  • In this video I found gold nuggets with a metal detector (goldbug II) while demonstrating how to use one! It was good spot for it because I have found lots of gold nuggets here before, and I was using the Fisher Gold Bug II metal detector which I know fairly well! PioneerPauly It's an Oneida fork. They have been around since the 1880s. I couldn't find the exact year but take down all markings on it and go to their website to try and find a match.. if you're so inclined to do so. If I find any more info, I'll pass it along.

though I had some problem with sea water It also th-cam.com/users/postUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn

I have a cheap bounty hunter.. But can I get a hit on something smaller than a gram?? I'm saving for a bug or whites..they are from Sweet Home , Or .... Where I live near. I do get small pieces of iron.. Nail pieces..etc.. I know I could play with my gold to see how it reacts..just wondering if you know anyone ever finding a nuggie or piece using the less powerful coin detectors..

Those Fisher Gold Bug 2's are excellent detectors for fine gold. A quality detector really pays for itself quickly.
I've recently switched from that to a Minelab Gold Monster 1000 and love the 6" coil it comes with for the sensitivity to fine gold.
Just like you suggest....it takes practice to really get to know your machine. Keep up the great vids!

Hi Pauly, my husband and I have been following you for a while now, we started prospecting for gold in 2010 when he retired; but just started watching your videos last year when we got a new tv that gets internet connections! We have learned a lot from watching you and Dan Hurd, thanks for the great videos! In the one above, you found an Oneida fork, I looked it up, and they were founded in 1848 (and made on a commune until 1880). (Wikipedia)

Great hunt. Tough going but that's how gold is with a detector. I looked around for that Rogers pattern, briefly, but wasn't able to find an exact match. Although it does remind me of an Art Nouveau style from the 1920's. I detect a lot of forests here in Ohio and finding silverplate gives me a clue as to what age the area was hunted, farmed etc... A little more detail and it could be found as almost all of that stuff is collectable. Great vid Pauly and keep up the good work! If I lived up there, we'd be camping overnight!

I don't know about that "water detection" machines, but I have been in the mineral and water detection business for about 30 years now and so far I have tested a lot of machines, only to find they did not work and the money spent went down the drain. My water Dowsing is a hundred% accurate and I do it from a photograph off of Google earth images. Of course I find other things also, like precious-metals, graves, crude-oil. I can scan five to ten square miles from a Google Earth image in about a day and mark the water or mineral locations, large and small. I also discriminate the type of element, for example I can tell any one of the six platinum group metals apart from one another. And I can detect all of the stable elements on the chart of elements. I have done over 300 blind tests to this affect. I am not at all limited on depth detection. I did an oil deposit that was 6800 feet deep. Many of my blind teste were private people giving me permission to scan their houses and marking where their values were.

Pauly, That was a good demo on ground balancing. Ground balancing is very simple. I don't know why but it seems that people have a lot of trouble understanding how it works. It quiets things down and you have to re-balance when it starts to get noisy, sometimes fairly often. This was a good video on gold detecting with the GB II, it's my go-to machine also.

*PioneerPauly* Love the channel, I will be adding on FB (I'm Ryan Buke on there) Anyway, my idea is for a device that uses a lithium handheld wet/dry vacuum (sold with cordless tools at home depot and such) and what I would do is create a hose for it with a magnetic mount that holds a small handheld metal detector (sold on Amazon, ect) so you could vacuum out the cracks and sands, ect and possibly hear if you suck up your target or random metals in a pile. You should make one, it would pay for itself in convenience, just empty the debris cup right into your pan. You could even make the hose using clear tubing and a bright LED light if you wanted to get fancy with it. Anyway, look forward to all your videos.

I like Fisher metal detectors. Although I prefer Gold Bug Pro cause its easier on heavy ground, but yeah Gold Bug 2 is the best to find very tiny pieces of gold. Post more videos metal detecting for gold!

You want to do Yamashita Hunting next year in the Philippines bro? . . . message me up. I know some locations that still exists with marks and codes at the trees and rocks at my province. the problem is some of them have booby traps with Poison gas or sometimes there's dynamite underneath 10-20 feet.

Fork - CAPRI 1935 | WM A. ROGERS TRIPLE ONEIDA LTD. | SILVER PLATE ? Nice nuggets Mister, lol. Invest in spare batteries so you can detect all day if you have the energy to : )

Sometimes you can find stuff in the most isolated places. A fork out in the woods buried between some rocks. Weird.

Found a fork with a spoon!!! And the fork looks like it might be silver plated. Look up W.M. Rogers Triple silver plated flatware forks. Late 1800 to early 1900 's for sure!!! I do a lot of metal detecting myself!!

I would love to see you get back in the water again and get some underwater footage, I know it's hard, but these hot summer days could feel good in that cold water. Keep up the great work!

Nice nugget! I have never found any bedrock like that in my area....or gold that size! I have several metal detectors, but none good enough to find small gold like that. A good one would be fun to have, but I can't justify the cost for what I find around here.

If your ever wondering what time frame an item is from remember if it's really from the 49ers it wont have print pressed writing like that, tools and such will be blacksmithed you'll see the hammering on it

Always a hoot. Do you actually read the comments ? Wondering why you don't use a pin-pointer. The fork - ONEIDA (aka ANCHOR-HOCKING) made the C.A. ROGERS collection in the mid 20's. The "ROGERS" were only sold to Free Masons that were also Dwarfs. They were the last known, little known (no pun intended) assassins with Ninja skills. Your fork was likely used as a last stand, and should be in a museum. Probably June, 1923. Do not eat with it, as it is likely lased with iocane powder. A favorite of the ninja class, dwarf Masons. I hope that helps
Also, how much for the smaller nugget ?
Than k you again for adventure, entertainment, and the best ground balancing tutorial I have seen to date.
