Lib dem, green and some labour have policies for younger people such as lib dem bringing in PR voting, green scrapping tuition fees and labour also now bringing in votes for 16+ plus some nationalisation. Claiming that they’ve ’brought down inflation’ is like claiming you created the rain to put out a fire. A fire that The Tories, apparently had nothing to do with.
Bringing down inflation would mean deflation. Instead, all they've done is reduce the rate of increase in inflation, so prices will keep rising, but slower.
@@aaronb2779 On the contrary, deflation IS meant to happen, as a direct result of increases in efficiency, innovation / scientific development, productivity, etc. Unfortunately, the government completely obliterates that natural deflation by constantly printing money to debase the currency at their "target" rate of 2% no matter what. So everything is always getting more expensive, all the time, so that the government can debase the currency and inflate away their debt. The natural mechanism, absent government/central bank currency debasement, is deflation. The only reason people fear-monger about deflation is because they want their debts to be inflated away and to benefit from newly printed money.

Welfare is a crutch for the broken leg the government gave us in the first place, in the form of taxation, regulations, currency debasement, other restrictions on human freedom, etc. And yes, welfare and entitlements are a huge cost, because the burdens imposed on us are so huge. Because they have no intention of doing it. Instead, they just want to continue doing the same old crap they've been doing, but know they have to fool the public into thinking they're not.

Don't bring Splatoon into politics! You never know what the next splatfest could be!
New Splatfest just dropped: Conservative vs Labour vs None Of The Above
Well, there's only gonna be 3 more splatfests (assuming one happens this month) so the chances of _that_ happening now is zero.
Wow a fellow Splatoon fan in the wild... to be honest I agree with you 😂
I’m going to be 21 on the day of the election, study politics at university and fail to feel cared about or considered in politics… it’s a shame how little young people feel the need to vote or point in doing so.
That's self reinforcing - Why try to appeal to people who don't vote? At least you can console yourself with the knowledge that one day you'll be one of the old people listening to a new generation of young people complaining about you. Old people can remember (vaguely) being young once and have young children or grandchildren that they care about but the young have yet to experience being old.
Lib dems and greens have more policies targeting younger voters. Check the manifestos. Also labour have some policies relating to what would benefit younger voters.
These parties have policies include decreasing voting age to 16, Labour want to create a national green energy company, nationalise trains (good for young voters as they use trains a lot and should bring price down) lib dems want to bring in PR voting which is good for democracy as resonates more with younger voters. Green want to scrap tuition fees.
The biggest problem is young people don't vote on the day compared to older people usually, so it makes sense for parties like the tories to target older voters. Basically, MAKE SURE YOU VOTE 🙂
At least vote for the Monster Raving Loony Party or for Count Binface. Show up but be angry at everyone.
Lib dem, green and some labour have policies for younger people such as lib dem bringing in PR voting, green scrapping tuition fees and labour also now bringing in votes for 16+ plus some nationalisation. If young go out and vote in higher numbers then policies will reflect even more. Sadly not many young don't turn up on election day. Everyone should go out and vote.
@@2dradon2 Why is it sad that older voters show up more? Would it be better if older voters showed up less? How ageist can you get?
Claiming that they’ve ’brought down inflation’ is like claiming you created the rain to put out a fire. A fire that The Tories, apparently had nothing to do with.
Bringing down inflation would mean deflation. Instead, all they've done is reduce the rate of increase in inflation, so prices will keep rising, but slower.
@@npcknuckles5887yes because deflation isn’t a thing that’s meant to happen mate

Terrible. More cuts to welfare to pay for lower taxes. Wouldn’t a means tested pension be more fair? There are plenty of wealthy pensioners who don’t need quadruple lock pension whilst the working people and disabled get hammered
Interestingly working people today are the first since records began to be more likely to have less income than their parents.
ll they are the tories after all
Welfare is a crutch for the broken leg the government gave us in the first place, in the form of taxation, regulations, currency debasement, other restrictions on human freedom, etc.
And yes, welfare and entitlements are a huge cost, because the burdens imposed on us are so huge. If it wasn't for those burdens, we wouldn't need the crutch in the first place. We'd be able to stand tall and proud. Instead, we're all hobbled and crushed under the weight of this oppressively huge and burdensome government.

It's a Libertarian standpoint. On principle, I am in favour of individual liberty and respect for the natural rights of the individual. That necessarily means opposing big government, socialism, communism, fascism, corporatism, cronyism, etc.

Don't forget, under the conservatives, in FOUR years, Inflation has risen to 20%, yes, not 2 or 3% as they claim, but TWENTY PERCENT.
The Bank of England deserves the lion's share of the blame, considering that they were the ones who printed ~£700 BILLION, during covid, to fund government profligacy. The money supply went through the gd roof, and the sky high inflation was the result.

What a waste of paper.
Rolled my eyes so hard at the Mickey Mouse degrees bit
Right?
Tory plan: Lets cut university funding
Problem: They have no money to research and stuff
Solution: Lets turn them into businesses! Charge tuition fees!
Problem 1: Students are loaded with debt equal to more than a house deposit.
Problem 2: Universities need more students to balance the books, but can't hire more teachers to actually teach them, so now the teachers are striking because of over work and no corresponding increase in pay. Hence: less contact hours.
Conclusion: more expensive degrees and less teaching.

As well as any qualification that doesn't lead to a blue collar job.
Except when they take them, of course
Just for the record, I did PPE (at the same college as Sunak, in fact), so I feel qualified to state that he *definitely* did a humanities degree. Sure, some of the individual modules (especially in econ) might be more mathsy/sciency, but overall the unifying theme of the degree is 'humans, and how they interact'. You can even take law and sociology modules, for precisely that reason.
Honestly, I'm pretty sure arts and humanities are fine as long as they're *traditional* arts and humanities. Like, Eng Lit is fine, but film studies? Ew! It's so... modern!
