Amber and Jay, remember something, the 80's were not all the same type of sounds in music. There are at least three sub sets, early, mid, and late but even then there are variations. Seemingly most younger people link late 80's pop sound to all the 80's. Congrats on new baby Luka.
Amber, if you’ve seen the movie, “Pretty Woman”, then you’ve heard Roxette. “It Must’ve Been Love” is playing when she leaves in the limo. Her voice is amazing in that song.

You have to listen to "It must have been love" by Roxette. Marie sings that entire song as lead. Beautiful song. Massive no.1 song in the 80's and on the Pretty Woman movie soundtrack! Am loving your channel specially the 80s reactions 💖
I'm gonna keep asking for Lita Ford...PLEASE...her song "Kiss Me Deadly", and she's jammin' on the guitar. She also does a duet with Ozzy Osbourne called "Close My Eyes Forever"...AMAZING!!

You actually reacted to Roxette's “Listen to your heart” on July 19th (It's the one where Jay couldn't believe that people held up lighters at concerts), and you both loved Marie's powerful voice. The song that best showcases her talent (at least in my opinion) is "It Must Have Been Love" - speaking of which, I just love you both!

As teachers you should watch the 1967 movie "To Sir with Love" with the great actor Sidney Poitier. Also the theme song of the same title sung by Lulu is worth a listen

Practically nobody knew the band in the USA, but people recognized it's greatness immediately.
Ahh... the 80s. When you could sit and watch MTV all day and it was just music.... a good Female Friday would be Leann Rimes. Starting with her first hit ‘Blue’.
One of the Key Identifiers in a lot 80s Music was the Gated Snare effect that makes the snare drum sound like its in a medium to large hallway. Life can take many unexpected turns just ask Per (the guy in Roxette). He had given up on becoming huge/famous outside Sweden. However an American exchange in Sweden heard this song on the radio and totally loved it! He went to the local record store and bought the single and brought it with him back home. When home he went to his local radio station and asked them to play The Look, they kept the single and put it on a shelf. Time passed by but no playing Roxette on the radio so the guy got a little upset and asked to have his single back if they didn't wanna play it. Eventually the did play it and the listeners totally loved it to say the least!! Here in Sweden both Per and Marie (Roxette) and their label were completely taking by surprise! So The Look was officially released in the U.S. and peaked at #1 at the Billboard Charts!! Roxette did make it big outside Sweden and especially in South America they were huge! They split up due to Marie's health issues in 2016 when doctors advised against her touring. She passed away in December 2019. Just for the record Per and Marie's releationship were stricty professional just a "couple" on stage not off :)
Another song off this album you guys should check out is "Chances," that's one I've pretty much never seen reacted to but kind of has a spy sort of vibe to me.
This is the song I was jammin to when I hit my face on the dresser & got a black eye...I had the look alright! Still requesting 'Home' by Marc Broussard...please. Love y'all!
Good song. It was one of my sisters favorites. Other good 80s songs I thought of that you should do are The Cure- Just like Heaven or Love Song. Don Henley (from the Eagles)- Boys of Summer, All she wants to do is Dance or Dirty Laundry. Pet Shop Boys- West End Girls or What have I done to Deserve This. J. Giles Band- Centerfold. Fine Young Canibals- She Drives me Crazy (falsetto). Billy Idol- Mony, Mony. Madonna- Like a Prayer. Falco- Rock me, Amedeus. Anyone have any thoughts about J and Amber doing any of these songs?
This was 1988... Roxette were from Sweden, like ABBA. Per Gessle wrote most of the songs, Marie Fredriksson was the singer. She passed away recently from cancer in 2019... she sang most of Roxette's songs. 'The Look' made them a hit in the US back in '89... it was a song Gessle sang lead on. Marie heard the demo and said it wasn't her style... more of a rap vibe, so she did the chorus and backup vocals. For more Marie singing in Roxette, check out their songs - "It must have been love'... 'Sleeping in my car' ... 'Listen to your heart' ... 'Joyride'

They split up due to Marie's health issues in 2016 when doctors advised against her touring. She passed away in December 2019. Just for the record Per and Marie's releationship were stricty professional just a "couple" on stage not off :)
You might listen to Quarterflash- Harden my Heart.....she plays sax and sings..... Also .... BOOMER. Sooners by 14 over Huskers....
Just found you guys channel today love it guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You need to do The Cranberries and Amy Grant
I love Amy
The Cranberries - Linger
He sings the main vocals on the look, joyride, how do you do etc. fantastic band who were immensely popular in the early 90’s!
Check out "Don't you want me baby" by The Human League. It's a great representation of 80s dance music.
Love y'all!
Yes, Home will get you moving, can't sit still to that one, such a good vibe!
One of the finest purest voices of any music genre Marie Fredriksson R.I.P. The song to react to is "Must Of Been Love"
The feed your viewers see is really choppy today. The audio part.
I Call Your Name is my favorite Roxette song - Marie was such a great singer.
You guys should listen to just a girl by No Doubt for female Friday
Roxette are just amazing :)
For some real rocking Marie Fredricksson, try out "Hotblooded" from the CD Joyride
You're spot on about the 80s having their own distinct sound, seemed like no matter the genre the guitars had a crisp clear sound
“It must of been love” is a roxette song featuring her much more
Are you sure it wasn't *It Must've Been Love* or *It Must Have Been Love*?
"Must of* LOL

I grew up with this song. Good choice. So many great songs out there.
Someone I haven’t seen for female Friday is Lisa Stansfield. Been Around the World was her breakout. Love you guys!
Good band, good song. This is what good pop music is. The 1980's was the best decade for music and pop culture.
If we’re going 80’s I would love to hear OMD Enola Gay
All good suggestions. I'll add Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood.
@@colinstevens2691 I just posted some 80s stuff since this is a 80s song, but I know they do a variety of stuff.
My eldest son was a punk into metal and heavy rock, back in the day, but he LOVED Roxette
Speaking of Pat Benatar try Hit Me With Your best Shot. It is definetly a banger
'Joyride'
Must've been love would have been a great choice for this group for female friday
In most of their songs Marie sang lead like in Fading Like A Flower or Listen To Your Heart or even in It Must Have Been Love.
