  • Thank you for all the positive feedback on my previous Dirt Master videos. 😊 I've been asked for a track comparison between these two buggies, so here it is. Apologies to those who are getting tired with all the Dirt Master content recently! The buggy is generating a lot of interest and I try to provide as much info and answer as many questions as I can.
    This will be my final Dirt Master/Genova video...well, at least until the end of April when Carnosa RC Park will host a DM & Genova event! Naturally I will be going along, so expect a video on that at some point too. 😁
    I must stress I am no professional RC driver, so my thoughts and overall assessment are from the average driver's point of view.
    Hopefully you'll find something of use in here, and if you did I would be very grateful if you hit that like button. 👍 And if you like what you see, consider subscribing. It's free and it helps me to grow this channel. That in turn can often open doors and lead to new opportunities to provide you with more content. 😊

    Both look like a lot of fun and thanks for doing such a good job trying to run them head to head as fairly as possible. I saw the images of the Yokomo Rookie buggy and it is a good looking one as well, a bit more modern look to the body shell but I sure for the racers and those looking to get into racing it is a terrific starting point. I am still waiting for the Dirt master to show up over here! Thanks for including the crashes at the end, makes me feel better about smashing into everything on my track!!!

      Glad it was useful! If you don’t mind the styling the new Yokomo would be the better choice for regular track use. But the DM and Genova look a whole lot better!
      I have my fair share of crashes, though truth be told I tend to crash more when the camera is recording! 😅

    Hey David, both buggies looks brilliant fun but for me I could see the difference with the DM round the track. Just seems you had more confidence with it in the turns. Thanks so much for sharing buddy.

      Yeah, both out of the box and with the same tires I felt the DM was the easier buggy for me to drive.
      Just guessing here, but It might be due to it being closer in wheelbase to the DT-02. I'm really used to how that handles turns and rotates. The Genova on the other hand has a much longer wheelbase (~2.5cm) longer than the DT-02 and it's instantly noticeable.
      That's my theory anyway! 😁

    Awesome and informative comparison and back to back running of these 2 buggies! Can’t wait to complete my DM and take it for a spin! Couldn’t resist it in the end..😁👍

      Resistance is futile! 😁 Good luck with the build (it's a little more complicated than it needs to be!)

      @@KaiCityRC I’m finding that out now.. Certainly doesn’t help that we have to keep flipping back to the parts number reference page.😅 I’ll persevere cos I know it’ll be worth it.

      Be careful you get the right thickness plastic shims as it's too easy to cut the wrong ones off the trees...😅

    Thank you. This is full of really useful information. I’m in the UK, so can only buy the DirtMaster off the shelf, but it’s good to know I don’t have to envy the Genova too much. They both look good, but the Genova looks a little better to me.

      Thanks! 😊 I have to admit, my favorite of the two keeps changing on a daily basis.😅 Sometimes I prefer the looks of the Dirt Master. The next day I've changed my mind and it's the Genova! 😁

    Great to see them out, the DM has been pushed back in the UK 😭 but i’ll still be getting them both out on track for a grass track battle 😁

      Out in the dirt, or grass, is where these two are most suited! 👍

    Dirt Master reminds me of the Triumph! Regarding the excess roll, what if you limited/shortened damper travel? A quick way to try it is with o-rings or tubing on the shock shaft to function as an external limiter.

    • @KaiCityRC
      @KaiCityRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for commenting. 😊 For the purposes of this comparison, I wanted to keep the two as stock as possible, even though their setups are more tuned to dirt than carpet. Since filming I've already begin modding the Genova for use at my local track 👍. As you say, the easiest/cheapest way to lower the buggy would be to limit shock piston down travel by inserting o-rings or spacers inside the shocks.
      One of the fun things about heading off to the circuit is the chance to experiment with mods/setup changes and see how they alter the handling characteristics. I'm looking forward to more experimentation with the Genova and DM.

      @trampk8572 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow! 😀
      I'm really looking forward to it.🤣
      The DB01 has the same basic design as the TRF501X, so it runs very well.
      However, the plastic belt pulley and rubber belt are weak and cannot withstand the power of the 6.5T motor.
      I changed to aluminum pulleys and urethane belts to improve durability.⚙

    • @KaiCityRC
      @KaiCityRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought the DB-01 ran really well! 😎 I only shot a few minutes of footage, but it's enough for a quick track run video. 😊
