What’s up with the iPad fire?
Not trying to sweat our beans off
What’s up with the year book photo ?
@@jordanhudson5075I almost fell off the toilet after reading your comeback. 😂😂😂
Country isn’t what you wear it’s who you are, also 2 dudes and a fire and just y’all being real is what makes this whole video series dope. It’s organic
✊✊
I haven't looked at the timing adjustment on the reckoning but I do know that APA has a micro timing adjustment on the cable guard
Make an attachment for last chance presses to fix the draw board issue? Sell like hot cakes! 🤑🔥
I think one of the videos Josh did on setting up a Hoyt VTM 34 really highlighted how awesome Bowtech's deadlock system is and he wasn't even doing a video on Bowtech. He was putting in the Hoyt shims to bring the cams in line and he pointed out that you could have a scenario where putting in the shims could get you close but you might end up slightly on the other end of perfect. I believe Mathews shims are pretty much the same in that regard so with that type of system you'd be forced to move the rest to fine tune the rest of the way. With Bowtech's deadlock system you basically have microtone precision with the cams.
My stepfather bought a Bowtech way back in 2005 and absolutely loved it. I've been wanting one since i picked hunting back up 2 years ago. Sadly my local bow shop did not have a SS34 available when i went to purchase my new bow. I will get a bowtech in a couple years though. They are just awesome.
This was another awesome podcast guys. The tip about the DIY draw board design is very helpful. I'm gonna be making one here soon and will definitely be putting the stagger in it. I pick up little gems like this from every podcast. Thanks again for all the great info. And the Ipad fire is pretty frickin' cool.
I have a bowhech revolt c , my first flagship bow. It’s a 70# bow. It’s draw weight is 63# can’t I do anything to get the true 70# draw weight. Thank you for these videos, I have learned most of what I do know, limited thought my knowledge is, from watching you guys. I have a moose draw tag for elk country in North western Alberta Canada. My buddy and I would love to have you guys join in early September.
I built my drawboard/shooting machine back in 2013 with the grip holder 2.25" lower than the Berger holes, which is the approximate location of the D-loop. My bow grip holder is also a re-bent 3/8" hook bolt squared up using a propane torch and shaped using an adjustable wrench to bend the heated bends. Then, I wrapped it with marine-grade shrink tubing, so it doesn't mar the bow grip. I pointed out the fault with the LCA drawboard attachment to everyone that's using it, and they were all like, "Holy shit, you're right! I never realized that." I'm like Josh - I like to teach people what I've taken the time to learn and discover, so they can work on their own bows, except string-making No one wants to attempt doing them...yet. Every string I make imparts a natural right spin to arrows, and that goes a long way to make paper tuning more accurate.
I've had the insert go into the arrow, and also had arrow explode, a friend also had that, which is why we both shoot collars now. They were all light arrow setups. Now I only shoot heavy setups with collars.
Good job! I look forward to you Podcast/TH-cam every week
Brought some great memories! My 1st compound bow that got for Christmas was a new early 70’s Browning Nomad
Bowtech's tech is awesome with being able to move the cams the way the do. Elite's set system is ok but you still need to reset your center shot after moving the limbs one way or the other.
Thank you so much for all of this knowledge you provide I knew nothing till I started watching your videos so ty
Always in joy the tech talk it’s interesting and fascinating as always gentlemen appreciate your time and vids❤🤙👊
I worked for a company that was bought buy a capitol investment group. The high level guys showed up on the floor asking employees what they could do to improve things. My question to them was what the pump and dump timeframe was. The holding group made things happen quickly to increase the price before the dump (4years), and when quarter expectations were exceeded, all employees got bonuses. Those bonuses to the employees were essentially a write off, as they could be figured into profitability,
Yes I like both your channels it really helps someone like me I'm pretty new to compound bow hunting and I'm someone who loves to work on things myself and I learn a lot from you guys Thanks for the information and I enjoy you two nuts carrying on also
Awesome ✊
Would love to come out and make a video! Got into archery on the East Coast and its basically nonexistent... Your guy's videos have really gotten me back into it! Serious about coming out and making videos though!
