I still had the Norelco shaver my dad bought me when I joined the Navy back in 1971. It lasted me the whole 6 years I was in. It served me well for another 20+ years until I lost it when moving. They made things out metal back then. Not made in China out of plastic.
You could use a small box cutting knife to hold the contacts in place while installing the contact board. Once the circuit board is almost in place you pull the thin blade out. Careful with the super sharp blade!
It appears a flyback diode may eliminate the arc. Food for thought....nice video
I wonder if ? works for PRINT to reduce the count of memory in use! I use to do this with programming in Basic Way back 40 years ago... however because ? = PRINT it might be a wash to the interpreter because ? = PRINT however if the interpreter wastes 4 characters of 5 character PRINT in interpretation you might gain memory by 4 characters not needed?
All of the BASIC commands are tokenized and consume 1 byte when entered. To enter PRINT you press the PRINT button on the keyboard controller; the software won't accept PRINT or ? as a command when entered as text.
Yo tengo el Holy stone HS 175D pero no trasmite el wi-fi para conectar ala aplicación alguien puede ayudarme
Just wondering: could you solder a NEC UPD 765 with supporting logic on a board that sticks right into the expansion board. That way you can hook up 4 3,5 inch shugart drives from a single 34p flat cable, instead of building a complete 6502 computer for each drive.
Thanks for the clear explanation. Now make a second one! This game is no fun on your own.
How can I find your repair video on the button switch. I've not been successful in fixing this and it's making me crazy because it seems so simple, but I just cant see where the inner spring piece that engages the handle goes. Any advice would be great. Thank you.

Omg ... Finally, I'll be able to play that game after 35 years. I just ordered the cable and the terminal.(Already have the other components). hope I'll be able to make one without too many issues. Have you thought to put your schematic and video on a GitHub?
Thank you for this presentation and unboxing!
Tengo un podadora de carro pero se me quebró la huasa que llevan dónde la puedo conseguir
That's fantastic, thanks for the idea...I'll try the same with 2mm thick Aluminium sheet
This is an excellent video describing the operation and repair of this switch! I ordered a replacement switch when I started having the symptoms you described. I never knew that one set of contacts works as a braking circuit. I also like your modification for the burnt AC cord connection. Thank you.
My transmitter battery 🔋 will not charge from day one , I get the red light when charging but it stays red overnight, battery 🔋 is dead 💀, I love your video , are spare batteries 🔋 available as I could just solder a new one in thank you 🙏🏼 again for your video
One mo t’ing…my blade was almost freely spinning, the insulator was worn almost flat. I bought a replacement insulator after first thinking it was a sheered cotter pin (but it doesn’t work that way). Tried to turn the center bolt with a socket wrench, slipping. I tried to hold the metal square with a clamp 👎 slips, lockjaw couldn’t clamp enough bite, but then i found my flat “sink drain wrench” by Superior…perfect tool for gripping the square. I do have to see if I can return the pair of fans that i bought with the insulator. The Amazon seller’s parts view only showed the fan side; this was from an earlier model B&D that isn’t flat on the non-fan side.
Excellent
Changing the ttl glue logic to surface mounts would save a lot of space.
Great video, I used switch 3x6x4.2 for the joystick and for the action button I used 3x6x5 now I have 3 controls working again. Thanks man!
Nice video. I have that lawn mower, it is so annoying how the insulator easily strips. I am not an engineer but there must be some better way to design it.
I just bought this switch I dd not I know I could fix it.
Can I just bypass the switch and connect the 2 black wires and keep the other 2 disconnected?
Me again. This year I found my Lawn Hog was vibrating, loose blade after doing my backyard relatively heavy grass. I looked up cotter pin, finding an electric uses a plastic insulator not a cotter pin. Also, two of the fins were gone. Parts are scarce; a source on Amazon but the shipping adds up. It’s still in transit; i used an old reel mower yesterday. I will fix it, being old school i’d sooner repair than replace but the price of parts…whew, close to a false economy. I’m looking at, until the parts arrive, drill a couple holes in the fan I’ll be replacing and put a couple tie wraps holding the blade secure, for now. And sharpen the blade so it’s less challenged.
U are the best
I have the same drone but issue is that i wont connect with my wifi or my phone. And the camera wont work if it somehow connects. Should i just replace the wifi and camera pcb. Please someone help me. This drone was my forst good gift😢😢
I have the same drone but i cand find any sits to get a new body for it i broke the body peac that holds the witng in
I have this drone. I love it.
Great video. Gives me a clear piece of the puzzle. Wanting to do a 512 x 8 switcher with a 39040. A lot of old car ECUs used 27256 and 27512 eproms. Have to learn how to design the board now.
