He started waving the wand and let go and it flew into the flute section😂 He kept going and so one of the flute players grabbed it, As he kept going she started waving it until he took it away but the site was hilarious!

I was in stage band (jazz and big band crap) and we had this awful 1960s soft jazz piece called "Peaches" ...complete elevator music at a department store crap. But for some reason, we thought it was hilarious to play "Peaches" non-stop at every possible performance or rehearsal and would randomly start the song whenever someone yelled out "PEACHES!"... Our band director thought it was the stupidest thing ever but he entertained us because it brought us joy to play this stupid song over and over. It was kind of a "well, if you give us crap, we will replicate the crap infinitely forever"... The next year, that was not in the song packet. Go figure. We would also play the intro to "In the Mood" by Glenn Miller (much like this band did) instead of another song just to be dicks... Band kids are huge dorks. This kind of mischief is entertaining for them... Later in life, in my mid-20s, I was a member in a punk rock band that did a few small tours... The first time I got to trash a hotel I was like "Oh shit! Now THIS is fun!" although at that point in my life, alcohol and other fun chemicals had entered the equation. Plus I was now in a band that females actually payed attention to. IF for no other reason, pay attention in band class so you can go start a real band after school and play what you actually enjoy. It will be a LOT more fun, I promise.

In American colleges / universities they’re called band directors not conductors
A lot of times pep band books have two songs to a page, so #40 would be on the bottom right of that book.
