I am Dr.Narendra Shah from Gujarat - India. I saw your three videos of how to repair various objects using Super Glue and sand , cement, ash and thermocol. All are very impressive and useful in day to day life. Today I have repaired plastic bucket using Super glue and ash. Thank you so much for perfect demonstration.
In #5, he has just made model airplane cement, ideal for for gluing together injection molded polystyrene kits in the 1960s. My mom made her own by dissolving the first insulated foam cups in acetone. Slightly later, one of Dad's employees at his gas station filled up one of the çups with gas to wash parts in, only to see it disintegrating in his hands before he had taken 2 steps! Dad used the gasoline and styrofoam mixture for sealing tubing, etc. 35 cents for a gallon of gas was much cheaper than 50 cents for a pint of acetone,
Been using white gas to melt styrofoam if one likes a little more body to their adhesive simply add some silicone. I use white gas as it's a lot cheaper then acetone and definitely is cheaper than that high-dollar super glue.If using store bought adhesives on some of my big diorama projects would have a astronomical cost. And this homemade formula outperforms many of the store-bought brands anyway..
Hola! Quisiera saber si cuando dice "gas", y cuando otro señor dice "white gas", se refiere a lo que en Argentina conocemos como gasoil, o se refiere a la lo que conocemos como nafta. ¡Alguien sabe la respuesta? (Hello! I would like to know if when he says "gas", and when another man says "white gas", he refers to what in Argentina we know as diesel, or he refers to what we know as naphtha. Does anyone know the answer?) ¡Gracias!
@@pedrosvaldofrias It was leaded regular gasoline. Probably not the best choice for a solvent/degreaser, but in those days, nobody really cared about it.
The last object that you repair looks like a piece of roof plaque made of asbestos mixture with cement. Please be very careful not to breathe dust that comes from this type of material when breaking or worn out.
You should mention that a lot of these methods release poisonous and/or flammable (possibly explosive) fumes. Also, for the last example, try using a piece of a coffee filter instead of cutting up a facemask. Some cheap disposable coffee filters are extremely strong and make excellent roving or gluing substrate.
My plastic measuring cup broke at the spout. I was using it as a scoop for hauling kitty litter out of a box. To fix it I used screen and put it over the break. Then I added some baking soda onto the screen. Finally I added superglue - a drop at a time. Now the breaks are like welded in place - very strong patch and smooth too.
Thanks for your "version" :-) : Around 2:00 Wood glue costs less than superglue and is strong enough. Also, for cracks in plastic (not holes), after having slightly sand and clean the fissure, I use the superglue and add baking soda over it, instead of styrofoam: I find it to be less messy and super solid, at least more than the original plastic/acrylic (stick a tape on the other side to avoid leaks. Then repeat the whole process on that other side). If necessary, you can finish with sand paper to make it even with the required shape. I LUV those tweaks and tricks! Subscribed, and MERCI!
Oh, very good idea,, Whenever you deal with superglue, make sure to wear polyvinyl glove(poly glove), it can protect your fingers to stick to the superglue. Don't deal with superglue by bare fingers.

Mmmmh, good question... Maybe, after making the solution, in a closed glass little airproof sealed vase and some little extra acetone could last a lot. Or, at least, You can see if the extra acetone evaporates. Anyway I would keep it in a ventilated room far from breathing risk.
