What field training is like....(feat. One of my ACTUAL former FTOs)

- A parody of the daily life of a rookie officer in field training! We came up with this idea and put it together in approximately thirty minutes. Hopefully this is somewhat entertaining. Other officers will get a kick out of it if nothing else. Let me know what you think!

The explorers have as much room for the officer as the Vic. The only reason we have the fords is more room for equipment. The Tahoe covers both. Plus they have a v8 and sound good

They are starting to order some Tahoe’s around here. It’s pretty much exclusively chargers though.
Chargers are fast. But that’s the only thing that makes them a viable police car in my opinion lol. They’re small and cramped inside with all the equipment and they break a lot. Tahoe is the way to go. I’m glad you’re seeing more of them

I just watched it on a laptop for the first time. It is difficult to tell what he’s saying. Part of the issue is that dear Sr. Cpl. Guillotte is usually under the influence of about twelve energy drinks. He talks super fast. Try being in training with him…

Sooo, I was online, craigslist to be specific, trying to research dodge chargers and something popped up that I didnt expect, in the dodge category. It happened to be a Crown Vic. To be honest, I didnt think they sold those things anymore. It was decently priced too. Maybe about, 4500. Definitely not bad for an older vehicle, I'd say. 😁😁

I also think that a discord server would be decently successful because you could do like a q&a section or 1 on 1 vc with your subscribers. Up to you thought, I say it because you asked for ideas :) (if you are not familiar with discord I would be more than happy to help you set one up.) Also noticed you were Christian. Glad to see another Jesus follower out there!
You’ll likely need to get on with a medium to large department. K9s cost approximately $15,000 per dog up front for the department, plus the cost of training for the officer. For departments with multiple K9 officers, there are on-call rotation schedules. If you don’t like being woken up at 2am on an off day then K9 is not for you! Lol. There will often be tactical training with various SWAT teams in the area, even if you aren’t a tactical officer. The reason is that K9s generally work closely with SWAT in order to track suspects, do building entries/clearing, etc. I’m not sure what your family situation is, but if you have children or other pets, then being a K9 handler is something to really think about before you do it. It’s a commitment that the entire family needs to be on board with, and your particular dog may not get along with other animals or children (I have yet to meet a dog that doesn’t tolerate kids however). You’ll need a place for your dog to be when he or she isn’t working. A friend of mine dedicated his garage to his dog and essentially gave Kiko his own room! Some dogs will act like a pet at home, but they’re still working dogs. They need to be somewhat kept in that mindset. Generally a K9 will be retired from service at around age 6-9. When that happens, the handler is usually allowed to “purchase” their dog from the city (for a very very reasonable price). Then they can spend their golden years with their best friend. I will see if the K9 handler on my shift will do a video with me. It would be helpful if you could make a list of some specific questions that I could ask her. You can leave them in a comment if you’d like.

That is indeed a tavor. Good eye. That was my patrol rifle while I was at that department. My current department wants us all using the same platform, so I can’t use it here. But I still have it and love it

I wanted to be a police officer since I was 5 years old, I wasn't telling people who I know. But ever since I told these two people that I am planning on becoming a police officer now all I hear them saying. "Why aren't you a police officer yet?" Or "Do you have your drivers license yet so you can be a police now? When are you going to get your license and registration so you can be a cop? It's kinda funny but also annoying at the same time because they never asked me these questions until I told them this.
It’s interesting how people treat you differently when you enter law enforcement in any way. I hope you stick with your dream!
@@justapatrolman4246 I will I wanted to be a police since 1991 when I was 5 years old. I'm 36 now I will become one at 38 or 39🙏🙏🙏 I have been asking God to make my dream come true. I told my friend I wanted to be a police and she looked at me like what did you just say. 😂 The look that popped up on her face was so funny. She didn't think ai was going to say that.

I think this cap decided to give you a little payback for being stupid if I were you I would have looked around for any signs he said the nearest sign so first I would have looked around the area to see if I noticed any signs nearby and the funny part about it is how bad cops like oh yeah you're going to be running again we got to pursuit going on right now so we got to go I think that cats like you know what I'm going to teach him a lesson for making me sit there waiting while there's a pursuit going on I'm going to give him a trash cop car and I really cracked up laughing when he said oh you don't need to worry about the light that's no big deal I don't even know if this thing works but hopefully you don't end up stranded the funny part of all you can tell this guy was trying to be a smart ass and give you a little taste of your medicine.
Mine was a small town pd. The fto didn't give a sht, he was out the door a couple months after. We literally went to his house to watch him eat, pet his dogs and meet his girlfriend (sometimes argue). The second FTO was this 65 year old Ahole former trooper who only taught me how to write everyone a ticket. He forced me to charge someone with possession of cocaine as a learning experience.(the guy was evicted from his house and the landlord found some coke residue).... freaking nightmare

I don’t know what you’re doing now, but if you want to experience actual police work, I encourage you to try again with a different department. There really are a lot of great things to experience.

@sweetdoll6641 if you’re planning on this being your career, then I would advise you not to go to college. It’s not needed and would be a lot of money saved. But if you want to go to college, I’d say look into psychology or social work. Or even counseling (not sure what degree that would be) would be a good option. Learning to talk to people and understanding them will serve you well
