Possibly the best outcome would be a Labour government with a Lib Dem opposition; perhaps then we can start having a grown up conversation about Brexit instead of continuing to pretend it doesn't exist or it isn't an issue. The problem is that for decades, apart from the right wing parties, nobody has voted for the party they feel most represents their interests, they've been voting AGAINST the party they hate the most, and that can't be healthy in a supposed democracy.

Lib Dems have no chance! I recently had a conversation with two of my Lib Dem local councillors, seventeen days out from the election they did not even know the name of the local Lib Dem candidate and had no intention of campaigning for them. The Lib Dem party came from defecting MP's and never made an impact beyond propping up a Tory government for their own personal survival. They are a wishy washy party who actually stand for nothing and have no real vision for the British people.
Nationally they have sold out to the EU and have swallowed the Global Warming climate emergency poison rather than "Following the real Science" (A clue, World temperatures have been reducing for eight years now despite increasing levels of CO2 in the same period, + no correlation between the gas of all life and global warming). The Lib Dems are an ok alternative to Labour in the area I live but on the national stage, NO THANKS!

@petermartin2346 world temperatures have been rising by an average of 0.06 degrees Celsius per decade since 1850. Since the 1980s this rate has increased threefold. How does this mean temperatures are falling? Can you show evidence to support your spurious claim?

Vote tactically in your area against the tories (unless you live in a seat where the tories can’t win) to reduce them to little more than dust and get Ed Davey as our LOTO. @mr.thegreat557 Fascism is a system of government based on authoritarianism, ultranationalism, militarism, and prejudice. Often a one-party state, with opposing voices banned or imprisoned, and led by a dictatorial, populist leader. A fascist is one who supports, approves of, colludes with, or practices fascism. Logically, maybe Lib Dems, or Conservative. Many people out there, who don't voice opinions, always voted for, better the devil you know, is a thing, undecided still, and even if invited, rarely accept a chance to add their tick to a poll. Referendum, in or out? In was suppose to win by 4-million, bit of a shock when the poll was wrong. Many people were at that rally yesterday in London, over 60k, none would ever vote reform, that is just a fraction of the ones who didn't go. It wouldn’t work- not unless they merged into a single parliamentary party (though this wouldn’t require them to join up their wider parties, look at Labour and the Coop party) - because the official opposition is simply the largest group of MPs that isn’t in government, there isn’t really any sort of coalition system that can be done for it. Also the SNP and Lib Dems are not only rivals for certain seats in Scotland but also disagree heavily on Scottish independence with SNP being pro independence and Lib Dems very passionately federalist.

The greens should be getting more, given the climate crisis! FPTP stops that from happening really, that and the fact that they make more noise in the media about social and economic issues first. I like there ideas and if I’m honest, probably would vote for them if they could win in my area. However, the climate crisis is so important, they should just have policies about climate change and try to build a broad political consensus that encompasses right and left

The non Labour mps will be a more effective opposition when they agree on policy. In fact, more generally, if people unite, they are stronger than when they are divided. This applies to groups of people, as well as countries. The modern problem, is individuals and groups of people, as well as countries drifting apart, when they don't strongly disagree with each other. This means that everyone is more easily exploited. Personally, I hope that the next UK Government will work together with the opposition in the best interests of all our citizens, including those who voted for different parties.

    • @Sujki19

Any party who worked for the citizens of this country would be a huge improvement. Imo, I don't think the Tories, Labour or Reform will make much difference and the way forward may be the smaller parties and independants working together, then maybe views other than right wing and populist will be represented.

Farage can't just "takeover" a political party the way he took leadership of Reform UK Ltd - the grassroots would revolt - most of them are not UKIP or Reform by choice. Whether the majority of Tory councillors and activists would back Farage is unlikely. Would Labour accept George Galloway as its leader without a fight and a membership vote?
