I’m kinda really surprised that Disney hasn’t had any game studios like Aspyr do remasters or ports of various Marvel games that game out during the Xbox 360/PS3 era of gaming
@ElTequilla There’s a bunch of Cars games, a couple Toy Story games, a couple Chicken Little games, a couple Pirates of the Caribbean games, Finding Nemo, Bolt, G-Force, WALL-E, Split/Second, Treasure Planet, Tron 2.0, Epic Mickey 2, Disney Universe, multiple offline versions of Disney Infinity, and a game based on Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.
Deadpool has fun gunkata action, but apart from all the constant 4th wall breaks it's short and it doesn't really stands out too much but still a good time. The Wolverine game however it's one hell of a ride which had Logan taking out a master mold among many other great boss fights. The pounce mechanic really made a difference and the plot feels odd because this was meant to be an original Wolverine game instead of a movie tie-in. At least it ended on a sequel hook with Wolverine about to face off an army of sentinels.
Actually I justttt finished replaying Wolverine this week. Believe it or not. There are only 4 unique bosses through the game. I feel like I remember it having more diversity playing it when I was a kid. But now as an adult and going back, I realize it was short, underdeveloped, and lacking in enemy variety. Not to take away from how amazing it was. But yea I just realized it now for the first time
I assumed Wolverine was inaccurate to the film because so many movie games were at that point, it’s surprisingly close to the film at a few points for a game that initially began as one not based on the film. Punisher (2005) was similar, it started development before the film but loosely tied into it by using the same actor and maybe a few plot points(? Never seen the film) late in development.
Not that this is extremely exclusive for the time, but both are also running on Unreal Engine 3. Deadpool defenitely goes for a lot flatter look than wolverine with the lighting though.
Both of these gives live on as “Those games I played as a kid, loved, but can barely remember a thing about them minus 1 or 2 things” lmao Great video!
How fitting that you release a video comparing a Deadpool video game to a Wolverine video game the weekend before Deadpool and Wolverine comes out in theaters. Also, I can't wait to see your X-Men Origins: Wolverine comparison video. And if you want to do another superhero movie tie-in game comparison video, might I suggest the Fantastic Four 2005 movie tie-in games? I've been playing the PS2 version, and so far, it's pretty enjoyable.
I've been wanting a new Deadpool game with Nolan North for a while, I'm glad he's still voicing him, too (via the DLC from Marvel's Midnight Suns). I do think Ryan Reynolds should have some cameo in said new Deadpool game, though, could probably be funny.
I have the PS4 edition of Deadpool and I met the guy that was mo-capped for the PIzza Guy. Would be nice if Wolverine Uncaged was released on PS4 as well. Both were fun, Wolverine had some in-game codes as well.
Funnily enough the game was being developed before the movies script for Origins Wolverine was even completely finished which is why there's some discrepancies in the the plot. On top of that the game influenced the movies script in several cases like adding Gambit as a character was in the game before the movie script.
Damn shame you can't get these games through "official" means nowadays; both are great for fairly different reasons: Wolverine was a brutal -albeit-, authentic rendition of the comic book character but constrained to the mediocre context of the film; Deadpool, by comparison, had a wonderful script and character realization, but a very strange game design, with not such a satisfying gameplay loop as the one from Wolverine, for example.
Such a shame these games are only available through resellers anymore… it doesn’t seem right that they would be available for like $10 a few years ago. I’m hoping that with the popularity of the new Deadpool movie that we can get these gems remastered. It’s not fair that The Last of Us has had like 8 remasters while the Batman Arkham games were also remastered for newer consoles and these two games were forgotten…
Wolverine Origins is one of my favorite games of all time. Never tried the Deadpool game because I assumed the controls would be bad it would mainly focus on silly stuff. I was always curious but now that I know its basically the same game with more unique bosses I really wanna play it.
i played the wolverine game like crazy back in the day, i spent like 100 hours just playing and replaying it, unlocking everything and completing every challenge, such a good game for a crappy movie
Even though one of them is a movie tie-in, inwould like a sequel to both games which is a crossover between these games, both characters have the same gameplay and mechanics from their games, but you can switch between both
Beat both of these games back-to-back starting with Wolverine, and whilst Deadpool is definitely more fun combat wise, I prefer Wolverine's take on the regeneration with the exposure of "vital organs" hidden behind the regeneration bar.
X-men origins wolverine was so good. I wish we got more similar hugh jackman wolverine games. Having a remaster for next gen consoles that matches the pre-rendered cutscenes of x-men origins wolverine would be nice too. The few pre rendered CGI cutscenes in that game looked awesome.
played both but enjoyed Wolverine in terms of gameplay and Deadpool for his iconic jokes and 4th wall breaks and it's not that the combat is not fun but it feels very repetitive and sometimes boring too and story is bad for both games but Deadpool is Deadpool.
Not trying to nitpick, but the Deadpool game released in 2013 (for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC) then in late 2015 (for PS4 and Xbox One). For what it's worth, it's a good game, but Deadpool and his shenanigans really carry it (otherwise it's just a generic, but not bad, Hack & Slash). turns out the games budget was actually around 8-9 million not 100, former developers came out and confirmed this after realizing people didnt know it was a joke lol
7:26 Wow they really put three sentinel heads around the text that says "Genosha" After watching X-Men 97, I have to say, that's a _big_ yikes. Although it's curious, apparently in the comics it was Cassandra Nova's doing, rather than Bastion's and Cassandra Nova is the lead villain in Deadpool and Wolvierine.
I had a lot of fun with both of these but I prefer Deadpool. Wolverine was one of the few good movie tie in games but Deadpool felt like I was actually playing in the comics.
I waited until I saw Deadpool and Wolverine in the theater before watching this video because I've been trying to avoid spoilers, even stuff in TV ads. I only played the Wii version of X-Men Origins Wolverine. It was pretty fun, but unlike Spider-Man The Movie The Game, you couldn't replay levels until you beat the game.
I would also like to point out that Origins: Wolverine’s Wade Wilson and Deadpool’s Wolverine are both voiced by Steve Blum. Talk about a cameo coincidence.
I remember experiencing the Deadpool game when it first was released. Despite being challenged by heavy sunmer hitters like Bioshock Infinite and The Last of Us, I thought it was pretty enjoyable, at least on the writing side. Gameplay was pretty repetitive, though. And I wasn't satisfied by the ending.
I can't say much about X-Men Origins. I watched the movie and thought it was underappreciated. But I didn't bother with the tie-in because I heard the only impressive feat was the healing factor and claw physics. Movie games have to have a more stellar reputation for me to look at.
I played both games and X-Men Origins Wolverine is better than Deadpool game. Simply because it has better action and cool boss fights along with better second half of the game. I could write more here on why, but typing via phone sucks so I have to cut it short.

