I don't know if Chainsaw-dam would be effective in Gundam universe, but it's definitely intimidating if it ever were encountered in a dark close grounded area... or modified with laser/beam chainsaws or even shoots high tech "chain gun" or summon chains to hold down enemies.
That also an idea man, thank for your coment. hehe
Chainsaws are damn effective in iron blooded orphans, they don't have any beam-based weaponry and only use actual physical armaments like actual guns and swords, Barbatos even had a chainsaw inside a club he used in one of his forms that would clamp down and cut through enemy armour
yeah its either to give some mid-long range support damage equipment or just give em high-end armour which can deflect almost any type of projectiles or lasers so gundam can just rush and barge in without care like how an og chainsaw man fight.
Chainsaws need prolonged contact to really dig in. I could see it working on a corralled/pinned Mobile Armor, or a base wall, but I'd build it into the forearms to really ride the beast.
I don't want to imagine the gun(dam)devil. Probably a whole cloak that on closer inspection is masses of ammo belts.
