Hello dear friend. How long you think a person takes do assembly the engine? Of course you probably do it in 1 morning or a bit more only but an unexperienced person would take what? 2 days? 3?
Good day friend . Yes you can . My yamaha XT was 595cc from factory. I bought a +3mm larger piston from wiseco (98mm).After installing the motorcycle is considered 634cc. The companies you can choose from are wiseco and wossner. The biggest piston without crazy machining work to do (such as spliting the crankshaft cases and adding another in the middle) is 98mm. Installation is pretty simple as you only need to bore the cylinder. The next option is 101mm piston from wiseco. For that, besides boring the cylinder you need to "clear your crankcase (means to profesionally machine them for the piston to travel without hitting the case ) . With that piston your engine would be 675cc. I have compared my XT with others that have done this and theirs is considerably faster . However it cost them ALOT more $ and time . Choice is yours. If you want ,send me a message and i can tell you what i did to mine and see if that works for you. Have a blessed day
May i also add that in case you want to build a BULLETPROOF motor. I put caps because the only thing you need to make this motor indestructible is a connecting rod from CP . It's lightweight and has overall better rigidity. a friend's 675cc XT has a wiseco piston and cp conrod and the thing has been continuously thrashed . burnouts, wheelies ,street racing you name it. going strong for 3 years now.
