exceeded my a expectations as always! So fascinating and enlightening.
I am an artist and when i draw these glyphs i see the parts of the body. So for Taurus i see the Horns as the lower jaw and the circle for the whole of the throat.--Cancer i see the breasts, Leo I see the shape of the heart and the foul rush of the Valentine- ant=d how the blood flows in ones side and around and thru to the other. With Virgo i see ther coil of the intestines and the pressed together spleen, liver,gallbladder etc. (i do spread the word of astrology and do a little teaching and i show it by building the Human Body from these glyphs that is a tool to help others remember what where when and why )

I don't tend to like focusing on gender as an emphasis but as a male Virgo Sun and Moon I notice that females often times are prosecuting of the Virgo energy whether it's nuanced archetypal energy or blatant acknowledged characteristics

By the way Rick, I just about fell off my chair when you started talking about dandelions... I am a photographer... love shooting macro in nature and totally get your analogy. I need to send you one of my favorite dandelion seed art pieces. You'll love it. Nature has all the answers. I am constantly amazed at how nature leads us and mimics the stars.
I not only learned a lot about the glyphs, but also about myself as I am a Virgo, with a Scorpio Moon and a Taurus rising All planets in my chart are connected by opposition, sextile or trine to my Scorpio moon. People are always surprised when I tell them I'm a Virgo even though I have 4 planets in that sign. I am definitely looking forward to the Ricks explanation of Scorpio!

This was extraordinary! Wow. So much opened up for me. I always see the pictures in the signs and make something out of them (e.g. I see Virgo as crossing her legs, as opposed to Scorpio with a tail that points out like a stinger), so this was right up my ally. I can't wait for next week . . . and then . . . I wish you'd do a lesson that combines the signs with their planets, and discusses the relationships of the energy in the planet glyphs with the "personality" of the zodiac animal of the glyphs, all in one discussion. Rick touched on this here, and I KNOW there is more, more, more. Oh, I could listen to this stuff all day! Thank you, Rick, for your amazing observations and compilations of patterns in nature and the stars . . . and . . . let me guess . . . I'll bet you're off the scale on the N (intuitive) on the Meyer's Briggs instrument.

Enjoyable topic, Rick. I like the correlation between the 7 or 12 Chakra system and the zodiac; connecting signs to areas of the body. Glyphs, Symbols, Signs and Symbolism and the Zodiac is an enjoyable vortex to study. Contemplating the connecting thread (and mirror!) from cellular to the universal. Or the view of a specific dot in a chart to the view of the galaxy as a dot from infinity. It's all about the expansion from the Mundane Mind to the Universal Mind.
I was a Virgo for 15 years before I found out I was actually a Leo... Sept 1, 1962 was my birthday til the day I went to get my drivers license... They pulled my birth certificate up and it was August 21, 1962... Anyways I could of drove a week earlier had I known, lol... To this day I have never seen my birth certificate... Every-time one needed it they got the information and never had I looked at one of them... Love the sign explanation, so helpful in learning... Thank y’all both ... (Being the seventh son of eight our dear mother couldn’t remember all the birthdays, lol... God bless the Mothers)

As a Taurus, with Mercury in Taurus, I love the practical imagery, stories and analogies being described. It definitely is broadening my perspective! Years ago, mythic astrologer Wendy Ashley shared an interesting image for the Taurus glyph. She suggested that the circle represented the uterus ... and the crescent, the fallopian tubes ... symbolizing creativity.

The leo glyph looked to me like cancer glyph with curls turned outward. In Cancer the curls are inward, contained, protected. In Leo the curls are outward for all the world to see.
The explanation for the sign of Virgo finally had some added depth, thank you Rick. Also, my thoughts on the Rx of the image in that particular font added to my mind the 6 th house where health/ dis-ease is listed, whether it be working in the Health Care area of life, as a Dr, Nurse, Pharmacist, Therapist, Healer, but also that Rx part of the glyph looked like the scythe used for harvesting the crop. Loved ALL of this and looking forward to being in your Astrology 2 class. Look 🔍 for THIS Virgo there⚜. My Astro Family👨👩👧👦

Informative about the glyphs. Most interestingly early hieroglyphs uses over 600 characters as compared to our 36 letter alphabet. So each different strain of corn had its own glyph.

The Aries ♈️ glyph is also reminiscent of fallopian tubes, which are essential lady-parts for reproduction. The likeness is neither coincidence nor far-fetched. Aries are extremely creative. Their imaginations are often hugely fertile with new ideas. These sun signs tend to birth new life in the form of adventure, creativity, travel, jobs, and new experiences. As zodiac symbols go, the link between the Aries glyph and a symbol of fertility is a smart match-up.
i appreciated this a lot! the Aries & Taurus symbols explained helped me with understanding the 1st and 2nd houses more (i don't have any planets in those signs, but i do have planets in those houses). my NN is Gemini and my husband has Gemini Sun & Mars. i have Jupiter at 0 deg in Cancer. and i have 4 planets in Virgo + Asc, and Virgo is one of those archetypes that isn't always accurately understood, like you explained, so i've learned a lot about so much of my chart & my husband's already, just by learning these 6 glyphs. :D i'm happy, i love learning. no surprise there! I always remember the Virgo Glyphs is that Virgo has so much to do with health and nutrition, so the Virgo glyph looks like the RX sign for anything medical.
I'd also like to make a comment on the Taurus Glyph, the circle could resemble the neck and the horns, like the antenna of Mercury, could have to do with expression (the voice and the vibration of the voice).

It was definitely amazing to listen to Leo explosion. The other day I had a discussion with my friend - astrologer about Jesus. My understanding of Jesus, in regards to his moon nodes, is that his north node was in Leo, in 11th house. My friend told me, that Leo is basically the ego, the “I need attention” and Jesus was not like that, of course. My understanding is that Leo is not “I need...”, Leo is “I am”.

I also think that Leo has a magentism to it (like a campfire) and even if Leo isn't looking to be center stage or in the spotlight, I think when they speak up in a group people are drawn to their words and definitely listen. Regardless of presentation

I listen to all of astrology hub videos and i really usually enjoy them tremendously, this one i felt it going against my grain,,because there is a big difference between masculine and feminine, male and female,, as also in animals,,The first ancients had an ewe female goat as to the male ram..doesn't mean it wasn't feminine or masculine.. same as Taurus the bull, not referred to as t he cow, but feminine bull..it has always been a bull..and the Lions mane for Leo,, the lioness as no mane,,but Leo can still have feminine qualities...etc. I have always enjoyed Rick Levine and his stories, this has nothing to do with him personally,,it has to do with the stories and going against my knowledge of the zodiac signs,, thank you .. I still loved it all and the different expressions..I just disagree with the likeness to the signs.. ,,The show is marvelous ..hagd..

Regarding Taurus, female dairy cows often have horns, and the Rx on the older Virgo sign could also represent the Rx of a prescription - and Virgo is connected to health and hygiene (also the Rx of a retrograde cycle in ancient times was considered an ill omen, and perhaps the prescription sign being the same a remedy for any unease caused by it)? . FYI both cows and bulls have horns. They are removed ( either a cow or bull can have horns removed) as a choice by the rancher or breeder.
Perceptually Time seems to be speeding up. If it really IS doing so, wouldn't that alter the Season's and therefore the signs themselves? My Mercury in Scorpio suddenly thought this thought and wondered if anyone else would understand what I am asking? For example, we've been having Spring like weather in California that usually only happens in Gemini Season, but we've had some in January! If we go quick enough, we may not even experience the Seasons or the signs! Something to think about. I enjoyed this, thank you both.
