There's so many young people who want to do things radically against the flow of the "establishment", against the increasing sense of selfishness, who yearn for community. We have to find ways of reaching them, and I think you being authenticly yourself, and showing a hopeful sight like this gathering, definitely helps.
I was an alter server for a Franciscan parish and my Patron Saint is Saint Francis of Assisi. I now currently attend the Tridentine Mass at a parish run by the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP). I will still state that my love and heart will remain Franciscan, and my faith has gone to a more traditional calling. I may not be in route to becoming a priest, but I am happy to see more priests, monks, and friars celebrating their vocations. I am happy to see how conservative and traditional the young priests have become, it gives me hope that the Church will be in good hands for the future. If the Church were to visibly shrink, we Catholics are known for never going away and thrive underground while in persecution (for example: Great Britain during/after the Protestant Revolution; the persecution of the Irish by the British; the Russian and other Latin or Eastern Catholics behind the Iron Curtain). We are the One True Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by Christ Himself upon the rock Saint Peter. We may be persecuted, spat on, beaten, cursed by others, plundered, and shamed, but we will always be the One True Church. I pray that my hopes of a bright Catholic future will be true. This hope comes after reading an amazing book on the history of the Soviet Union from prior, during, and after its collapse called "The White Pill: A Tale of Good and Evil" by Michael Malice. I read that book then read through the history of Our Lady of Fatima and the current crop of priests...especially those from the FSSP and others. We are in a time of struggle, but we will prevail. Seeing so many new friars, priests, monks, nuns, and converts should be evident enough that we have a very positive future ahead. Keep up the great work Fr Casey. Ave Maria. Ave Christus Rex.

It's great to see so many young friars! It's easy to focus on the reasons for worry in the Church today, but the Spirit is always at work and there are many reasons for hope.
As someone who is starting RCIA in September, my calling to Catholicism is multi fold. Most of all, I think, that todays world has abandoned common sense and morality, being forced to accept certain traits of society that would of been unacceptable 30 years ago. So as the world goes crazy it’s only natural to return to the rock of civilization. I’m thoroughly enjoying your videos and brings hope in a world that seems to be crumbling down left and right.

Yes I am extremely proud and blessed and grateful that she is still an active member of the Catholic Church. I thank god every day for her strength of the church and the Catholic community.
I'm so happy to see our Franciscan Brothers meet like this. I've been a part of similar gatherings of sisters in the United States, and it is truly inspiring to be together. Blessings!
I have a memory of a Franciscan priest in southern italy helping the poor. He was also a medical doctor. He could have been making money in a secular life. I remember the joy in his face.
That is encouraging. One thing we lack in the U.S. is the consistent presence of role models. My parish only has the one priest and a couple of deacons. We have a K-8 school, but aside from an annual "vocations" day, there is almost no talk of or consideration of vocations.
It’s very inspiring and gives hope in our faith and youth that God and the Holy Spirit continues to work in our world. I always pray for the Clergy, missionaries and everyone who evangelizes specially to young people. The youth needs guidance from those who give the bread of life, the word of the Lord, to heal them from the deep pain and suffering within their minds and souls. Too much emptiness, anxiety, depression that makes them fall in addictions and all sort of problematic behavior. Thank you Fr. Casey and all doing amazing things to rescue them. THANK YOU LORD JESUS!!!!!
This is very refreshing to see your felllow friars in Europe ❤. I hope that my felllow Filipinos in Europe would help them in keeping the faith in Europe.
What a fantastic video, Casey you are very much part of this rejuvenation, I think this type of meeting of young friars should happen every year. And if it's not being organized "someone 😂" with a suitable profile should make sure it happens every year.
I’m praying that you all become good and holy priests. May you become good role models and great representative of our Lord Jesus to the young people. 😊May God bless you all abundantly.
Hope, hope, hope and pray, pray, pray. God will continue to work wonders. St Francis does whatever Jesus tells him. He continues to do so through the Friars. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
This is great. For a long time I have not been worried about a lack of vocations. Why? Because God will build His Church. Religious orders are not necessary for the Catholic Church to thrive. Yet God has used them to keep the Church thriving for centuries and will likely continue to do so. I am happy to see so many young vocations. In some ways I am not surprised. Many say that our younger generations are more depressed and unfulfilled than ever. What could be more fulfilling than a life dedicated to God?
Father Casey, I have followed the Franciscan Friars on TH-cam for several years and admire the work they do. Is there a misunderstanding around the role of the friar, some who go out to the assist the needy in the most troubled area of the world. May God continue to give you strength and courage..
I stayed at a Benedictine monastery once. It was a Friday night and they had the best fish and chips I ever had. I asked to talk to the guy and back who was making the fish. I went back there and asked if he was the fish friar. He said he was the chip monk. ..... I'll see myself out
St. Francis' charism is beautiful, holy and blessed. He's my favorite saint though I have not done much in the way of research about him or his history, my thought processes have been influenced by what I know of him, his life and his commitment.
The Franciscans are my absolute favourite. There are a number in Melbourne and are just the funniest guys you could ever catch over a beer. They’re such a blessing in my life.
As another commenter noted: falling birthrates, delayed marriage and a hyper-competitive dating climate are contributing factors. I would add to this an increasingly polarized economy that leaves more people fighting each other for scraps. Monasteries have always functioned, in part, as an escape valve either for those who are fed up with the rat race or those who - for one reason or another - have "failed to launch." This isn't a popular or glamorous perspective to take, and I don't mean to denigrate monasticism in elucidating it. Quite the opposite, actually: it takes a special kind of "ambition" or "motivation" to want to give up the chance at a comfortable life for one of constant spiritual and physical struggle, even if your basic needs are taken care of.
@WilhelmEley You have no clue what you’re talking about bud, no offense. Dating and traditional relationships are all but dead in the world today. The male loneliness epidemic is extreme.
@@NoneofYourBusiness667 I don't disagree that have always been men who, for one reason or another, fail to find a romantic partner but what exacerbates it today is greater income inequality. The latter is the true crisis, and while it doesn't address it on a systemic level, monasticism at least provides an opportunity to ameliorate the suffering of those experiencing its worst effects.
@@Fiona2254 Read the account of Saint Moses the Ethiopian. He didn't enter monastic life with entirely pure motives and he struggled at first to maintain the spiritual disciplines. Nevertheless, he eventually overcame his personal hurdles and died a saint and martyr, whom we venerate to this day. You're correct in implying that vocations are spiritually discerned but real-life circumstances can play a role in that process.
For everyone offended by the comment, you are missing the point. People are called to religious life for all sorts of reasons. And in times of crisis sometimes more feel called - in part because of the crisis. That doesn't mean that the vocation isn't real, but that a crisis for an individual or a society can help remind us of what is truly important.

