Why would you flick it so hard when the phone is already open? Then complain the hinge sucks when it obviously folds down. I've had this phone for 2 months and the only complaint I have is the battery life. While waiting for a phone case I dropped this phone twice thinking the screen is cracked or damaged, and to my suprise not a scratch on the screen or damage to the hinge at all.
I've had this phone ever since it was released on cricket wireless. To me the battery life is great I only have to charge it every other day. I do use the front screen more often than anything else.
I mean he explains it. It’s not about if you would ever do that in use, it’s a test in longevity. If it wobbles now it could lose its ability to keep the phone open when upright in a few months. It’s just something to look out for. Why are you watching a review channel if you don’t want possible extended use issues brought up? The weaker a hinge is out if the box the weaker it will be in 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, etc.
I think the hinge is great, definitely an improvement over the 23 model. obviously if you constantly flick it open as hard as you can it will destroy it. I've had mine for months now with no problem at all. if you are going to abuse it like that its not for you.
This phone is for normal people not tech bros. It's a great phone, takes good pictures and videos for everyday use, haven't had a problem with it yet. If you have an opportunity to upgrade to it at a good price go for it. Just take care of it like any other phone and it'll last. If you are rough with your phones you shouldn't be looking at a foldable anyways.
I'm about due for a upgrade with boost and I currently have the 2023 Razr. I love it overall but the pre installed screen protector started to peel up in the middle from regular opening and closing about a month ago. So I'm wondering if this new model has the same issue because I can get this one now for $199?
@@sarachigod I can use my headphones because my phone has a physical headphone jack. Other phones expect you to use wireless headphones or headphones that connect through the charging port. I don't want that.
I just got one for $449 on amazon which feels like a crazy deal. I remember when flips were 1200 and thinking I'd never get one. At sub $500 it makes a ton of sense
The only complaint I have is the lack of google assistant not working when the phone is closed, deal breaker. No accountability between google or Motorola.
I am not hard on phones so I am not experiencing any of the "so-called" durability issues that you are talking about..many of which can be solved by putting the phone in a case..
If you keep your fingernails short and don't scrape them across the screen you won't have scratches I've had my phone for over a month and I don't have any scratches on the internal screen. I also don't use a case and the outer screen has no marks on it whatsoever.
While I do like the Moto Razr 2024 from what I've seen of it, I wouldn't buy any flip phone because of durability concerns. Motorola promised the Razr phones this year were designed to be 35% more durable but that's likely marketing to get people to buy the phones. There's a cool factor about flip phones but they aren't durable enough to convince me that they're safe to use as a primary phone.
I’m trying to figure out durability before I buy one… I’m stuck between the Razr 50 and a Pixel 9. The razr has more consistently good reviews compared to the pixel
@@brandoncain4832 I like the Razr but I'd probably go with the P9. The Pixel has mostly good reviews that I've read and this year Google made them more premium. Honestly though, if prices weren't a concern then the Samsung S24 or S24+ would be the ones to buy.
I have had a samsung flip 3 for three years and a flip 4 for two years and no problems with mine. I even did about 3000 delivery with doordash with the flip 4 with no problems. I haven't had the motorola yet but it next to try.
If you flick it open and closed hard like a 2003 Nokia you'll break it faster then someone who takes care of there shit... And the USB c port is used for headphones.. these review TH-camrs started off as IGN reviewers cuz they miss every point
Because they removed the felt bezel from the folded screen on the flagship Razr + 2024 it has a major flaw. If you open the phone just a little to hard it shatters the front screen. FYI!!!!
Duh??? If you abuse the hinge like that then of course you're gonna have problems. There's no need to be so rough with the phone ... No wonder you have problems with the phone.

they’ve dropped it from a moving car window and it was fine iirc
I sleep on mine open all the time, accidently. But no defects from it 😂🎉😅

Can it screen record ?
Yes it can. @@sarachigod
I had this phone since August 3 2024 it's now October 1 .. still as new
Does the front allow an app like fb messenger? So you can respond w/o opening kind of thing?
@@imagine263yes it allows you to respond to messages on the external display.
I have had the phone for over a month and my hinge is perfect. It's stiff and it holds in whatever position you place it in.

I bought the Razr minus 2024 in beach sand color. Great phone. And retro mode is really cool.
Not having a headphone jack is actually a negative for me.
I'd also like to see an SD card slot.

Well that's fine by me, I have wireless earbuds with Bluetooth 🤷
