GOLDEN SANDBAR [Day 2]

- I spent 2 days on Tranquille River over the Canadian Thanksgiving holidays visiting family up in Kamloops. I found a hot spot in the gut of the river in a sandbar behind a large boulder and spent 2 days digging in that spot a couple hours each day and scored some nice gold.

Thanks for watching. Unfortunately sluices are illegal in BC in panning reserves or rivers streams creeks and water ways. So gotta stick to shovel and hand panning ✨⛏

Half a gram?! That's some good gold. Looks like there's not too many black sands and not a lot of fine gold, mostly bigger flakes. That makes some easy panning. Love it! ⛏️🪙
Yeah it’s honestly one of my favourite spots to pan in BC cause there aren’t a lot of black sands and there’s literally gold under every rock 🪨✨⛏ When covids over you gotta come up I’ll take ya to some great spots! I’ve also got a claim on this River as well just couldn’t get there cause it had snowed where my claim was and I still had Summer tires on my vehicle.

The Tranquille has some sick gold! Anytime you can see visible gold clinging to rocks like that you are generally onto some great stuff. Those were very substantial flakes too. I'd scout around for some highbanking spots if possible. Keep hunting, CGH! Thanks for the post.

Unfortunately where I was panning is a public panning reserve and due to BC law we aren't allowed to highbank there, but I do have my own claim on the same river but couldn't get to it that day as it had dumped snow in the higher elevations and I still had my summer tires on, but really looking forward to spring thaw so I can get up there and prospect areas for the potential of highbanking.

That sure looks like a stay for a bit spot doesn’t it, steady gold in every pan is impressive.
Honestly if I didn’t have a thanksgiving dinner waiting at home for me I would have stayed a lot longer but all in all was a great day ✨⛏

Yeah this is one of British Columbia’s best panning reserves in my opinion. I’m lucky I have family in the area so I visit this place quite often✨⛏😎
