Simple everyday life: Daily vlog - Olive Spam & Egg Fried Rice, Grilled Cabbage, Zucchini pancake

Unboxed a parcel which turned out to be some herbal tea I ordered. Made Olive fried rice for lunch on Saturday, using spam and egg. Cycled to Sunday service on Sunday morning as our church has opened up new service locations. Happy to have a location near to me. Had lunch with my colleague after service. Came home and chilled. Made grilled cabbage for dinner at night. Worked from home on Monday. It was a busy day with many meetings from morning till late afternoon. Made a zucchini pancake for lunch using up the leftover zucchini. It turned out better than expected.
Started packing for my Korea trip. I decided to go on a short 5 days 4 nights trip to Seoul. It was a spontaneous trip with my colleague. I know my job situation is still uncertain. And it really makes me quite depressed whenever I think of it. So I allow myself to go on a short vacation just to get away from it all. The trip really makes me excited again. See you in Korea in the next vlog!

The preserved olive brand you bought is one of the two best that I found in Sheng Siong. I always eat it with plain porridge. Super yummy and also a very traditional Teochew dish if I'm not wrong.

Could someone please explain to me this fixation with Spam (which is a terrible ham, from what I see) in South Asian countries? It's clearly not an original thing. Where does it come from? And just why use this terrible thing, while there are better alternatives? 😂