Funny that how both games are similar in gameplay, but the difference between these two is that Deadpool is a comic based game. While X-MEN Origins: Wolverine is a loose movie based game. I always going to like X-MEN Origins a lot than Deadpool when it comes to blood and violence.

Neither were perfect the PS3 version of X-Men origins wolverine was noticeably choppy but the Deadpool game idk how choppy it was on the PS3 but on the PS4/5 it runs really well
I would say that the differences between the two games are HOW they play. X Men Origins Wolverine plays like old school God of War while Deadpool is much more akin to that of Devil May Cry. Aside from that, both are excellent games and worth checking out!
I remember i wanted to platinum the wolverine game but the game doesnt keep track of dog tracks per level. So midway through i ended up missing up along the way but i didnt know which level.

god i miss when you had companies that did tie in games and other random stuff now its just the same IPs over and over with nothing new like activision has cod and fifa like it sucks so much i missed when they experimented and got to do license games or original stuff like prototype
I’m not really feeling they’re that comparable TBH. One is basically a mod for War for Cybertron with Deadpool jokes. The other is an actual brawler competently executed by a team intimately familiar with how to do X-Men games.
I've never played either, but now that I know they exist and are good I definitely will have to find copies of both. Of course, it'll have to be emulation since I don't have either a 360 or a PS3. Might be time to build an actual gaming computer with a proper discrete graphics card, because this computer just doesn't have the necessary horsepower. For that matter, can you rip either system's discs or will I need to find a second hand console to do that too?
If there's one sad thing they have in common, it's that they're all victims of licensing hell, which means they can't be easily accessed especially on places like Steam/GOG. Someday, though, that shall change. Permanently.
The Alkali Lake facility is in Alberta, not Alaska (which is especially strange, because the actually Alkali Lake is in British Columbia, but hey, Fox doesn't know Canadian geography). Wrong country 😛
100m for Deadpool feels like it is a joke. At the time for a budget that big… i mean i enjoyed the game but it sure didnt feel like it had 100m worth of polish.
It technically already was. The original game released in June 2013 on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. It was 'remastered' and re-released in November 2015 (because of the February 2016 Deadpool movie) on PS4 and Xbox One. While I like the Deadpool game for what it's worth (it's not overly great, just good), I think it'd be best to just make a new game altogether, or they could shoot for a sequel and have Deadpool in-game joke about how it took over a decade to get it.
@@nsaspynetwork3196 It's not on PSN, Activision (the publisher) didn't renew their license with Marvel so it was pulled from PSN (as well as the Xbox Marketplace and Steam). god i miss when you had companies that did tie in games and other random stuff now its just the same IPs over and over with nothing new like activision has cod and fifa like it sucks so much i missed when they experimented and got to do license games or original stuff like prototype
the problem I have with the deadpool game is his katana's doesn't feel like a sword mybe its because of the soundeffects
I’m not really feeling they’re that comparable TBH. One is basically a mod for War for Cybertron with Deadpool jokes. The other is an actual brawler competently executed by a team intimately familiar with how to do X-Men games.
Wolverine game is sorta God of War mod.
70% of the budget must have went to hireing Nolan North.
Deadpool has a better story, but the second-to-second gameplay of wolverine is more fun
Unfortunately I can't seem to find the wolverine game available anywhere
I really want Deadpool to get remastered. Idk how we haven't gotten another game since the movies are so popular
@@TheAnonymousIndividual I mean I'd love to own it on ps5. It's probably on psn, but I swear by physical copies of games when I can
@@nsaspynetwork3196 It's not on PSN, Activision (the publisher) didn't renew their license with Marvel so it was pulled from PSN (as well as the Xbox Marketplace and Steam). I own a physical copy of it on PS4, but physical copies of it on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One can go for A LOT (not too ridiculous, but ridiculous for a game that's only 10 years old), so good luck.
Damn, despite Wolverine being the older game, I actually think it looks a lot better than Deadpool
Deadpool is what we used to call a rental and wolvie is prob a keeper.
I would like to think the game is in its own universe
I think X Men Wolverine Game is based on early drafts of the film script
That Wolverine game was premium teats.
Both are great
Deadpool 2013
Do you think an open world Deadpool game would work?