Comment for the Al Gore rhythm. Appreciate these chats Fellas 🍻
Would love to see a series of "what not to do" as well with a bow. Warranties are there for a reason and there are times its best to have a shop work on something to make sure the customer is covered. Would like to see your thoughts on the dos and don'ts of working on a bow.
Good idea. I typically buy everything from the retailer and then build myself. Aftermarket strings etc. Have a Realm SR6 that had a cam issue with cutting into the string. Note that you are supposed to only use their strings due to warranty. I brought it to the retailer, they sent it in with no issues, and was fixed under warranty, even with knowing I swapped the strings…they even sent me an extra set. So I’d be curious to see what the other manufacturers would do or the recommendations for people like me who do the work ourselves.
Loved this one !!! Great podcast guys
Rant agreement... I have been with Bowtech as a dealer for 21 years. I have shot their bows personally because of what you have spelled out for 21 years. If people understood the tech and the company puts the newer tuning systems into their hunting bows, wheeew! Nobody else has their tech...or compares.
better get a table between y'all.. and lets do a fitness challenge for "elk season" next year!! I live in Ohio but big fan ill never get close to an elk. you guys rock. I think the mountains and the bow shop are my next vacations
Love the podcast boys, good work. You talked a little bit about wanting more collaboration, do you guys know Kellen from G4 archery or Inside Out Precision? Would love to see him on the podcast or some sort of collaboration! Podium and Inside Out Precision are probably my 2 most trusted sources for archery information.
Learn't something new.
Now I can adjust my homemade draw board.
I'm 1" offset. I'll try 2".
As of now the bow does sit level while drawn back.
Im a Zimbabwean self-funded Olympian and your videos are a great source of help to getting even more confident in sorting our my compound bow now ive stopped Olympic recurve. Thanks guys
And I enjoy your guy's style and banter . Keep safe
Thanks for tuning in! ✊
If Bowtech had Hoyts / Mathews marketing budgets... 🤔. When are they going to have inline accessory support?
This was an excellent discussion! Bowtech, Black Gold, and Tight Spot being under the same umbrella and having no integration is an absolute travesty. I work with Prime but as lover of the game I wish that company would get it together.
Couldn’t agree more with you guys. I recently purchased a cp 30 solely for the dead lock cam system, but after living with the bow for a few weeks the combination of low reflex riser, generous brace height and grip make it the most stable easy to shoot short bow I’ve ever owned. Yet at my local tournaments there’s at least 15-20 Matthews for every bow tech. I almost feel like I need to spread the word about how good the bow is for them.
Bro I got the OG revolt 2020 model. Still haven't felt a better bow in every way. It is still amazing.
One of the guys at Spokane Valley Archery forgot to put my draw stops back in and it locked at full draw. Funny to watch better then me trying to figure it out. I knew that they would fix it without messing it up. Trust those guys to be the only ones that work on my bow!
I'm glad I chose Bowtech SS34 after covid 19, You must be able to adjust your bow yourself.
Then you learn a lot from your mistakes!
Hmmm my problem with shooting out past 40 50 is what happens when there's wind and a solid broadhead not amount of tuning will help when you got 20+ mph winds
That's a great tip about the draw board! I had always thought that it didnt' seem right that my bow shifted when I drew it back on my DIY draw board. I'll need to modify it.
Do you think Bowtech will be able to make a Deadlock speed bow that draws as nice as the Realm series bows? I can't find any Deadlock bows that draw as nice as the SR6.
Wouldn’t mind hearing a podcast where MFJJ just talks about the manufactures. Not a bash session - more so just highlighting the pros of each brand, Bowtech touched on here - maybe future segments on PSE, Prime, Mathews, Hoyt, ect ect
I think I speak for everyone, when I say we need a complete product line of bow setup equipment from MFJJ. We need a pivoting/rotating press, correctly designed draw board, bow vise, tools, etc. all designed by MFJJ that allow us to set up everything correctly in our own home. I know he is slowly working towards some of this already, but with him teaching us the correct way to tune and set up our bows, we need the properly designed equipment to do it the way he would his own personal bows. I would buy all of this equipment in a heartbeat since I live in Ohio. Otherwise if I had the opportunity, I would be at SVA getting my equipment tuned by MFJJ himself and learning all of his vast bow technician knowledge. Like myself, I think a lot of us are wanting to take the next step and work on our own bows and avoid the disasters we have all experienced at our local proshops. MFJJ's set up equipment would be life changing for myself and many others in the archery community who want things done the right way. It would basically allow us to have our bows set up by MFJJ regardless of where we live, but most importantly by using our own hands to do it.
