This is a excellent overview of how to take your dog on the Queen Mary 2, we traveled with our pup in July 2024 and all of the comments are spot on. We also miss Oliver and John, the awesome Kennelmasters of the QM2. We booked very early (19 months) and were still waitlisted, we had a single kennel open in November of 2023 for July 24. There were two travelers on our sailing that managed to get last minute (3-4 month) bookings for a kennel due to cancellations. The paperwork is indeed the biggest stress, particularly if traveling to the UK, the timing of the heartworm treatment and getting certification is VERY short. Well done video!

Thank you for this video! It was very helpful. Our dog is on the waitlist for a July 2025 sailing.

This is great info, thanks! Curious what you do with dory when you go out to eat or into museums, or all the touristy stuff? Most hotels say you can't leave a dog alone in the room.

I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Regarding Dori, there were times when we left her in the room by herself. On other occasions, we took her with us, either to the attraction itself or by splitting up. One of us would visit the museum while the other stayed with Dori, and then we’d switch.

@@ThePerpetualTravelers-ct8mz Thanks so much! I've traveled solo for the past 15 years and have had my dog for 4 years. Travel has almost completely halted because it's difficult to figure out how to handle seeing the sites...I can't move around as fast with her and/or take her into all the places, but also found it very difficult to leave her home with a sitter the one trip I did go on for 17 days. So thinking I'll try taking her next time, but want to figure out the logistics before trying ;0)

Re: pet passport. Does the European vet accept the rabies shot from the US or do they administer another one in Europe for the passport?

Hi, thank you for this information. I have six dogs that I will be taking with me. I looked at the Queen Mary 2 site and found a date that works, however, it does not show anything about booking for your dogs. Did you have to call them to book the dogs, or is there a different site that I have to go to. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, kennel bookings cannot be made online. Reservations must be completed over the phone.