I'm happy that the Order called you to Italy. I'm certain it was a great trip for you. And frankly, given all your tireless efforts as a Franciscan, I'm sure you deserved it.
Peace in Christ,
Dcn. Paul Testa +
Diocese of St. Augustine
I am so happy that I have had the privilege of having a brother to be in my church. He actually did my daughter’s baptism it was so beautiful and amazing and I think that his presence and his love helped me to raise my daughter in the church and she has remained in the church. Yes I am extremely proud and blessed and grateful that she is still an active member of the Catholic Church. I thank god every day for her strength of the church and the Catholic community.
It's so wonderful to see so many young men being blessed with the call to vocation.
I'm so happy to see our Franciscan Brothers meet like this. I've been a part of similar gatherings of sisters in the United States, and it is truly inspiring to be together. Blessings!
May you all be blessed more ❤
..the franciscan friars--- in their 'suti' 😄😊❤
God bless you all, with the Our Lady, Queen of Angels❤
Thanks for this video; it is great. Sure, it’s great to see so many young friars, what really struck me was the joy.
So encouraging!! God bless all of these young men!!
❤ God bless you all ! ❤
I have a memory of a Franciscan priest in southern italy helping the poor. He was also a medical doctor. He could have been making money in a secular life. I remember the joy in his face.
“Lord give us saintly priests; Lord give us holy priests…”
AMEN AMEN AMEN
Love it! Married w kids but i like to watch the religious and sort of live vicariously through them
That is encouraging. One thing we lack in the U.S. is the consistent presence of role models. My parish only has the one priest and a couple of deacons. We have a K-8 school, but aside from an annual "vocations" day, there is almost no talk of or consideration of vocations.
Thank you for sharing this, Fr Casey.
God bless and protect you all.
Much love ❤ JEDI KNIGHTS lol what I called the Friars as a child
Blessings to all
This is very refreshing to see your felllow friars in Europe ❤. I hope that my felllow Filipinos in Europe would help them in keeping the faith in Europe.
Francis, rebuild my church!
I’m 22 years old and looking into the FSSP 😊
Ave Maria!
It’s wonderful to see so many Friars together, pondering the future
God blesses you all!
So lovely to see all those young men!
What a fantastic video, Casey you are very much part of this rejuvenation, I think this type of meeting of young friars should happen every year. And if it's not being organized "someone 😂" with a suitable profile should make sure it happens every year.
God Bless all of you. WE COULD DO WITH SOME OF YOU IN AUSTRALIA!
Very happy to see you all.
I’m praying that you all become good and holy priests. May you become good role models and great representative of our Lord Jesus to the young people. 😊May God bless you all abundantly.
I am glad to see it.
This was beautiful to watch. I live near Assisi and I would have love to participate in this event.
God bless your vocation...
He said he was the chip monk.
.....
I'll see myself out
Lolll
St. Francis' charism is beautiful, holy and blessed. He's my favorite saint though I have not done much in the way of research about him or his history, my thought processes have been influenced by what I know of him, his life and his commitment.
Nice to see all these young me following the Lord
@@Primordial_Synapse vocations are not due to failure to launch, they are called in a different way we lay people are.
Ciao a tutti i Francescani che Dio vi benedica 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