Sorry, PSE hands down.
Reason: yoke tuning, cam shims and adjustable cable guard.
Everything you need to super tune with keeping your rest centered. Even with broadheads.
Might take longer but its so dam accurate
Have you even looked at the limb deadlock system they are talking about on the bowtech, have a look then come comment.
Do you live under a rock? Bowtech had yokes for YEARS but now they have an even better system.
Love the convos, why do the fireside chats drop sooner on TH-cam than podcast?
MFJJ can you build a crossbow bolt with the titanium inserts? I hunt both crossbow some and use my bowtech some i would love to have a strong bolt for the tenpoint i use also. Really enjoy all the great info you put out for us it has helped me a great deal. Thank you for all the time you spend
MFJJ dropping knowledge bombs like always
Josh u crack me up and scare me when ur splitting that kindling! 😂 luv ur content guys!!
archery design draw board is made to fit in the last chance press and its staggered and way cheaper.
Was that a Browning Timberwolf, I bought one in 1993 and I still have it.
Great content.
Archery Dezign has been making a draw board that has an adjustable grip peg that's staggered for 7 or 8 years, maybe longer. Great design, it's much better than the LCA because of that feature. It also fits in most LCA presses.
Also, I totally agree with JJ on a collar being overkill on the front of an arrow. A high quality halfout is all you need. Not a fan of HITS or collars.
This isn’t Josh but I’ve taken a couple bucks and three elk with the SEVR 1.5. I shoot the GT Hunter Pro with a 100 gr broadhead 28.5 inch draw. Arrows probably weigh about the same as yours. They make a big gash on impact. My shots have been 40 yds and under. You’ll be fine if you take nice ethical shots. Be patient and be a good hunter not a desperate hunter and you’ll get a shot. I think you should practice with your quiver on and full minus one arrow and have your stabilizer on. Shoot with your backpack, bino harness, ball cap, whatever you are wearing in the field. Practice making a cow call then fire. Hope this helps. Good luck on your hunt and hope you get the bull of your dreams.
I watched so many action movies with my dad as a kid.. arnie, stallone, van damme.. the good days
Subscribed and liked. I have watched quite a few of you guy's recent videos and I haven't heard about this question I have asked. Short Draw Theme. I have an elk hunt coming up. I'm shooting a 385gr arrow. 26.5" draw @ 69.5 pounds. going 270 fps. Am I ok shooting a Sevr 1.5" (mechanical)? Also, does adding subtracting weight from stabilizer and shooting with a quiver effect tune. I have been shooting without a quiver this whole time. I have watched your latest broadhead tuning video. I will try that out. I am using the magnus 2 blade hornet if i can get it tuned. Appreciate any feedback. This is a once in a lifetime hunt for me and I have never harvested an animal. yours truly, Tyrannosaurus archer out.
MFJJ on the right track here with mindset of engineering. Personally would love to see what AI could come up with for a riser and limbs with defined outputs.
great podcast.
You forgot to mention that not only does Bowtech market poorly, whoever designs their swag does a horrible job too. That hat that came with my Carbon One is still sitting in the box
Over the past 30 months I have been fortunate to own and shoot the following bows:
V3 31
V3 27
V3X 29
V3X 33
Phase 4 33
Image
Ventum 33
Ventum 33 Pro
VTM 34
RX-7 Ultra
Prime Black 3
Prime Black 5
Prime Inline 3
Prime Inline 1
Prime REVEX 4
Bowtech Solution SS
Bowtech SS34
I know, that is a lot of bows, but legit I have owned all of those and shot them and sold most of them in Ebay or traded them at my local shop.
