adult panda Mai Ling proved to be the mother of the year by producing several babies. The agreement kept being extended until the latest baby reached 2 and then they were supposed to go back. They've now been here for over 20 years! The current baby, Qi Ji, was the 'miracle child' - being born well past a panda's normal years for healthy child birth. The thought of losing all three of them is heartbreaking - but it is really good for all of them. Both Mai and Tian are senior citizens now and are suffering from some arthritis and other senior ailments. The Chinese have a whole facility dedicated to caring for the senior pandas that we can't provide. Of course Qi Ji will join his brothers and sister in the panda breeding program there - so it will be good for him too. We can only hope that politics doesn't interfere and we might get a pair of new pandas for the future!

Nice to see you in Washington DC…I live in Rockville, Md which is about 35 mins from DC.
I live right outside DC (right over the Memorial bridge) and I forget that all this stuff is here sometimes. My office overlooks the Washington memorial and I still forget it's here sometimes. Some days I'll be driving and go oh there's the supreme court. I just forget this stuff is here. I really should take advantage of it more.
I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS IN THE SIXTH GRADE WE TOOK A FIELD TRIP TO WASHINGTON DC AND WE WENT TO THE WASHINGTON MONUMENT. SOME OF MY CLASSMATES AT THIS TIME THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO PUT ITCHING POWDER ON EVERYBODY WE WAS AT THE WASHINGTON MONUMENT SCRATCHING ITCHING LOOKING ALL AROUND WONDERING WHAT'S GOING ON HAHAHA 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 THOSE WERE SOME FUN TIMES

Correction 🙄April 5 New York walk at Queens Plaza and 27th st. construction with almost ready walking bridge alteration. is not Metlife Plaza phase 2 but is a 17 storey residential/commercial building. 😌 Perhaps AK will be back for construction or finishing and not have to navigate those old odd to the left and around stairs again. 😊🚶♂️
