    Great to see that collector box removed from the bike. The bike looks so much better and now spiders have a new home to practise making baby spiders :)

      Thanks for watching. Even though the instructions say to take the center stand off, I didn’t think it was necessary. Unfortunately, the one bolt that holds the resonator on is behind the right side foot control. And in order to get the foot control off, you have to remove the center stand from that foot control.

    Hi. Just purchased a Pan America and found your channel. The Vance and Hines looks good and I like the sound. Do you get any backfire? Any negatives as far as how the bikes runs since the change. thanks

    • @retiredbiker
      @retiredbiker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for wathing. This is just a slip on exhaust and retains the factory catalytic converter so there is no backfire. It still retains enough back pressure and the computer can compensate for the better airflow. When coupled with the Screaming Eagle intake it really opens it up. No negative effects unless you consider the added noise, but thats the reason why we change the exhaust in the first place, right?

  • @kaod31
    @kaod31 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Wow, I didn’t like the look, which is why I went the Screaming Eagle exhaust, but this sound is much better than mine. I did end up pulling my spark resistor out which made mine sound much better, especially on a downshift. It doesn’t look bad in this video on your bike. It didn’t look so good in the parts catalog. Nice!

    Have u tried soft bags with this exhaust? I’m wondering if with soft bags, the sag of the soft bag will rest on the exhaust and perhaps could potentially burn the bag. Just wondering because I see the pipe goes straight back, pretty far back.

    • @retiredbiker
      @retiredbiker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m running Mosko Moto Backcountry panniers now with it and they don’t come close to the exhaust. But they have a backing plate. I know the HD soft bags require an extra piece to keep them off the exhaust.

    • @retiredbiker

    Have you noticed any "lean-surging" after installing the V&H on your bike? (Surging at cruising speeds with no load) I'm experiencing surging with mine after the install; the dealer said it sounded like the problem was related to the pipe install and would need a tune, which they don't do.
