That's the easy part! They do their best and they try to create good apples and make new officers familiar with how things work and operate. The issue is, once they get on the force full time and get used to *being* an officer, they develop their own habits and get influenced by bad apples.
I'm actually excited for FTO I'm ready for it Yes I know it will be challenging but this something that I'm very passionate about it and willing to learn and apply what I have been taught on the job
Interesting you're not Excited to honor your oath of the Constitution, but follow policy. Isn't that treason by definition? Well, I guess scum needs in place in this world as well. Up up to 20 years or life. Just remember that every time you follow policy instead of your oath
When you get a late real officer from a different state or jurisdiction, do you train that officer like a rookie, or do you build on their experience and knowledge as an officer.

Didn't they just indict a sergeant for slamming a 70 year old man causing a brain bleed leading to him being un-alive. The poor guy gets hit by a car and then beat up by a cop . And not one GOOD COP stepped up and helped . They let him lay over night . And crawl to see a judge. Yup great bunch of people 👍 COPS DON'T BECOME PSYCHOPATHS PSYCHOPATHS BECOME COPS.
Training is different than educating. Generally, training means teaching police officers to react to a given situation in the field. Education involves developing the mental and moral tools police officers should possess to build strong relationships with the community. It will teach police officers to think about their response to various problems based on vast amounts of knowledge and then take thoughtful action to resolve a problem. What they need is educating them on our Constitutional rights. Police officers enter their profession by taking an oath to the U.S. Constitution. So why is there no concerted effort to make police constitutionally literate? Just think about how much better the police-community relations would be if police were constitutionally literate. Constitutional literacy entails knowing the Constitution sufficiently well enough to invoke it properly. Those who take an oath to the Constitution have the responsibility to know its contents and interpretations of it, such as court decisions that are professionally relevant. There's a lot of men and women that have a career in policing without ever even reading the Constitution. So how sincere is one's oath to the Constitution if one hasn't read it or doesn't understand it? First of all, police academies should replace the standard five to six months of training with a two-year curriculum. In addition to the necessary physical, firearms, and tactics training, recruits should take classes that you might typically find in an undergraduate program - from criminal and constitutional law to sociology, psychology, and conflict resolution. A clear understanding of the nature of the society they will serve, and all its complexities are fundamental to any member of a service profession. By doing a simple search on TH-cam and watching a few videos of "First Amendment Audits" you can plainly see how ignorant most police officers are when it comes to our rights. So more education is needed, not just training. www.policechiefmagazine.org/education-offers-best-solution-for-police-misconduct/

What would you suggest on how to ID a police officer in uniform ? I ask police officers to show OFFICIAL STATUS OFFICIAL USE and they look at me soooo stupidly .....why ? I am in clothing just like they are in clothing but they don't know how to enforce the law ....very rude

I can’t imagine the pressure of being an FTO. You are literally shaping the future officers that’s a huge responsibility.

Lmao when he gets hit in face with the spotlight 😂
😂
3:05 very good example. Honestly to your FTO. They know IF you messed up. Be honest, listen and learn 👏🏻
Thank you for your efforts to protect the lives and property of citizens and to maintain security.

Hello from Northbrook! Great video guys, keep it up!
When you get a late real officer from a different state or jurisdiction, do you train that officer like a rookie, or do you build on their experience and knowledge as an officer.
Officers with prior experience get put through an abbreviated FTO typically
Training is a sort like they will train them in this part of the facility
We're all out here hanging,... Missing this great content.😔

Did that officer have a SEAL trident? If so thats awesome 👌
It doesn’t look like one, some PDs model their SWAT logo off the trident tho.

I raised my kids in Dixon and I can say without a doubt the cops in Dixon have a major attitude problem.

Your really not training officers ....your out of Academy, you are a law enforcement officer .....gosh I'm sure they said that FCKING many times
Training goes beyond what is taught in the academy, because not everything is covered in the academy.
All these officers seem so nice.
They seem nice, but so does the devi would put money down to bet that they commit treason and terrorism on a normal basis
Back the blue until it happens to you. 😂
