Yes, I’m really the voice and operator of Geoff Peterson (and Sandra the Rhino 2.0, all of the phone calls, celebrity flies, the entire Shy Fellas band and more!). And this is REALLY my YT Channel! The late late show with Craig Ferguson was the talk show equivalent of that feeling when you're awake Way too late with your friend and you're so tired that everything makes you laugh
This was one of the best 5 minutes of back-and-forth in late night show history, I swear. The timing, the callbacks, the unexpected elements... Just the chemistry that made this work... which is so great because Craig is essentially talking to a piece of plastic and metal that's killing him with laughter. I watched this clip dozens of times in years past, glad I found it again. Huge respect for your talent and wit, Josh, from a fellow Clevelander!
Fellow Clevelander here as well! I have watched this video on TH-cam more than any other, and it never fails to make me laugh. My favorite part is at 3:03 when Geoff barely gets out, “we throw beads we go swimming“ the second time, and Craig loses it - he’s all the way over to the left laying on his desk laughing uncontrollably and trying not to. The whole thing reminds me of study hall in high school, And how we were constantly trying to not be heard when we were laughing so hard.
Many people think Geoff’s mouth movements were voice activated, but in reality I had to flip a switch every time to make the mouth move. Every. Single. Word. There were also separate controls for his right and left arms, head swivel and blinking eye lights. Someone asked recently if the harmonica was pre-recorded. No, that was a real harmonica. All the instruments I used were real. So I learned to move quickly between the remote control and whatever instrument was being used in the moment. All while making stuff up! “Were the phone calls pre-recorded?” Again, cannot emphasize this enough: it was all made up on the spot, in the moment. I never knew what voice I would do until the moment Craig said, “I wonder who might call now…” 📞 While all of this is going on, I’m also using a second remote control to operate and voice Sandra the Rhino on occasion. Plus, I’m voicing all of the phone calls, celebrity flies, every member of the Shy Fellas band, and Secretariat’s inner voice. I've watched this video so many times and had no idea you were the voice actor. Amazing work! That show was so genuine, nothing has come close to replacing it.
I know its a been a while since Craig walked away from late night and since this video was first posted. But this always reminds me of one thing not enough of us are having - a great cleansing, tear-filled laugh that incapacitates us for just a few minutes. This whole country needs that right now.
No truer words have been spoken especially for 2018. Sad to say we might go into WWIII soon with such a failure as our president right now. Or at least that's where I see the U.S. is going.
John Gault It is the president who chooses who goes into his/her office if they are failing it is the presidents responsibility to correct them. As citizens of the United States of America we are here to criticize their work as the President and his/her office. But we should also work hard for a brighter future. Also have a good laugh.
The past is the past. But it's right here too. That's the joy of video media, especially digital stuff. 'Will happen, happening, happened.' to quote BMO.
And that was what made it so magnificently and preposterously hilarious. What’s funnier than two intelligent, creative, and really funny people playing off each other’s ridiculous and random remarks and having as much fun doing that as we had watching them do it?

I am like 420.
I shall celebrate accordingly.
Who else comes back here from time to time to cry tears of laughter along with these two? 😂❤
Regularly 😂😂😢
These guys were in such a groove at the end. It was pure organic comedy, pulled out of thin air on any topic or pretense. None of the current late night stiffs, with their armies of gag writers, lame props, and cheap laughs can touch it .
Well if you are looking for organic comedy, why dont you come to my place in new hampshire. We can throw beads.
*harmonica noise*
Conan is pretty good. Different comedy but the only mainstream late night I like watching. Also Jon Stewart daily show was brilliant too

That harmonica absolutely slays me every time.
Great timing, Josh. Just masterful.

This, to me, is the single greatest segment in talkshow history.
Two professionals playing comedy tennis and it's a beautiful rally that ends in tears.
It should be studied and shown to students of comedy across the world.
After watching at at least 30 times now over the past 6 years, it never fails to make me laugh out loud.

This is comedy GOLD. The genuine look of surprise when Jeff plays the harmonica is just priceless.
Geoff Peterson is a legend 🖤 I miss this show so much
Craig was the only late night host that could make me laugh my ass off every episode haha. Geoff and the horse were just the icing on the cake.

It's going to be pretty grim; to witness the 'Bravestarr' Dark Child, to get crucified by Pastor Sterling. Dark Child gets crucified, by when he gets both of his eyes put out, with a dual enchanted dagger.
Craig Ferguson had revamped my childhood memory, whenever he plays the harmonica. No kidding about this.
In the future; there's not going to be another me, once Arnold Schwarzenegger, discourages every American white man from having sex with their Japanese wives.
For Craig Ferguson; he jumped the conclusions, on sibling rivalry. That's what.

Corden was auch a painful painful downgrade
Feels like a lifetime ago, I was living in a house the size of a one bedroom apartment's living room, without cable/WiFi, phone only made limited calls/texts, no job and starting a long journey of alcoholism. The only time I would forget about all the pain I had in my life was this little 1 hour long block at 1230am, the show would barely seep through one of my 3 mostly static channels, I looked forward to it all day and was sad after it ended. Thank you guys so much, I might not have made it to today without it.
I hope you are doing well now!!

I know its a been a while since Craig walked away from late night and since this video was first posted. But this always reminds me of one thing not enough of us are having - a great cleansing, tear-filled laugh that incapacitates us for just a few minutes. This whole country needs that right now.
You are so correct! I haven't felt properly energized since the show ended. If it weren't for these clips I'd be a zombie.
Just had one watching this.
You should come out to my place in New Hampshire!
My cousin, uncle, and I used to watch Mr Ferguson almost every single night. Still one of the all time greatest!!! ❤️
This is hands down the best unscripted moment of late night talk shows.
I know two things: this is comedy gold and I think I speak for most of us when I say a piece of TV history died. Thank you gentlemen.
The past is the past. But it's right here too. That's the joy of video media, especially digital stuff. 'Will happen, happening, happened.' to quote BMO.
I'm convinced that every night majority of this show was done on the fly.
Rehearsing was for wussies lol
yes indeed, that's why he rips up his interview cards when his guests appear. He prefers actual conversations and reactions...and of course improv.
The later seasons were. The earlier ones obviously had some measure of planning.
And that was what made it so magnificently and preposterously hilarious. What’s funnier than two intelligent, creative, and really funny people playing off each other’s ridiculous and random remarks and having as much fun doing that as we had watching them do it?
That's because it was.
I have watched this dozens of times. I could watch this a million times and I would still start crying from laughter. Whenever I need a pick me up, this is my go to.
My mom was very protective about what I could watch as a kid but she was a huge Craig Ferguson fan and would sometimes let me stay up and watch the show with her. I have so many memories of being 8 or so years old and wandering into the living room way past my bedtime to watch this and laugh with my mom. Thanks for the happy memories
