Got one 12v 6A from ebay, was super light, cracked it open and its spec was 60W on the board 5A only, put a bunch of those cheap usb 2A load testers on a large usb hub and proved it could only do half of its rating, none of the spec were right. The real one was at least 2x the weight, only bought it to use up an expiring coupon. My real wavlink dock adapter that fried on me was so well fused I was tearing strips of plastic off the seam and it was well packed inside, the ebay one just pops apart with clips. I found another ebay report post where they showed a picture a small power supply complete with its own plug wire bodged inside a larger box, mine wasn't that bad but it wasn't up to spec. Ebay post is "Fake or Counterfeit Electronics from China" for the bodge one. The sale listings are usually for led strips, I guess most people don't load enough strip on them to notice the problem.
Just got screwed in 2023 trying to power a gtx 750ti externally OEM which max tdp is 60watts crashes every time games launch and demands ramp up black screen was suppose to be a 12 volt 8 amps which is plenty head room over 60 watt draw screwed my money by Chinese USA sellers.
I too think the big electronics distributors (Mouser, DigiKey, Arrow, etc... ) are the best sources. They stock components from manufacturers and their business directly depends on those components meeting specifications.
@@SteveGuidi Let's start sending making products here and take China citizens money and do same thing back. I mean they seem to be still doing it and getting away with in 2023. I just got screwed my money trying to play PC games which can't black screens when card up ramps starting a game up

A year late, but I also got burned by one of those. The only difference is mine actually had a lead weight added to it to make it seem heavier.
