    You are my star for the time when I have a rest or I am tired or sad. Even though I am from the other side of the ocean, from the Czech Republic I love sewing and especially patchwork for a long time. I found your tutorials about four years ago and since that I have loved them. For me it is a very pleasant way how to improve my listening skills in English and how to improve my sewing skills as well. Sitting with a cup of coffee, listening to one of your brilliant tutorials or looking at your fantastic fabrics in your shop, it is really the best way of spending my free time. I admire you and I thank you.

    I'm making this quilt for my son and his wife for their 10th anniversary in November. I'm using the That's A Moire 10" squares by Whistler Studios, and white and silver skinny strips. I have the blocks done and am now to the point of laying out the quilt top. Having a great time.

    I started this pattern. Once you get the hang of it, it gets easier. Cut everything you need first, stack & put aside; start adding 1.5" bits to all your greys, re-stack. Then sew all pieces with long grey/white strip, put aside, etc. I find this way, is not as boring. M.

Jenny & family do such a great job....the videos are easy to follow, I wish I had known about MSQC a few years back....I probably would have made more quilts by now. I have made table runners, bags,a baby quilt ( 9 patch ) and now plan on making quilts for myself and my family.

    If you sew a 9inch strip to a 1 1/2inch strip then you can subcut it into your 1 1/2 inch segment . Do the same with the 5 inch grey and 1 1/2 inch white. It makes things so much faster.

    Stitching the blocks together to create the rows is pretty easy. It's stitching the rows together that gets a little tricky. You need to press that final bottom border of each block up or down so you can can "nest" seams of one row to another row. Hope,this isn't too confusing.

    I am new to quilting and found this tutorial a bit hard to follow though I just love your enthusiasm and how you make it look easy. I am looking forward to starting this project but have a question? How many gray and white strips do you make? For us newbies who follow you, maybe you can say how many blocks and the size of each finished block should be?

  • @sandrahubley7594
    @sandrahubley7594 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This looks so easy the way Jenny shows it. Was always a little intimidated by the "shadow". Think that I would add the 1½ inch white as a strip to a 9 inch grey and then subcut into the 1½" wide sections instead of adding the small 1½" white squares individually. The same to the 5 inch strip for the bottom.

    Fabulous! I wonder, since you are making so many sets of sashing for the left side, would it save cutting and sewing time to cut the gray 9" WOF, then sew a white strip 1.5" WOF to it, and then cut the gray/white set into 1.5" strips...instead of cutting all those white squares ( 84 of them) and sewing onto gray strips individually? And the same for the shorter gray strips and 84 more white squares.
