Back then Roxette was often played on the radio. I remember their songs "The Look", "Joyride", "Crash, Boom, Bang" and "Listen to your heart". They had some great catchy tracks.
Wow! It's never occurred to me that this song could be about someone who has died. I'm not sure it is, but it does work! Btw, Per Gessle (the guy with the guitar) wrote the majority of their songs, including this one. I'm glad you mentioned the 'texture' of Marie's voice. She's unmatched for me, and sorely missed 💔
A stark contrast to their previous single The Big L…I love Roxette as Per and Marie, take it in turn to do lead vocals, and can also be a duet. Both very different people, with different styles which makes every song interesting and incredible. Thank you for reaction
Funny how they got a break in USA, an american exchange student brought a Roxette tape back to US and kept bugging his local radiostation DJs and it took off and as they say the rest is history.
Marie Fredriksson was THE VOICE and CHARISMA(or as many fans said she was the heart), and Per Gessle was the songwriter or the brain. I USED to love Per's unique voice(which I still like) but throughout the years, I realized Marie's exquisite and marvelous voice❤ She left too soon(the 9th December, 2019) after fighting 17 years against brain cancer😢
Yep, Marie's vocal are so distinctive. I can pick her voice out of a group, even if singing in Swedish. All the songs they have done are fantastic in their own way. Of course the more famous ones will get the attention from reactors, but dont over look all the others, you'd be surprised what you end up loving ❤
You got it backwards. Marie passed away in 2019 after a struggle with cancer. Per is still around. The problem is, he sucks without her. She was his muse and in many ways his motivation. Now he just makes lame and cheezy "lalalalala" song and is absolutely wasting his talent. (he made those song with his other band even when she was still here... But atleast it wasbt all he made)

Fil, Marie (RIP) had a unique voice that made me smile. Great track to start with.
#QcumberSquad #Roxette - Fil, I'm off back to the study.

The song is a powerful reminder that heartbreak is a universal experience (I read this somewhere) A good way to remember Marie she left too soon . RIP

Can I say ? You have such a captivating way of reacting genuinely. And a super ear to understand artistry! Thank you for sharing with us!!!