W!iZard! This is Awesome Sir! Well Done. Still have my Christmas '89 7800, I need to Restore is and Update it, looking for ideas. New Sub; Dryden, Mich
I bought a copy that didn’t have the keyboard for some reason. The fact that it came from Big Lots probably explains that.
Awsome DIY Steve 👌Thank you so much as thanks to you I was able to repare the broken jack of my oldest XBox S controller and without breaking the case in the process 👍 Savec me the cost of repair (out of waranty) and more so buy a new one !
I'm attempting to repair one that I found. All of this looks good, and i get power- it propells itself across the yard just fine. Only problem is, the blades still not spinning. I've only removed the orange cover, blade and battery. Is there a drive motor i havent seen yet *and* the blade motor I'm looking at?
First try crazy glue it works great!
Rolling staaaaaaaaaaart! Thanks for the great video!
thank you! I found some of the replacement parts for my 19" lawn hog mulching mower but am still looking for a replacement blade. These are discontinued. The unique shape may be needed
Good luck finding a blade.
What if I wanted to (on dvd player -as I want only dvds to be able to play ) disable usb port somehow ,could I cut a cable on the inside or something?
I can't get my blade off. I hold the blade still and the bolt just spins without loosening or tightening. What do I do?
Same here. Wish there was an answer.
I had the same issue, try realigning the blade, plastic and metal square with each other and hold everything down towards the lawnmower while wrenching the fastener off. Hope it works for you, that was what helped me
SIR YOUR NOBLE EFFORTS ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED....THANK-YOU VERT MUCH !!
This is a great video I'm glad I found it this explains everything I needed to know 👍
Your PSU is so small, it could even fit within the case, wouldn't that be beautiful?
I have a couple ideas to power the drive from a USB-C power supply with Power Delivery. In practice, we only need 5V at about 2-3A, but using 12V and a small buck regulator will make a tidy and compact versatile supply.
500 USD nowadays for a working 1581? OMG. I used to have one in 1994, bought it with a defective disk drive, paid like 15 Deutsche Mark, and put an old Amiga Chinon drive in that I had laying around and boom it worked. Sold it in 2005 and by then the price already was like 50 Euros (100 Deutsche Mark, 55 USD). But 500? I should have kept it :( and several other vintage items I sold back then, too.
Damn, an amiga fpga board on it... what a form factor!
i am very interested in upgrading the antenna in the transmitter. This is my first drone and I would love a video on how to do that or your thoughts not even sure how i would attached or where to get and external. Love the video was very helpful after my first big crash.
I have a used HS175D, the camera won't scroll down, a very important option,... any idea, what I can try,..??? I pulled it apart couldn't really totally expose the camera,... or can I get a replace ment camera,..!??? Help,...
I'm not sure what might cause the camera to not move, but a replacement might be worth a shot. The manufacturer should be able to tell you where to get a replacement module.
Love how the Commodore community is "somewhat" discovering the DIY aspect of the hobby. Considerably later because they used to stick with "that can't be done" for way too long, but hey maybe the future might yield something making me return at some point, even tho I consider that very unlikely.
I have this model .... not visible in the lists of wi fi for connection...gps ok...what could be the reason?
it's your phone I switched to a 5G phone and now it works great. Love the HS175D but you must calibrate and have a full battery.
Good. Not a fan of destructive upgrades. Why are people not using the expansion port at the back?
I had this when it came out, when every home computer in the 80's came with Basic !! Can't really blame Atari that they jumped on the same band wagon which proven to be a BAD idea. But Damn !! Isn't the label art on the cartridge look INCREDIBLE !!
Correction: These devices were NOT popular in the 90s. They were popular in the late 80s. The world have moved on from 8-bit C64s by the 90s.
When I discovered they existed, it was already the early 90s, but after all I was still under 10 years old :P
Nice tutorial!!! This is a wonderful introduction to microcontroller world!!! Cheers from Retronic Design!
Thank you for your kind feedback, and thanks again for producing that mouse driver so quickly when we talked about the Driving Controller issue just over a year ago!
@@SteveGuidi You deserve it! I’m actually working on a new firmware (3.3) that will improve latency performance in some demanding games. I will also release some cumulative improvements I made on some specific controller firmware. A latency test tool with few external components will also be released « open-source and open-hardware ». Only needed thing will be a sound card to trigger an external pin. Audio cards has DAW capabilities for auto-benching their round-trip latency. I’ll take advantage of this! 😉
These days you have web browsers that think 8GB of RAM isn't enough, while back then some mad man made a BASIC development environment for a machine that was built from recycled pinball machine parts, 128 bytes of ram and that I'm pretty sure didn't even have any BASIC compilers for it at the time.
