  • hi, today i present you the first egg of the "Embryo" collection. It's made with black Limba wood and epoxy. I know i promise you an egg video each day this week but i ran out of epoxy and the only epoxy i have right now needs 3 day to cure :S . so i am going to make some call today see if i can have the same epoxy that i used to work with , but maybe the video of wednesday is going to be report on thursday. Anyway i will try my best to respect the challenge and i hope you will like the video. Don't forget to subscribe if you like my channel.
    Happy turning and enjoy

    As Jimmy said, put in a light source. But I'd take it one step further - just grab a drill and go randomly bananas on the block from every angle, then "roughen up" the holes with a Dremel to change the round holes to something else, then fill with resin, turn to shape, polish, and install a light source, I'll bet it would look even more absolutely stunning!:-)

    • @wirdax
      @wirdax 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldnt recomend that to be honest you can rouf your would up with some sandpaper if u want more grip. But mainly use less glue than that. If its a solid layer between your wood surely it wil come loose. Cause its like a plastic sheet between the wood.

    • @kimhuff
      @kimhuff 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't understand. How does the salt help?

    • @wirdax
      @wirdax 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kimhuff its makes it grity. Like adding sand grains. But salt resolves in the glue. And where does this not add up.

    • @rayfortenberry6868
      @rayfortenberry6868 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kimhuff same as sand on ice, helps prevent slips.

    • @rayfortenberry6868
      @rayfortenberry6868 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kimhuff Just as large grains of sand glued to a mat helps prevent slips, the salt helps grip the wood to prevent it slipping.
      I suppose even small amounts of regular sand might do the same thing.

  • @chuckroger649
    @chuckroger649 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    That’s a beautiful piece. Some feedback for you. I found the music during the glue-up and at the end to be loud, obnoxious, and irritating. I realize that this is a personal reaction, but others may experience the same thing and just not tell you. You may want to consider another choice which is quieter and less intrusive.