The Bowtech SS34 is EASILY the best bow of this group and 2nd place is a distant second and that would be the V3X 33. I know, it is totally personal and different for all. I just wanted to share that as someone who has had a chance to really shoot a lot of bows - the SS34 is just incredible.
Pros - smoothest draw with no competition, zero shock or vibe, Deadlock system is light years ahead of all other cam lean systems, solid velocity, very forgiving, highly accurate if you do your part, excellent and highly repeatable grip.
Cons - crappy factory strings (serving separation on cables in less than 50 shots), no decent 2-piece quiver options, no integrated sight option.
Thanks!
Wasn’t outdoor sportsman the store downtown where Dan ran the archery counter?
I’ve been shooting for 6 months with a bear attitude and I’ve hit my target at 100 yards because of the info I’ve learned from MFJJ
Good work dude!
Gunna be honest....didn't even notice the fire was on the ipad😂
On cam timing, does that mean the hooter shooter is also wrong?
How can I share this to my IG story?
The IPad fire works boys.
Agree bowtech os the best tuning bow out there.
I absolutely love my cp28
Is MFJJ still testing hybrid releases or has he decided on one?🙏
I just wish you weren't in Washington...It's a long drive from California.
Yep no shop around my place wants to shim my bow I was told to shoot mechanical broadheads, you can’t get feild points and fixed blades to hit in same spot and was treated like an idiot.
Standard. Unless you do it yourself, most bow shops don't really care.
🏹
100 grain titanium insert would be great. If fork over the money for that.
Why so heavy? What total arrow weight do you go for?
Josh did you finish all the bow builds was thinking you still had one more to finish?
Bowtech is best
I am slowly developing very similar characteristics as MFJJ's father. Likes to play sports, doesn't watch sports. LOL!
Jeff Hildebrand if the one that owns Pure archery Group that owns Bowtech.
I'm first...
Jennings Woodstar!??
i mean you're wearing a Mathews shirt...
I don’t know about constitutionally but you should get the property owner’s permission before you start recording. In a public place you can record anyone
Good to hear that your dad loved the Lord!! Hope you’re following
Amen, so many has gone astray
First Bow: Diamond by Bowtech. (Exploded in my face.)
Second Bow: Realm Sr6 (exploded in my face)
Finally moved to Elite and haven’t been happier.
Old bowtechs did have issues. But that is unlucky. I picked up a 2020 revolt. Has not missed a step. Best purchase I have ever made.
How does a daimond blow up??? Bad strings? Limbs backed out too far?
@joeditz48 they had limb issues back in the day. Well and truly past that hurdle now.
@@joeditz48 The Diamond Edge XT doesn’t like 70lbs @ 30”. The screws on the mods came out (even with Loctite) causing the servings to snap where they make contact with the mod. Bent my cams and totaled the bow. Blowtech said this has happened to a few of those models and requested I return the bow to be fixed and suggest I back down the poundage. Horrible customer service and horrible products. You can say Blowtech has passed the hurtle but I prefer a bow company with a history of quality and accuracy. Blowtech has a history of blowing the fk up Lmao
@johnsmith1812 wow that's crazy! Glad you're okay. Sucks that they didn't take better care of you as a customer after the fact
New bowtechs with time lock? Man i hope so on there hunting bows
They'd be stupid not to, and, judging from their technologies, they aren't stupid.
@@Rikcey yeah thats true
My only complaint for Josh's videos is. Better close up video on things he does with his hands. Sound is manageable little echo like, but tolerable.
Getting top shooters on your staff sells bows. Look what happened when Levi left mathews and went to elite
These thumbnail pics are absurd lol
Titanium is heavier than aluminum… its stronger so you can use less material
Titanium is lighter.. It's weaker than steel. Titanium handled frame lock knives use a stainless steel insert on the lock because it's more durable.
However titanium is stronger when comparing ounce for ounce. That's why it's so great for arrow inserts
I’ll be your producer/editor for free accommodation and meals, just let me know and I’m on the next plane from DownUnder. I’m serious 😊
bro the fly deserved it
If ya gotta call yourself country or red neck i got some bad news for you 😂
