- This version of Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker, Black dog remastered by RudenkoArt, serves as a wonderfully evocative bridge between the early, understated Zeppelin of the Albert Hall era and the full-blown grandeur their performances would assume throughout the rest of the seventies.
The visuals and the soundtrack of this live performance of are a digitized 'mash' of two separate performances: the film footage taken from the band's performance at the Sydney Showground in Australiam in February 1972; the music from a Long Beach Arena show, in Los Angeles, in the summer of 1972.
"The fourth album had just come out and we were on a roll. Even though the visuals and soundtrack are from different performances, the energy that comes across is palpable." - John Paul Jones

Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.
Was drizzling ☔ rain until just on 2pm and the sun came out as they kicked off with Immigrant Song. They played for 3 hours 20 min and nailed it. We didn’t have tickets 🎟 we just walked in through the gate with the crowd. 🤩
Who's a Lucky Bunny Then😂❤
The good old days
@@michaelmayo1485 LOL Very very lucky. Sitting near a beach and a mate drove up in a packed Kombi and yelled out "wanna go to see Led Zeppelin?" Nobody had tickets but lucked the unexpected crowd and the overwhelmed collector at a wide open gate. Slipped $5 into his shirt pocket for a beer and thanked the guy😆🤩
Once in lifetime will four great individuals come together to create a band and rule the world of rock n roll for generations. Still the best rock blues band of all time. Simply sublime.🎸🥁🎤🎹🎼💙♥️
70s people in tune with thw music. Today, people are tuned to a stupid cell phone!
Is true!
Greatest band ever saw them 13 shows. Always great
Prime Zeppelin was, is and always will be untouchable!
Amazing section rhythmic by Jones and Bonham🤟🏻🔝
like a freight train
From 8:01...OMG. And I had more than 40 years (I got few more years) listening LZ. This material is just awesome. THANKS !!
Will you just look at the bare stage they had back then. Imagine what a show today would look like.
................with better cameras and filming.
Music is notes!
5:35-5:45....... Sorry Joe B. You are a prodigy, but NO ONE will ever reach this intensity Jimmy had here. Unbelievable the zone he was in here.
I think 1972 was Led Zeppelin's best year.
These are some of the best live renditions of these songs I have heard!
I think this is the best I've ever heard Mr.. Page live. Clearly not under the influence and not nearly as sloppy as usual. They all sound so tight. Wish there were more live recordings of them like this.
The jet lag would’ve killed most mere mortals.
I saw them in 1971 and 1973. Frankly, Jimmy was absolute perfection. The old band was. I saw them again in 1977 and my jaw hit the ground. Jimmy probably weighed a hundred pounds soaking wet. His appearance was horrifying and his playing was almost as bad. All my friends and I thought for sure he would not be around for another five years. Thank God for him and his loved ones that he pulled it together and is still rocking today!
He must have changed his live rig after Houses was recorded and they started playing to larger audiences. Saw them in ‘73 @MSG and his live playing was incredible. By the Physical Graffiti tour things were a lot looser and drugs became the focus of their tours.
Page had a recording truck at every gig. He has 1000s of hours of fresh cuts in his vaults and it started in 1969, so they must be amazing! Let's call him and get him to release it all. Hahaha! Yeah, I hear you about the "under the influence" but man, if I was doing 320 dates a year for five f'n years straight I might need to be under the influence. Isn't it enough they were the greatest band of the 20th century (on record)? It is for me.
@@theStacyJames I totally see your point and agree. I also agree that the studio recordings are unmatched. I understand the substance abuse. It's a disease and anyone can become afflicted. I would have probably fallen prey as well.
Brilliant hearing this, it was a shame plants voice broke not long after. They were right on top of their game here.
You must be a singer.
It broke that early???
I’ll need to give that a good look. I know it broke at some point. Happens to the best sometimes.
@@Noumenon4IdolatryIt had actually already broken at this point. This is kind of his voice’s final stand. Just listen to this song live in 1970 or 1971 and compare it with this, it’s night and day difference. His voice is weaker and less full than normal believe it or not. Despite that he still sounds pretty great overall. He was just a good singer.
