He always wanted to get a tattoo that said "death before dishonor" but couldn't because he was going through cancer treatments and was on blood thiners. After he passed away, I got one "for" him. It was a seabee (he was a seabee) with death before dishonor under it. I figured the spelling was simple enough so I wasn't too worried about checking it. The artist put the paper down on my arm and asked what I thought of the placement. I told her it was perfect, but thank God I noticed the spelling mistake (she spelled it dishoner)

To be honest though I feel like that’s what tattoos have just become! There is no thought or originality in them. So many people have the same exact tattoos it’s ridiculous. They just find it one on Pinterest and copy and paste it onto their bodies. How embarrassing to have no creativity and then literally showcase it for the world to see (hello white women aged 24-32 all with the same flowers down their arm). I have zero tattoos and in my opinion that’s more individualistic than actually having them considering how over saturated now. I respect those who come up with their own tattoo concept’s organically but it sucks that they are grouped in with a bunch of unimaginative people who all also have tattoos.

As someone with a few 6 hour session tattoos - I can’t imagine going to a wedding & getting a cliche outline tattoo. There’s no individuality in that.
