I feel like this King Kong figure and the little Batman should have just been released for $20. Then I would have bought it. But this one is an easy Pass for me.
@dHuntersReviews yeah $40 is reasonable. That raw ten cygor was $20 a couple years ago so that's what I was thinking. Even though it's not McFarlane Toys and this one would include a small Batman 30 to $40 would have been a good price.
I have a fair amount of 6-7” Kongs and Godzillas, but I really want a more imposing figure to have for a monsterverse display. I thought this might be it, but the lack of articulation kinda turns it off to me. Maybe one day a company will do a Haslab size Kong and I’ll be happy
I really wanted this pack, but the price tag was a little too steep for me. I get it’s essentially a $40 mega fig, $20 regular fig, and $10 page puncher, but I think $50 would’ve been better. Most likely the price (and scaling and articulation on Kong) are due to licensing fees and how much they set the price at.
Cygor and gorilla grodd have more articulation. They could have put in more articulation. I think they didn’t due to licensing fees, it’s already out there from neca so can’t copy another companies figure. I’m surprised you got this already. I thought it was for preorder still.
A lot of people seem to not get that. They can’t copy the same articulation and scaling if another company has those rights. Kong has lots of licensed figures out there, so McFarlane got what they could, even though it was minimal.
It's ok but way over priced plus its not articulated that Kong could have been great no elbows no knee joints or no ankle or wrist balls that Kong was made for a lil kid it's like a statue plus why Todd added that reissued batman that was a money grab my opinion no disrespect plus it doesn't make no sense nobody in the set are in the right scale big batman Lil batman Lil kong
The gap I really can't stand is where the shoulder and arm meet, such a huge cliff of a different in height. I can't believe this one lost to the Knightfall body.
Had mild interest in this pack because of the Monsterverse crossover but decided not to preorder once I saw the promos. Hush reuse and limited Kong for $70 made it an easy pass. The only positive for this Kong is the size I guess but I'll stick with Hiya for the Monsterverse figures. They're smaller scale of course but they are the best right now on the market in my opinion.
Shouldve skipped the 7" reissue batman from the set- and just focused on a fully articulated kong. A good kong w/ a 3" batman wouldve been a solid set. Very disappointing over all.
I can't stand when Todd does this cheap crap. Gorrillas moved a lot, like you said. He should have articulated him at the elbows, knees, hips, and feet. What a waste, Todd.

And it has far less detail
Even though Kong isn’t great
Super disappointed with Kong. Why no basic articulation ? F........K
This would’ve been so cool if Kong had Atleast some basic articulation. It’s a shame because the king sculpt looks amazing

I’ll be waiting like six months. This thing will be down to 45 or 50.
With all those Black Hush Batmen you can display or take toy photography of any expression you want.

Great review as always D! I'm sure the articulation on Kong was limited to keep the price point where it's at for the 2pk. Great sculpt tho!
that king kong reminds me of a bootleg King Kong i have
Gorilla Grodd is so offended by this!!
Hmmm...I need a cool and good complete scan of the KING KONG figure, for make his articulations...

The Batman figure looks excellent and that picture in the end with the Justice League facing kong is pure epic! Will save it as a wallpaper!

Yes Kong leaves a lot to be desired
Very disappointed with kings articulation for that price ... I can buy an exact scale and articulation kong figure from the movie for like 15 bucks
Kind of disappointed that Kong doesn't have much articulation. But it still looks a little cool and I will buy when I get the chance.