Beatles were fading and Led Zeppelin took over!
and 10 million other bands ... good grief. "Did you like the Monkeys OR The Beatles" ... such is the question for people who know not the plethora of talent across genres.
The beatles?? Wtf, have they got to do with this type of musical prowess. Led zeppelin werein a whole different league! I grew up in the sixties. There were hundreds of decent bands. Anyways the kinks were far better than the beatles.
@@LoveOneAnotherHeSaidI understand. I like all three and most during that time frame
Different style, Beatles are still goat@@steviem1000
Great!!! I would like to see the complet concert movie. Best band ever.
SEEN ZEP TWICE ,, !972 & 1973 ,,, BUFFALO,N.Y. BEST CONCERTS EVER!!!!!!.....
Music matterd back then todays stuff is just plastic!!!!
"BEST BAND EVER"

truly AMAZING
😮😉😆
It is nice to hear the songs from the band on the phone and radio
I heard they were coming to Sydney in ‘72 , I heard it on the radio though I was only 14 and couldn’t get there from Kalgoorlie where I was living!
so sad I missed the one and only time they came to Australia! Long Live Led Zeppelin! You kept me going when I was going through a very emotional tumultuous time at a young age! With Gratitude! 🙏 listening to your record on a portable record player, wow, yep thats how we heard you scratches and all! It didn’t diminish the raw power you emulated together, then and now, The Song remains the same!
My dad worked in the mines in kalgoorlie back in the 1940s
It is nice to hear the songs on the phone
I seen them live in Chicago 1977. The were awesome!!
Same tour in '77 I seen them in Tempe Arizona @ The A.S.U. Gammage Activity Center.
Extremecedora y Vibrante Música. Excelente Rock.
It’s too bad back in the day they didn’t have great video ! Beggars can’t be choosy !!
THIS is on film. Film. You just don't know.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So back in 1972, LZ was called 2SM?
Sydney commercial AM Radio Station, you never heard of.
I am not sure this is the actual soundtrack of the video.
No it isn't...this recording is from "How the West was Won" in Sunny California's LA Forum...Love It just the same as all ZEP!
Footage is Australia
But...
Music is from two shows in California.
L.A. Forum (25 June 1972) and Long Beach Arena (27 June 1972).
Was lucky enough to see Led Zeppelin 8/22 71 LA Forum 6/28/72 Tucson Az Albuquerque, New Mexico in 73,and 4th and final time 3/5/75 in Dallas looking at my ticket 🎟️ stubs as we speak. The Dallas audio is on TH-cam.
I still think Jimmy Page's best work was done on acoustic guitar. One of the greatest bands ever ❤
This is fuc*ing long ago. I was 16 then. Today I‘m 68…
Absolutely Zeppelin instrument Live the cameraman must be a amateur bootleg ✌️
The King rock roll...
Aye I can sing a song but I'm pretty crap. Better at the instrument side of things.
Honestly the best playing man is John Bonham.
It is nice to hear his songs on my phone
Yeah, but you didn't make the song or the phone.
This guy really turned into a guitar ace!! But what else is an aristocrat supposed to do??
Are you on life-support?
@@LoveOneAnotherHeSaid Was that directed at me?
This audio is from a different concert
I'll never go on a désert island. What Led Zeplin's album could i choose ?
Led Zeppelin -4 Symbols
Tie me Kangaroo down!!!!
Wow who are you to say Zeppelin was sloppy!!!!?????!!!!!
They are the best
Dude. I've seen Led Zeppelin four times. Jimmy Page is sloppy in the best of times but it usually works. But when I saw them in 1977, he was a hot mess.
And just to add, Led Zeppelin is my favorite band over the next band by a factor of 100. And to me no one will ever beat Jimmy Page for creativity, style, skill, Etc. But facts are facts and Jimmy is known to be a sloppy player sometimes tho it takes nothing away from his talent
From what I've heard of all the live recordings there are out there, it gets sloppy when Page plays soloes. The rest is usually tighter than a duck's arse. Listen to Black Dog on this clip, for example.
He's saying James Patrick Page was "sloppy" because he must be a guitar player deep in his bedroom.
Is this the right audio?
No, this is from HTWWW.
Kick ass
Bath festival
th-cam.com/video/y_yEEHEUL9Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aRDumTfQvbtKsHOn
