I feel that this adapter is somewhat of a hidden gem, at least in North America -- one of the reasons why I made this quick "infomercial". :) We've almost got the 264-series fully covered with replacement ICs and the TED is the only one that doesn't have a modern replacement. All other ICs have a modern EPROM/74xx/FPGA counterpart.
Oh how cool! Nice to know these are available. I am thankful my PLUS/4 still works fine... But it keeps getting older every day!

Remember, you need an updated kernal for serial IO to work.
I don't have a commodore pc. How about a video on replacing the optical drive on a PS4
