Hey Chris. As far as I know, the PT5000 is always automatic. It is a clone of the Eta 2824, so a Chinese version of a SW 200 basically. Being a clone of the 2824, the movement shares the issue of winding via the crown being a bit coarse/sandpaper-feeling and potentially shredding some of the teeth of one of the internal cogs (this used to be one of the most common ways of damaging a 2824; as far as i know newer versions are a bit more robust in terms of hand-winding but still not bullet proof). Regarding the water resistance rating, yeah, a lot of AliEx brands seem to use it more or less 'liberally', shall we say. I think Tandorio in particular is quite known for this. Heh, 'self indulgent exercise'. That cracked me up.
Brilliant thanks Andrei. I think the PT5000 was listed as a mechanical hand wind when I first saw the specs on the store for the watch (that may have changed since) but I did notice it definitely had a router. Knowing it is a clone of the eta 2824 Means I will be quite careful not to overwind. Regarding the branding, I designed this watch for 100 usd so I should be able to sell it for 349 usd no? My very one microbrand 😆😆😆
@@MirrlyonTime Don't be absurd Chris. You'd need to order a different color dial and a different 10 usd clasp for the strap/bracelet before doing that :))
I own four Tandorio NH35 watches. Paid less than €60 for each. 2 X Serica Homage (red & blue), 50 Fathoms Homage and 37mm SKX homage. All keep great time & look fantastic Lume is not a problem. I live in a town with street lighting and have working light bulbs in my home.
Lol light bulbs?! What curious invention do you speak of? How many layers of lume on them? Thanks for watching m8 and please subscribe if you haven’t done so yet with thanks
@@MirrlyonTime I'm sorry, I forgot you are in the untamed wilds of Canada. 😁 I'm in western Europe where almost every home has electricity and lighting. As to how waterproof Tandorio watches are. Last autumn (fall) my town flooded. There was 0.75M of water in my hallway. Luckily I wasn't wearing any of my watches at the time. Unlike many people I keep my watch collection in my bedroom, which is two floors (or 8M) above my Hallway, so in no danger of getting wet 😂
I personally would pay a little more for better lume and finishing, but they seem to make some terrific watches for people who can’t or won’t pay more. That Monster Homage is an insane value. If I didn’t already have Heimdallr version, I may have gotten this with my own logo on it. Thanks!
Thanks adk and one cool Thing about tandorio official Store is they are one of the only places I know of that will let you customize a dial outside of going the drop ship alibaba app route
Thanks for the video Chris. Custom watches are cool. I've had thoughts of doing one, but could not decide on what exactly I wanted...so thats a hint for me to wait....Cheers!!!
Thanks Bill, tandorio is a very good Ali company to deal with regarding this and they have some good watch options that’s for sure, and they can customize any that they sell which is good
These are very nice! I have 3 watches with the PT 5000: a Tandorio field watch ( - 3 s/d, decent lume, some sharp edges that don't matter); a Steeldive Willard homage (- 6 s/d, excellent lume and nice case finishing); and a Proxima PX 1703 ( - 6 s/d, spectacular lume and outstanding finish on the case and bracelet, though it cost about 30% more than the other two put together!). Also have a 37 mm Tandorio GMT diver - nicely made and the NH34 is more than acceptably accurate, but the lume is pitiful, especially on the hands. Ah, well.... Cracking video as always. Have a great weekend. Cheers 🍻!
Thanks m8! I’m hoping the lume on the new monster they put out will become their new norm for lume, if so they are up there for the best value for $ spent on aliexpress. And yes, proxima watches seem very very nice I may have to try and get one one of these days, the one I would want so far appears to be sold out atm
My first pt5000 was that watch and it’s a fantastic movement, they were expensive a few years back but supply caught up with demand and are reasonably priced now. I’ll take the pt5000 over a nh35 when the option is available.
Your a micro brand ! 👍With that logo they are easily $399 each 🤣Glad to see you dipped your toe in the tandorio pond, they are excellent budget watches but I've never received one with good lume.
@@MirrlyonTime well you know as well as I that there are people that actually do that, then just drop ship them. Tandorio should send me some free watches, I'm getting the word out on their brand and I think I'm up to sxc maybe seven tadorio's.
I have two first generation seiko monsters.. i love them.. i have heard the homages are better specced and better made.. intriguing.. though I do kinda resent so many being around.. it had become a cool retro somewhat rare watch.. and now monsters are everywhere!

I get your point. I can tell you though, the owner Leon is very responsive to the message board system on the app, great guy, and the watches are well made for the money. If you had any issues Leon would take care of you which the same can’t be said for san Martin who sell their watches for hundreds more and should consequently have better support. Thanks for watching m8, and thanks for the feedback
@@MirrlyonTime no, "Leon" is not an argument when we are talking about the purchases at Ali. For ex, the parcel costs $70. How much should I pay to send it back to China for a replacement or for warranty repair? A half? One third? :D And about the model numbers. If there are no model numbers, means there are no technical specifications for the models at all. Means you can get something with "200M water resist" at the dial, but but at the case there will be "50M". And nobody knows a real water resist value. I can believe, let they are made well. But it is a lottery.
@@MirrlyonTime it's something like PARNSRPSPRSRE. You can get there nice Willard homage, but, suddenly, it is a "diver" with 50m water resist, and a condensate appears inside the watch. Also has no model numbers.😂
